I'm really sad & sorry to say i have just been speaking to the owner and they believe Coco's body has been found by a man from the highways agency who went to fix a barrier. The kind man is going to bring them her collar for identification but we are pretty certain it is Coco and will update the page further once we are sure. The owner thanks everyone for all of their kind help looking for Coco and i would like to add my thanks to you all too. If this is Coco then at least the owners have closure and don't have to worry that she is being mistreated or alone as they said.
Cheryl
Come on Coco! I know you can be a little aloof towards people, but now is not the time to hide away. Show yourself baby. We want you home safe and sound.
DogLostAngus
Had a message back from our helper with the Doberman , they did pick up a few scents this morning but nothing concrete to go on - due to the nature of the way scent trailing works ideally for a ground scenting dog the scent needs to be fresh say less than 48 hours old - if there are any new sightings she will be on hand to assist directly
Cheryl
Oh please let this be the breakthrough we've been waiting for!
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
Fingers firmly crossed here x
DogLostAngus
I think that they were going out at first light this morning
Big GSDAstralhaze
Thanks Angus.
Will ring Sharon(Bruni) to make sure she gets the message.
DogLostAngus
Bruni - we have made contact with the lady with the Doberman who is tracking - she will call later today
Big GSDAstralhaze
@Pippa's Dad we have already put posters from Frimley Green/Deepcut right up to the Red Rd, unless people have removed them.

I have covered Mytchett woods with posters too as it all connects up with Chobham Ridges, Pirbright, Deepcut, Frimley Green and even as far as Brookwood. So we have expanded the poster area from Lightwater.

I have also had a reply this morning from the MOD ranger who covers Chobham Ridges. He is going to make enquiries just in case Coco managed to get into the restricted areas.

Will put posters up on popular dog walking area on Heaterside. Do not forget land on the west of the Maultway from Pine Ridge Golf Club. It goes down to Tolinscote in the west and in the south to Deepcut and Wharfe Road near Frimley Green, you may want to put posters up in these areas.
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
As safeandsoundanimalcare says postering is the key at the moment, what we really need is a sighting to determine the area Coco is in.Anyone who is likely to be around at dawn/dusk when Coco is likely to be most active- binmen, milkmen, postmen, gamekeepers, riding stables, local farmers and their workers. Also local haulage and delivery companies/couriers and taxi drivers all of who could be out any time of the day or night but are constantly driving backwards and forwards so statistically more likely to see her i would say.If we can get sightings then the tracking(if we can get a tracker) is a much more viable proposition.Bearing in mind thatCoco is a large fit dog- she could have gone further than we think-how far out are the posters? may well be worth postering further afield in places where people are likely to take notice- petrol stations, country parks, near schools, shopping centres, bus stops or even train stations. The local bus service company may well carry posters of Coco in their buses for you if you contact the station master.
safeandsoundanimalcare
There is a local lady who runs tracking cleasses so will try and get her contact details. Should be able to update our website 2morrow, its been down for a while. One more thing to try, put posters on your wheelie bins. We've had success with this before, as the dustmen cover quite a wide area. Royal Mail can help as well, they will let all the local postmen know. Maybe local delivery drivers for Tesco, Asda etc may look out as well?
GillH
Put up a poster at the Matthews Road entrance to Barossa Common (Camberley) today. Will put more up tomorrow. Hope Coco comes home soon.
Big GSDAstralhaze
Hubby went out on his mountain bike this afternoon...

He started from home, then went down to Deepcut up to the Maultway then down the Red Rd (on the MOD land) then back down to Deepcut then through the back side of Mytchett woods to Tunnel Hill and then on to Ash Vale. He covered not only the wooded areas but the canal paths too and places that Coco could be lying low.

We, Sharon & I, bumped into him in Mytchett woods when we were walking the dogs.

I just wish someone would phone in a sighting of her so we had something to go on.
Bruni
Thank you so much to Owl who I spoke to this morning regarding tracking Coco. She gave the glimmer of hope that it maybe able to happen. But as Owl lives so far away it would be more viable for everyone if we could find a lady who lives 'Down South' that is training a doberman in tracking and who is doing very well. The lady is on Dog Lost but so far I am unaware of her name, so we are waiting to find her. Thank you ESSJ and Owl for that so needed glimmer of hope. I hope you feel better now after your message. Thank you both xLast edited: 2011-01-03 21:05:48 by Bruni

Thank you Owl x

It's OK ESSJ, the message was passed on to me by 2 of the team already. I live in the East Midlands and unfortunately am not really available during the coming week. I have left a message on Sharon's mobile. I will certainly get the satellite maps up on computer and take an overview of the situation and see if we can help. We would need to track from a recent sighting, the problem being that a GSD on the move can really cover ground and we could be tracking a dog who is several miles ahead of us. Wispa can only track for 2 to 3 hours at a session because it is mentally tiring sorting out all the scents.
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
Owl is our lady who can track with her lovely dog Wispa. i will put a message on our board for her though i do know she lives in the north of england so distance might be a problem, there may be groups more local to the area.

Hi safeandsoundanimalcare ... Have now spoken to Eagle Radio & although they have had a skeleton staff over the hols they said it has more than likely been aired.... the other station told me they don't put out appeals like this.... Asked Eagle if we could air the appeal again the guy said to call in again if we haven't found her...

One of the members of Biggsd mentioned there is a lady on Doglost that has a dog that can/will track a missing dog in the Derbyshire area, if so is there someone who could contact her or let me or Coco's owner have a contact number please? As we haven't had any sightings coming in I think this maybe a good option to try.
Still keeping everything crossed that she is found very soon.

safeandsoundanimalcare
astralhaze.... Eagle radio are normally good at putting out lost dog announcements, if you don't get a reply let me know and I'll see what I can do. Have spoken to contacts on Copped Hall estate, off Maultway and Upper Chobham Rd, they are spreading word also. Tied up over the next couple of days with family stuff, but will take dog over that way as soon as I can.

What a long avenue at chobham ridges, it looks lovely as well. I am sure you will have news next week.
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
Still watching and waiting for news, i wish i was closer to be able to help. Come on Coco we need a sighting to find out where you are. Then we can work on getting you safely home. Thank you to all of Coco's helpers- you are doing a fantastic job xxx
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Have spoken to owner and it would appear this sighting was the one reported to him earlier this week. The owner is in touch with helper Astralhaze by phone. Anyway team Coco keep up the good work!
Big GSDAstralhaze
We were told of a dog fitting Coco's description running across the Red Road towards Chobham Ridges.
Umneya
I will keep an eye out for Coco when walking my dogs around Hawley Lakes area. Where abouts was she last spotted?
Big GSDAstralhaze
I have just put an advert on Gumtree in their lost/found section for Coco with the link to this page for people to come and look at Coco's Doglost page.
Big GSDAstralhaze
@safe&soundanimals.... I have contacted 2 radio stations, rooneysdad & I have put posters all along the Maultway from Deepcut to the Red Road which runs right by Pineridge golf course.
The radio stations haven't replied unfortunately. :0(Last edited: 2010-12-31 11:09:23 by Astralhaze

You are doing a great job I am sure it will pay off

The Brentmoor / Knaphill / Brookwood areas inc the army barracks have now been heavily postered up now .
Will head further south tomorrow around the Pirbright ranges area , as loose dogs have been sighted in the area but the army person i spoke to couldn't recollect wether there was a GSD amongst them, worth looking though . Will also poster in the ranges aswell.
Cheryl
Have cross posted to some Southern based dog forums, and has also been posted on PawTrax
safeandsoundanimalcare
Will cross post on our Facebook site, would be a good idea to post in and around Pine Ridge golf club as well, loads of dog walkers on the common round there. May be worth seeing if Frimley Park would put a poster up in their shop or mention it on their radio station?
ZX9girl
Come On Coco show your self and lets get you back to Mum Dad and Yogi that miss you. And the other Biggsd Family dogs you meet on weekends
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
Bumped due to poss sighting, well done everyone - you are doing an absolutely brilliant job raising awareness with all the postering and searching.hopefully soon this will pay off some more with fresh sightings and this lead to Coco coming safely home.xxx
Big GSDAstralhaze
Today we attacked the Maultway from Deepcut to The Red Road with posters. I have also been to Longacres garden centre on A30 & have postered the entrance & exit doors.
Swift Lane where the recycling centre is have a poster in their office & the telegraph pole half way down Swift Lane has a poster on it. As I couldn't drive under the barrier into the recycling centre I had to go into the travellers site to turn round, hubby & I had a good look while we where there but we didn't see anyone or anything.
I put posters in Bagshot village and the local supermarket too. I have emailed BBC Surrey & Sussex Radio. Awaiting a reply from them & Eagle Radio.

Hopefully with the amount of posters up now & the holidays over we are keeping everything crossed for some calls of sightings of Coco.

C'mon girlie show yourself Mum, Dad & Yogi are waiting for you x
Rooneysdad
Concentrated around the Deepcut / Brentmoor / West End / Pirbright & Deepcut Barracks areas today . Loads more postering & chatting to locals but nobody heard / seen anything.
Will start further afield to widen the search area.
Bruni
Keith was informed late last night of a possible sighting of a German Shepherd running across one of the mainroads on Christmas day afternoon. We are treating this as a good lead and have now moved our interest further afield and away from the M3 and original spot. We are blitzing everywhere with her poster. Tomorrow we can bother all the shops that have been closed over Christmas, local vets and walking area's.
Wherever you are baby we will find you, and on lead walks forever more!
Cheryl
Texts, emails and facebook contacts of all my 14 year olds friends in the area, asking them to contact their friends. They are all in the Heatherside/Frimley/Camberley area, and this age group are always out and about. I understand Heatherside was the last possible sighting.Last edited: 2010-12-28 13:06:36 by Cheryl
doglady
I understand the found GSD was not Coco, please do not think any sightings could have been this dog and not Coco, you never know weather Coco had been chasing this dog when went missing and could very well be in the same area as the dog was found.
Big GSDAstralhaze
Have posted up the telegraph poles in the village at Lightwater and any shop that was open I gave them a poster to display. The garden centres on the A30 have posters although 1 was shut so will go there tomorrow. Sharon (Biggsd member) beat me to 1 of them lol.
A police dog handler I know told me of a travellers site down the road from Lightwater that is also a recycling plant. I am going to take posters down there tomorrow. It seems odd that no one has seen her :0(
Come on Coco show yourself so we can get you back home x
Rooneysdad
We have been out helping to look for this girl since Boxing day & still no news as of yet. Loads of posters are being posted up in & around the area but no sightings of her at all ?
We will try again tomorrow.
Big GSDAstralhaze
Thinking of you both, call me if you want me to come over & lend a hand.
Everything crossed for Coco's safe & speedy return xxx
doglady
Glad to here that the owner has lots of help. It may be worth going to the park late at night sometimes when it is very quite the dogs will show them shelf's.
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
Sadly not Coco, owner will be back searching and postering in the morning.
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
Owner has been alerted to a found german shepherd bitch in the GU area and is going to see if it is Coco now. Just willing it to be her. will update asap.
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
thanks doglady :)Very good advice. the owner has gone back out this afternoon and everything you have said has already been mentioned to them amongst other advice. i believe there is quite a lot of help meeting or going with them this afternoon- not only from friends but also some brilliant local members of the BIGGSD forum who have offered to help.(Coco is a BIGGSD dog) Fingers crossed they have some luck this afternoon and find her safe and well. x
doglady
Please tell the owner to keep going back to where Coco last left them, dogs do go back to the area where they run from and if Coco was travelling by car to get to where she was walk then go there with food an old blanket or something with smells she knows.
