- Had a visit from a male black cocker spaniel in our garden late last night in Cove Farnborough. Having quietly closed the gate behind him, he was happy to spend the night with us and settled down eventually for a sleep. He was in good condition and wanting a lot of strokes with a few biscuits thrown in. A neighbour spoke to us this morning and had spotted him throughout the day running around the Cove Brook area but he was too nervous to come over. Thankfully his guardian angel was looking out for him and the cars missed him. After his breakfast and play in the garden the Rushmoor dog warden came to collect him, and I have spoken to the owner of Charlie above. From the photo and description I am hoping he is Charlie and can go home for a New Year celebration. Fingers crossed.

- Owner has been in contact and is doing all the right things, Charlie went from home and was seen in the area so can helpers please Poster and look in on Rescues & Pounds in the area please as seems someone must have taken him in and not YET reported him as found. Thanks! Last edited: 2010-12-30 16:42:06 by Reynard

- Sent txt , and will send advice via email when I get it,scenting instuctions may help as Charlie was sighted, has the MOD been called as they may help with searches?
If Charlie has been taken in then Postering & advertising is the best option as often people do not realise that a found Dog should be reported to the Dog Warden although always difficult over holiday periods to get in touch or perhaps somone will know where he is. Good Luck ! - 2010-12-30 07:13 Rooneysdad
- I live on the same housing estate from where Charlie originally went missing. I have spent quite some time driving around the Old Farm Place Estate & checking shrubbery , copses , wooded areas as well as the dustbin areas on the estate. I have also checked & asked around neighbouring roads , but nobody has seen / heard anything.
I did advise that Charlie could have easily left the immediate area & asked one of our forum members to have a look around the nearby nature reserves but nothing seen. With the local Army ranges in the area , it is very easy for a dog to run for miles without being sighted.
Wont stop looking though.

- Have emailed all our contact vets and rescue centres today. I agree he probably has been taken in now, lets hope they report him as being found soon. We tend to find that the majority of found dogs round here are reported to Battersea at Old Windsor, so would def be worth giving them a ring if you haven't done already? We will try to get over to Ash Vale again tomorrow or Fri and see if we can spot him. Which road did he go missing from?

- Thank you so much for your help everyone. Will look into your sighting Gillian, thank you!
We had a report of a found black dog today but it wasn't Charlie, the other dog has been reunited with his owner though.
Have put flyers through the doors of houses all around our end of Ash Vale yesterday but going to go further afield incase he has been taken in by somebody. We printed over 1000 and most have already been delivered so we're doing ok.
We believe he got out of the back gate when the rubbish was put out late at night, its the only chance we can think of and he was seen walking around the estate late at night by neighbours. We looked all night and all of boxing day and he was nowhere to be seen so we think he has to have been taken in. Thankyou everyone. - 2010-12-28 15:51 Linda
- Sorry to hear about Charlie. Will keep my eyes open for him. Flyers to local addresses were a good idea and if you need any help with this please just ask.

- Thanks...do we know whereabouts in GU14 please?
- 2010-12-27 21:17 Gillian
- My husband has just come back from a walk in GU14 area and he said there is a black spaniel running around with no owner. When they got close to the dog it dissappeared in the undergrowth. I've just sent him back out with dog food and a lead to see if he can find the dog again.Last edited: 2010-12-28 10:57:26 by Gillian
