- What devastating news! I'm so so sorry!
Please don't mourn for me I'm still here,
though you don't see I'm right by your side each night and day
And within your heart I long to stay, my body is gone but I'm always near
I'm everything you feel, see or hear
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart, As long as you keep me alive in your heart
I'll never wander out of your sight, I'm the brightest star on a summer night
I'll never be beyond your reach, I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach
I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around, And the pure white snow that blankets the ground
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond, The clear cool water in a quiet pond
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in spring, The first warm raindrop that April will bring
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine, And you'll see that the face in the moon is mine
When you start thinking there's no one to love you, You can talk to me through the Lord above you
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees, And you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep, And the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep
Run free Little Lola! xx - 2011-01-29 12:41 Helen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge

- Sadly we had news last night from the a local gamekeeper that they had found Lola in woods less than a mile from here. She was still wearing her lead which had become very tangled around branches. It appears that she basically got her self trapped and was unable to wriggle free of the lead though it was not tight around her neck. It is unclear how long she has been there - a shoot took place on the 29th Dec and the game keeper regular walks the woods - it is believed that she starved to death. We are heartbroken. Thank you to all those that helped on her search and I hope that the poor cocker spaniel that was mistaken as Lola gets home soon.

- Too far away to help, but keeping everything crossed for you x

- just had a phone call from a lady who had a brown cocker spaniel run out in front of her car a couple of weeks ago in Steeple Bumpstead - which would make sense geographically re sightings in Sewards End. Was sure dog was also wearing collar - which again if same dog ties with sewards end sighting. Lady can not give exact date but probably week of 9th of Jan. She saw the editorial in the Haverhill Echo.

- Thank you to all who are keeping their eyes and ears out. Adverts in Herts and Essex Observer + their sister paper which covers the whole of Herts + Essex for the next 3 weeks. Advert re-running in SW reporter this week. Have started looking at gundog/shooting websites, contacting them and where appropriate posting details.

- have been looking every time I go out over the fields alongside debden road. Have you considered doing door to door with leaflets if you believe she is still in area of sewards end. I keep hoping of fresh sightings for you and hope she is well and safe with you very soon.
- 2011-01-22 22:34 mrswrigs
- Look at 20170 to give you hope. We will keep on looking and searching as we need this little lady to come back home.

- Thank you Sue - much appreciated. We have placed ads in next weeks Herts and Essex Observer and the Haverhill Echo have agreed to run an editorial piece on her. Will run ads again in Saffron Walden Press.Put up some more posters including newsagent/post office in Thaxsted. Spoke with local farmer who's daughter told him of a spaniel fitting ours description spent a few hours at their new year's eve - confirming that she was definitely in the Borough lane/ Summer Hill Rd area before moving on to Sewards End on the Monday. Also confirmed that she was not wearing a collar or lead on New years Eve.Though was wearing a red one by the Monday. With no further sightings I am beginning to think that she may have been returned to the person who managed to get a collar on her over the course of those 2 days.

- Hi Charlotte,
So sad to see your dog is missing. We live near to Saffron Walden in one of the villages, and are the couple who have Jacob the missing Bracco Italiano in the area, he has been missing for almost 2 years now.
The reason for the post is to say if you should need any search help or advice, feel free to contact us.
I know how heartbreaking this is, so if ever you need a shoulder even, just call.
Lets hope the ad in the paper will throw light onto her dissapearance for you.

- Received a phone call from a lady this evening who was walking her dog down Redgate lane in Sewards End - saw an unaccompanied dog in one of her neighbours gardens - did not recognise dog as local to the village. Shone torch on dog, which then ran off back towards the centre of the village. Thought this dog was more brown and white than brown with white bib. Went up and had a look - too dark.

- Adverts running all local papers again this week, including an editorial piece in the Walden Local. Have also sent posters out to all vets, kennels, rescue centres and stables within a 20 mile radius.

- received a phone call from a young woman who saw a dog fitting our dog's description in the early hours of saturday morning (New Years Day) - approx 4.30 on Summer Hill Rd in Saffron Walden - was too dark to see exact colour but was definitely a cocker spaniel. She was wearing no lead or collar from what they could see. They tried to catch her but dog too timid and ran off. If it is the same dog she has travelled a few miles east between saturday morning and yesterday.

- Spoke to Charlotte at lunch time, the sighting is very positive, she joined the lady for several hours on a walk but never close enough for her to get hold of her - she is positive its her but the collar does indicate somebody else has had hold of her. Owners are postering the area like mad and out searching all the time. I hope all their hard work pays off and she's home soon.

- We received a phone call early afternoon today from a lady who had been joined on her dog walk by a spaniel fitting our dogs description up in Sewards End which is about 6 miles across the fields as the crow flies from where we last saw her. The Lady tried to get hold of her but was unable to and she ran off. She positively identified her from our poster but worryingly the lady was sure that she was now wearing a red collar. whether someone has taken her in and she has escaped/run away from them is obviously unknown but we are now concerned that if found she may be returned to the wrong people. We have spent much of the afternoon looking in the area she was seen - but no luck.

- Unfortunately this little lovely is still missing. She went off on a walk, she did come back but not close enough for her dad to get her and she was off again. Will notify all local contacts and email all information but owners are doing a fantastic job of getting her known. There has been a lot of shoots going on in the area so she may have gone to ground during the day while thats happening - the shoots are all aware of her and keeping their eyes peeled. Also means there is a good food source for her so hope if she is out there she's feeding herself well. Stay safe little one! x

- Tried to call but no answer, hope this little one is on her way home. Have left message and will try again this afternoon.
