This is very sad. My thoughts have been with this fella since he first appeared on DL found. He was treated with kindness and compassion at the end - I trust his ex-owners feel the guilt deserved at their lack of responsibility towards Mac. No animal needs to be dumped - there is help out there.

This is just heartbreaking. I kept checking to see if he'd found a good home. How can people desert animals in need? There are ways to get support and help for your animal if need be? Rip mac x

Bless him, he deserved a happy ending, but sadly not to be!
As for his original owners, they should be disgusted with themselves, my last penny would go on my dogs to help save them! Run free Mac xx

This sad news has really upset me. I can't even begin to put into words how I feel. You only have to look at how many viewings Mac has had and that speaks volumes. I bet there are many like me who were so hoping this lovely old boy would find someone to give him his forever home. RIP Mac. Gone but forever in my thoughts.

I have a tear in my eye - Mac was found to have 2 golf ball size tumors in his armpit areas and has now gone to rainbow bridge - his owners possibly knew this.
rest in peace dear Mac - young and fit again xx
