unfortunately no news so far.. that woman has responded to me that she found a dog owner according to the microchip. she says she took a dog to vet for a second time and they have found a microchip and contacted an owner. just before that she said that she found owner of dog who came with the exactly pic of dog found. police are not interested in this case and said that my dog is not the only one of this breed in tottenham and it could be any other dog.. will go to do one more poster round tomorrow. it's already two weeks since shes missing and am loosing my hope to get my little girl backLast edited: 2011-01-16 17:53:51 by darius

Hi Darius, any news on your search for Latti? Hope this lady has seen sense and returned her to you or at least informed you who she passed Latti on to. Did the police get involved? Hope there is some good news soon.
natalie
Unfortunately the lady has not refused to any of my emails regarding the jack russell she found. I know i may be being too suspicious but i refuse to believe a female jack russell of the same description as Latti could appear a matter of hours after she went missing just down the road. I don't believe the lady would not have been able to go to a vet on New Years day and she placed the ad on gumtree on 2nd January, i just don't know what to think but as you said Darius, too many coincidences! If you have called all local dog wardens and vets and there have been no female jack russells reported or taken to the vets then this shows the lady hasn't reported the found dog to them. I have also asked if she took any contact information of the man who collected the dog from her and also a photo but she just isn't replying. If infact she has given away the dog to a man who went to her house then i agree advertising in local newspapers would be a brilliant idea, also poster in your area as much as possible! And maybe do door to door postering. All i can suggest is trying to advertise poor Latti as much as possible in the hope that somebody tells you where she is or whoever has her comes forward. Natalie

darius - I would suggest putting couple of ads in local papers along with the photo of Latti. She is a distinct looking dog with her markings, maybe an ad will promt someone to contact you.

thanks digbysmum, spindle, natalie and everyone helping latti to come back home. all your suggestions means a lot to me.
natalie, i know about the legal requirement to report a stray dog to a dog warden and i have wrote to woman from add stating this and reminding her it's a criminal offense to keep such dog. after that email she has replied that last message. now when i have asked her to give a contact of the man who took a dog it's silent again.. and all the posters which i am hanging around tottenham are offering reward for safe latti's return. i have offered a reward for a woman from add as well if it's latti.. maybe she's now afraid of legal actions could be taken against her or something.. i don't really know what to think. will try to describe all the situation now to make it clear.
i've been informed about the gumtree add 20 minutes after it was posted. some nice woman phoned me and said to check a gumtree. i have sent her email describing latti and than send a pic as well. after she replied that her found dog is not latti according to picture which i've sent. as i was hoping a lot this is my dog i've asked her to sent a pic of her found dog and she said she will do. i haven't received it and as it was midnight i thought she gonna do it next day. next day i have sent her email reminding she's promised to send a pic. she didn't reply. i have sent her couple of more emails from different people like from possible dog owners. she didn't reply to any of them. so from that moment it started to look very suspicious to me. why person is advertising found dog on the bigest notice boards in the UK and when not communicating with possible dog owners? i've informed a police and police said they can do nothing for now as if she didn't reply to my email it's not evidence she's got my dog (they said maybe she's not on computer but it's ridiculous to put an add giving just your e-contact but not phone number and when not to check your email) anyway we decided to wait and been postering area and informing all the vets, dog wardens, shelters and so on.
thinking about the add on a gumtree once again.. that woman stated she took a dog to a vet. as it was 1st or 2nd of January you could hardly find a vet working only emergency cases which cost quite a lot. anyway i have phoned ALL the vets in 10 miles radius and no dog was brought in at these days. latti is registered as lost dog with all of them. no dog similar to latti was reported to a dog warden as well.
and it's strange as well why she hasn't reply to any other emails sent to her from me and from different accounts but how then she managed to gave back a dog to the owner?
don't want to be offensive and say that she's really got my dog.. but it's to much strange details and coincidences there what makes me think like thatLast edited: 2011-01-08 17:18:51 by darius

Darius, I spoke to you when Latti originally went on our site. natalie is correct it is a legal requirement for a finder of a stray do to report it to the dog warden. Will e mail you.
natalie
I have just been told that it is a legal requirement for a finder of a dog to alert the dog warden in their area of a found dog, so this lady who found the jack russell should have contacted the dog warden, have you been in touch with your local dog warden?
natalie
Is there any chance of adding REWARD to the posters as on nationalpetregister it does say that owners will give a reward for her safe return..
natalie
Hi Darius, i have emailed the lady who found the dog just down the road from you and have had no reply yet. May i just say that you can disable your facebook account so that nobody can see it. Right, i honestly believe that it is too much of a coincidence that the same breed of dog would be found just down the road just a few hours after Latti went missing, maybe the lady became attached to the dog and has decided to lie to you and keep her, or yes maybe somebody did go with a photo and say it was her but they could have obtained a photo from this site. If she genuinely handed the dog over then i'm sure she wouldn't mind giving you details of the person who went and collected her?
The email sounds as though she is getting irritable and i'm not sure why if she advertised a found dog on one of the biggest sites in the country. I personally think there is more to this than she is letting on.
All i can suggest is to seriously poster the area as much as possible in hope that whoever does have her will think she is too hot to keep and hand her in. Put posters through doors saying that she is probably still in the immediate area.

Hi Darius, pleased you have now registered on this site. If Latti is microchipped then this should have shown up if this woman had taken her to a vet. If the so-called owner had a photo of Latti, surely this could have easily been obtained either from this site ort the Gumtree advert? Think the police should be involved here. Don't give up.
darius
hi everybody and i want to say thanks to you all! it's very nice so many good people around. i am the owner of latti.
after honest email which i have sent to woman from a gumtree add and your incitement (thanks for you all once again) she have replied to me after 5 days of silent. her email is "Lisyten I haven't replied because I've found the owner of the dog! A
man came to visit and brought a pik of the xact dog. I have deleted my
facebook account coz I dnt have a facebook."

don't know what to think. have asked her to sent me a contact of a dogs owner..
..just am pretty sure that fb account was her, because I have found it according to an email. and today it was suspended or deleted. maybe am just feeling too much desperate that my dog's missing but it's far too much coincidence there...
natalie
If the lady is refusing to let Latti's owner see the found dog then she obviously has no interest in finding the poor dog's owner..i wonder why she advertised finding a dog? I have sent her an email explaining that i am certain her dog has a home and owners who are desperately searching for her and that she should allow the owners to go and see her. All we know is that the lady lives in Tottenham, has the owner postered doors in this area? That is probably worth doing and perhaps adding a reward so that there is a bigger reason for this lady to call and give her back? Knocking door to door in that area(i don't know the area well and really don't know how many houses there are in Tottenham?) but you never know owners may see Latti on their door to door postering so i would definitely recommend that! If a few more people email this lady then she may decide to let Latti's owner go and visit to see if it is her, so could a few more people please email the lady in the link i sent previously? Thanks, Natalie
natalie
Considering it was a few hours after Latti went missing and was in the exact same area i am pretty certain it is Latti, however yes the ad did make it seem as though the lady's not too interested in finding the owner, she does say that she has had the dog checked for a microchip and that there isn't onw but i just can't believe that this isn't Latti. Is there any way of tracing the advert and the woman? I don't know what the next step would be, but if the lady has to take the dog to the vet's and they scan for a chip then surely they will have to hold on to the dog if she is traced back to her owner when they scan? I just don't know!
digbysmum
Natalie, I also saw this advert and have e-mailed Latti's owner. It seems very definite that this is Latti but the lady had refused to let Latti's owner see the dog and ignores any e-mails that are sent. Apparently the police are not interested. Don't really know the next step to take.
natalie
A lady is advertising on Gumtree to say that on 1st Jan a female jack russell was scratching on her front door in the exact same area where Latti went missing! http://www.gumtree.com/london/98/71187798.html
