It's Selby Game Fair this weekend, have you thought about handing out mini leaflets there? There's 100's of dogs at this event and 1000's of dog owners, many springer owners. If you want a hand I'd be happy to meet you down there and do a day with you - 2011-04-17 10:57 Goldenfrodo

- we where out last night looking around ponty area. Facebook post form Tuesday :
got back from postering in pontefract and checking old ones are still up, we got a phone call off a lady while we where out regarding poster we had just left at petrol station, she said that she may have seen ozzy two days ago near swanhill lane in pontefract. had a collar on but thought the dog was with some people walking down same road. so we have been back round and postered area till we run out of tape again and me ending up with one sock, I have left it tied to some railing on a wall just out of the way in the area he was seen just incase he comes back he might stay close fingers crossed. - 2011-01-19 12:44 darren

- Re farmer. Had someone like that when I was postering for a different dog in another area. We postered the end of the drive, facing in and outwards, so that the owner HAD to see the message we were trying to get across. Also put a leaflet through the door. Later we went back and got a slightly less antagonistic welcome.

- Darren so sorry the dog sighted at Knottingley was'nt Ozzy. I know its disheartening to get false alarms but its good that the lad rememered seeing Ozzy's poster and show people are taking notice of them. You are doing all the right things but please do keep up with the postering and checking with stray kennels. When I spoke to you we discussed stray kennels and with the fact that Springfield is now closed dogs from your area may be being sent to several other kennels. I know you are aware of Mount Pleasant and Cliffe Kennels but have you also checked with Fleet Kennels and Alfies kennels both at Bradford ? They may take dogs from this area and I believe Alfies kennels are still being used as an out of hours service. Have you also checked with all vets in the area ? If not already done may I suggest you also put Ozzy on the National Pet Register and there is also a South Yorkshire Lost and Found website ( they will put dogs on from any area of Yorkshire). I have added you to my facebook. Have you thought of making Ozzy his own facebook page or group ? If you do this pick a title that explains what the group is about ........... such as 'OZZY Missing in West Yorkshire' and ask everyone who joins to invite their friends. Its another good way of spreading the word ! Also have you thought of approaching the local media to see if they will run a story on Ozzy ? Hopefully your posters will be seen by someone who know where Ozzy is !

- Thank you Reynard we have just got back in after putting some more posters up, in a way i hope someone has taken him in so at least he is warm and been fed. but we still need to know that he is ok and need him back to make are family whole again.
only place i have not been is to see the farmer down near the woods, when my wife and cousin walked down he was a bit off hand with them and told then to get of his land and said there are no dogs so go away.
so might have to call on him on saturday morning.
thank you all - 2011-01-13 23:33 Reynard
- So sorry Ozzy is missing but do make sure you Poster well so anyone can see he is missing & if taken in and not reported will make it difficult to keep him with contacting the Dog Warden. I have cross posted to Its a Springthing & NESSR Spaniel forums. Good Luck!

- had a text from a lad in Knottingley on the warwick estate saying he had seen ozzy, spent 4 hours last night driving round and again this morning and found a stray black and white spaniel cross (NOT OZZY) reported to warden.
I just find it strange that a dog can go missing in an area and there has not even been one sighting of him anywhere in a week , unless someone has got him in there house. (thats not good).
we have covered nearly 500 mile driving round in the car and god knows how many mile walking, we have placed more than 400 posters through doors and on lamp posts.
i have been to all kennels and left leaflets, we have been in touch with all wardens.
We just want him back, the house dose not feel the same without him. you can add me on facebook darren wiltshire. and once again a big thak you to everyone for the continued help Last edited: 2011-01-13 21:44:38 by darren - 2011-01-13 20:38 TracyB

- Thank you Everyone for help so far,
Hi Jytte i have been round Fairburn, bird feeding area and the the main dog walk over the water towards the raiway bridge that links fairburn and fryston village, have postered all areas.
with all the searching we have done since he has gone, i strongly belive that someone has got him and not sure what to do with him or have him with the intention to keep him, as he looks like a pure bread English springer they may feel he is worth money.
But our Ozzy is pricless he is unique and he is not just our dog he is a family member that we love to bits.

- There have been no sightings of Ozzy since he dissapeared on a walk despite his owners and many friends searching for him. His owner is aware that Springfield Kennels have closed and has the contact numbers for Mount Pleasant and Cliffe kennels. Some postering has already been done and they will continue to poster to raise as much public awareness as possible.Hoping that Ozzy is back home very soon ~ Pam

- Sorry to see that OZZY STILL MISSING is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (27311)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
