- i'm so sorry it wasn't her but glad you posted as not seeing your post i nearly put on the girl from stray aid as i was pretty sure from the photo she'd been shaved .... don't give up we are all watching out for her.
- 2011-02-27 16:20 samward1991
- drove 300 miles today as we had an email to say sandy may have been at strayaid in durham, the photo on their website shows a shaved dog as they believe it was stolen and the theives tried to disguise it, when we got there it was identical to her but unfortunately was too small to be her :( so sad people do this to these poor dogs x
- 2011-02-21 18:03 samward1991
- Unfortunately it wasnt Sandy at halewood. Still no more news or sightings anywhere else :(
- 2011-02-15 09:35 Jeffreysmummy
- The beige greyhound has been caught and taken to Halewood RSPCA. Perhaps it may be worth checking out if it is Sandy as she doesn't have a microchip?
- 2011-02-13 14:57 Jeffreysmummy
- There is a report of a beige greyhound running loose in Southport on dogpages. The area is described as Weld Road, Victoria Park, Queen Jubilee Nature Trail. The dog was seen being dumped from a white van. It says the dog warden is aware - it might be worth making contact in case its Sandy.

- Hi, Longshot but there is a female on www.hyndburnstraydogsinneed.co.uk which is in the rehoming section - looks slightly more ginger but is wearing leather collar as described. They pick up from all over. Worth a look anyway. Fingers crossed. UPDATE spoke to owner this morning and unfortunately it isn't her :-( Keep looking everybody!Last edited: 2011-02-03 09:11:30 by mojomoment

- I have just seen on another site that a third dog was also taken. I have notified the co-ordinator that you have had contact with, she may contact you soon to ask if we can have the 3rd one registered. Do you know if this page was bumped due to sightings? If not it will be when your 3rd one is registered. I hope you have them all back safely very soon.

- samward1991, I've emailed you with advice on what to do if you see her. Pickerings Pasture is very popular with dog walkers, if you can visit in the day ask the wardens if they will display a poster in the information box. I will try and contact Halewood RSPCA tomorrow but will also email them a poster. Jan x

BUMPED due to sightings. - 2011-01-23 15:28 samward1991
- We have had a call from someone who thinks they may have seen Sandy (the older one) at an industrial estate on McDermot Road in Widnes, just before the Runcorn Bridge, on Friday 21st January. They think they saw her eating out of the bins and described her perfectly even down to the collar she was wearing, a leather lurcher one that is thick at one end and thin at the other. She may still be wearing it now. We have been up there and put posters up but the fog has made it difficult to look for her. There is a park/woodland nearby called Pickering Pastures where she could be roaming as there will be food and shelter there for her.

- Sorry to see Sandy has been stolen - you have no doubt reported this to the police and obtained a CRN? Please take the advice given below, it is imperative that you put up hundreds of posters in your locality to make this girl 'too hot to handle' and inform local dog warden, vets, kennels, farms. Try and speak to your local Traveller Liaison Officer who may be of assistance to you. I'm sure someone more local to you will be able to post further advice and offer of help, I am unfortunately a long way from you to offer any practical assistance. Good luck and I look forward to seeing Sandy back at home very soon.

- Sorry to see that SANDY AND TAZ is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (27355)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
