fantastic news. Just about to print the poster off to take to Cliff Kennels and couldn't find her on the lost page. Stay safe and get lots of rest. Good to have another member on board. May x

Delighted to see this lovely girl is safely back home xx

I certainly will Pam. Thank you for the info. Cassie is still very tired, but seems more herself, a little bit more alert. She's feeling well enough to jump on the settee, a place she shouldn't be but I will let her off under the circumstances!!
I really can't believe it either, Pam, it was such a shock. Still haven't really taken it all in, can't imagine how she must feel.
Will definitely stay on the board; I never knew places like this even existed, but I'd definitely have lost hope if it hadn't been for your hard work. I really can't thank you enough. Will have a look at my profile and stay handy. Kirsty xxx

Kisrty I couldnt believe it when I got your text last night !! But cant tell you how pleased I was !! This entire experience will have been very traumatic for poor Cassie and as Owl has said she will be feeling mentally and physically shattered. She will want to sleep and rest so let her do this and after her recent experiences its understandable she is'nt so keen on going back outside ! I would advise not to let her off the lead for a while when you do start walking her again. If possible I would take her to the vets for a check up just to be sure all is well. YES PLEASE ........ we would love you to stay on board so you can help anyone else in your area who loses a dog ! Can you please look your at registration profile and make sure the box is ticked for email alerts to be sent out to you if any dogs go missing in your post code area ? Thanks x Please give Cassie a big hug from Neil and myself xxx PamLast edited: 2011-01-19 09:24:56 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

So relieved this dear old girl is back home. It's quite usual for dogs who have been running around lost to need several days to catch up on rest as they can be mentally as well as physically exhausted. Some reunited dogs, even younger ones, have done nothing except eat and sleep for a week. Let her take recovery at her own pace but obviously talk to the vet if you have concerns.
Kokobela
Regarding leaving her to her own devices, is there anything else I can be doing? It seems best to let her just sleep. My mum took her out on a lead into the garden this morning and after she wanted to come back in immediately after pee-ing. Obviously that's to be expected. Won't attempt to walk her for at least a full day I think? Kirsty

Hi everyone, thanks for your concern. Yes, Cassie came home around midnight Tuesday. She is absolutely exhausted so we are leaving her to her own devices while she re-adjusts. To be honest, I never expected her to come home by herself, especially when I saw the scale of fields and parks near where she was last seen. I'm so happy but still a little bit in shock I think! Thank you ever so much to everyone who helped in her search; please count me in for any dogs lost nearby in the future, as this is an agony I wouldn't want anybody to go through. Kirsty x

Thanks to all for your help and suggestions ! we drove over tonight to the area in Royston where Cassie first ran off from and then went with posters across to Monk Bretton. We saw a lady dogwalker and stopped to speak to her. She immediately said she saw Cassie a couple of times on Sunday afternoon and commented on the bright collar and tag she was wearing. This lady was very definite it was Cassie which was very encouraging as up to then we were uncertain if the other sightings had been of her.We were just putting our last poster up when Kirsty text me to say she had driven over to Monk Bretton as a man had seen Cassies poster and phoned her with a Sighting of Cassie last night (Monday) again in the Jet garage area. At this time we were 2 minutes away from where Kirsty was so met up with her.We have put posters up on various street postitions and also have one up in Woodys Fish and Chip shop, the Sun pub and one in a prominent position on the doors of the Jet Garage .... many thanks to them ! We really want Cassie to stay in the area to the Barnsley side of the Jet Garage and away from the traffic on the roundabout which she probably had to cross to get there ! If we get some more sightings in of Cassie then I will help Kirsty to do some scenting and maybe set up a feeding station. Kirsty please dont forget to note down all the sightings and their days and times as we discussed. That way we will build up a pattern of her movements. Hopefully the posters we put up tonight will bring in more sightings tomorrow but Kirsty when you start with more postering tomorrow I think you still need to put some up in Royston in case she doubles back in that direction. we will try to get over there again tomorrow night in the car and I think I can get a bus there so may go over in the afternoon too.Come on Cassie its time to go home ! Kokabela have a look at Arthur 27323 his owner was in exactly the same position...he got Arthur home! Good luck
Kokobela
Thanks Nina, will look into that. Just got back from a drive through Monk Bretton, have had a thrid confirmed sighting. She has definitely been in that area on Sunday evening. An awful lot of places she could be hiding. Kirsty

Kokobela has anyone told you about the scenting method to use to try and get Cassie home. What you have to do in basic terms is collect your wee possibly in a bottle and sprinkle it in a trail from where Cassie was last seen and take a route to your front door or back garden. If you contact doglost again they can send you scenting instructions.

Another positive sighting in Monk Bretton, which is roughly 2 miles from where we live. Seen twice on Sunday night between the Jet garage and the church. Seems she is in that area. Thanks to everybody for your comments and help. Kirsty

I have posted and shared on Facebook. Also, might West Mead Kennels at Ellis Laithe be worth a try?

Thank you all for your help. The Barnsley and Sheffield dog wardens have been contacted, as have Pet Log (chipping company), RSPCA and BARC. Have telephoned Noah's Ark Kennels at Shafton to record her description. Have been trying to contact Cliffe Kennels since this morning so would really appreciate a poster being dropped off. Cassie isn't a very trusting dog, she is unlikely to have approached a stranger or allowed herself to be taken into anyone's home. I suppose this depends how hungry and tired she is. She went missing on Sunday - myself and my mum were away for the weekend and left her in a neighbour's care. Neighbour simply turned her loose, didn't bother with a lead. It's no surprise that this has happened, but I still never expected it. Thanks again for all your help. Kirsty

Cassie was being looked after by a neighbour when she bolted and ran off. There have been a couple of possible sightings of her walking near the Jet garage close to the roundabout in Monk Bretton. We are not sure these sightings were her so her owners need to keep postering over a wide area as she could have wandered off in any direction. Hopefully posters will bring in sightings of this lovely girl who is 10 years old.Cassie has heart problems and as she is on daily medication for this her owners are desperate to find her. The dog warden for Barnsley has been contacted but her owners are also going to contact the nearby Wakefield warden. We are going to help with some postering. An ad will be going in the Barnsley Chronicle this week. Thankyou May for offering to go to Cliffe kennels ! Cassie's owners would be very grateful if you could please do this for them. Hoping to see Cassie back home very soon.

So Sorry to see Cassie is missing. I live close to Cliff Kennels in Hoylandswaine so will print off poster and drop off tomorrow. Asume you have already concacted them and the dogwarden? Please dont forget to inform the chip company. Also try BARC. (Barnsley Animal Rescue Centre).
Is Cassie friendly and how did she go missing?
Fingers crossed that she is home soon. May x
