Sadly this boy never made it home. His body has been found by a local farmer who kindly buried him and retuned his collar to the owner. It is thought that he has been at the bridge for a long time, maybe even soon after running off.

Could we have a little more clarification on the postcode? DT6 is a large, rural area, so a more specific code would help. I have lost two dogs in DT6 (daughter's two terriers) and am always on the lookout for them. Could add this lovely big lurcher to my search. There have been sightings of a "large, black cat" in the Beaminster and Netherbury areas. My neighbour once reported seeing such a "panther-like" animal which I had fortunately also seen and knew it to be a black smooth-coated lurcher. Easy mistake if just a fleeting glimpse in the half dark. All the best with your search - he really is a lovely looking dog.

You must put posters up outside known Traveller's sites in your area and contact your local Travellers Liason Officer at your local council with a description of your dog. Poster everywhere! If you make as much noise as possible your dog may be more hastle than it's worth and be left somewhere. Mine was! Posters going up in Axminster and surrounding villages. Thinking of you! Good luck x

More searching today but still nothing - it's like he's disappeared into thin air. Nobody has seen or heard anything. Terrible.

Photos now uploaded so posters can be printed and email alerts to be sent to all helpers. Owners have been searching again today but no news yet. It is unlike him to wander.
