- He's home....what can i say ? I dont think the whole event has really hit me yet. I cant believe it. He crossed the A5 and at least one other road and is still here and not even injured. I believe he was tucked away in a nearby woodland and perhaps appeared again this morning heading back towards the Pub looking for food. I got a call about 9 ( i ve lost track of days and time ) and shot out there asap calling friends as i went. A fantastic chap came over to me within seconds of getting out of the car and told me where he had headed, off i shot and walked across the field towards the woodland and he appeard. I could tell he was looking at me thinking "is that her" ?? then the tail started going at top speed .He was dirty and hungry but otherwise not in bad shape. His back legs are a little stiff so we will take it easy for a day or two....infact he may NEVER go out AGAIN !!! This site is absolutely fantastic, the speed at which everyone works is stunning. Many many thanks for everyones help and support,it really does give you hope. Kindest regards from Bev & Paddy x..."he really doesn't know how lucky he is" .

- Paddy is safe - thanks to a call from a lovely Gent - Paddys owners were directed to a sighting of Paddy in the field by the flying fox pub - owners followed approach advice to the letter and he came to his very relieved owner - I cannot say how happy I am as the A5 is such a busy road at all times. He is a little subdued but owners will get him checked over

- So sorry to hear Paddy hasn't turned up yet. We'll keep our eyes peeled for him when we're up the Kings Wood part of Stockgrove, which is almost daily with our terriers, and we'll give him a shout every now & then too. Hope he's home soon. Keep positive. Emma & Jim

- Hello everyone , the support and speed of this site has been incredible. Thank you to everyone who has been looking for him and all your comments of support. A picture is on its way.
Paddy is 9, White with pale Orange markings and a docked tail.He is nutured and about the size of a Labradour. He was wearing a red collar with phone numbers and is micro chipped but that has moved so may need going over a bit to find it.He is VERY food orienated but a little wairy of Men, he WILL NOT be grabbed and needs to be handled gently as he is sensative and extremely inteligent. He WILL go to other dogs.He does take Vetmedin for an enlarged Heart so may well be exhausted. We were walking in the part of Stockgrove Woods in Leighton Buzzard OPPOSITE the main entrance to the park, i dont know the particular name of that area. We were deep into the Woods and as such Paddy has taken off and been seen crossing the A5 by the Flying Fox Pub on the Woburn Rd at Heath & Reach. That was Tuesday early eve and there have been no sightings if him today, Wednesday. I very much hope he has crossed safely back and is still in that area although we have covered it today with no luck.He may have carried on toward Woburn. He panicks when he cant find me so i know he will be trying. His vets is Hanna Harding at Heath & Reach on the outskirts of the woods and they will know him but my phone is always on.Thanks to everyone your support means so much. - Thank you Angus, I was just worried that you would be annoyed that I was going so slow. I have essj number, just spoke to her on the phone a moment ago. Not sure if there is a good area for a trap as stockgrove area is so vast.
I have done all through Woburn areas & postsgrove & round stockgrove, brickhill and a5. Hopefully some dog walkers will see him this evening.Last edited: 2011-02-02 16:27:51 by CBC-Dog Warden - 2011-02-02 16:13 Nigel and Cathy
- So sorry to hear about your dear Paddy. We lost out Spinone puppy in July but thankfully he found us after 6 days so hopefully the italian luck will pass on to you! Best wishes in your search, wish we lived closer xx

- :-) I was trying to get close enough to see if it did say SDK on the van and then thought you might think I was a nutter ! - drove both ways through the woods and then back on the other side of the A5 back towards Woburn - CBC you should have mine or ESSJ's number if you need help - it is quite close to me and I also have a large trap in my garage should we need one at short notice - my phone is on 24/7 and please pass to owners - I will try to speak to them soon !

- Angus, you were following me, I was worried I was holding you up, didn't realise you were looking for the dog too!
- 2011-02-02 15:17 CBC-Dog Warden
- He is called paddy, I am sure the owner has only one spinone and lives with a smaller dog. As far as I am aware there has been no further sightings. We are still looking for him.
Police, CBC, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes councils, appledown & local vets have been contacted to let know.
I know that he has been shy of people yesterday when people have sighted him, so if found please approach slowly or contact owner straight away so that she can cone out as he probably more likely to come to her.
Thank you for your help Last edited: 2011-02-02 15:30:51 by CBC-Dog Warden - 2011-02-02 15:14 Angus
- haven't spoken with owners yet as I have been working but took a good drive around Stockgrove woods on my way to and from my clients, ended up following the SDK van through the woods - hopeful that this fella is home very soon.

- Hi, have called friends who walk @ Stockgrove early every morning, they have seen a lady walking Spinones there frequently, is this one of the dogs! Is it possible to have a name if it is seen, will it approach someone with dogs? Many thanks and good luck

- So sad to read about this Spinone being lost, we're willing him home safely.
Hoping he's home and safe by now
We're too far to help but see there's been a post put on the largest Italian Spinone forum here in the UK, so I'm hoping that will get many locals offering help on searches
Thinking of you, and if you need email/ph help I'm at haggerwoods@aol.com
Fingers, toes and paws crossed for a safe return today

- I have put this on the Spinone forum in case we have anyone local to help - I am too far away unfortunately. Stay safe boy.

- I was one of the last people to sight the dog, I had to slow down as he crossed the A5 from the Stockgrove area towards Woburn. My boyfriend and I were in touch with the owner last night. The exact point where the dog crossed was at the lay-by just before the Flying Fox pub. I was coming down the hill from the Milton Keynes direction towards the Flying Fox roundabout at about 5:15pm. Hope that helps people to search for him, and I wish the owner all the best in getting him home soon.
