Just received an email from owner.

We have found our Mikey he is fine a little confused bless him but happy at home with us we are absoloutley ecstatic we was so worried about him.

Thank you so so much for all your help.

We are so happy its a happy ending he was an hours drive away from where we live and was found on the rail way line near West Ham station.

MIKEY is HOME!!!!!!!!!

I have just had a call from his owner's daughter and he was found on Saturday in West Ham and hour's drive away on the train tracks by some workers. He was taken into kennels in Newham on Saturday morning. They contacted Battersea who rang the owner first thing this morning. He is currently sitting on his owner's lap having a massive fuss made of him.

Welcome home gorgeous boy!!!! I am so happy to hear this news!

Shelties usually come back to the spot they went missing from so important to keep scent/food and an open gate for him. Very tough resourceful dogs who can live on almost anything and smart at catching mice etc. Fingers crossed he's back soon. Too old to be out too long.

Thinking of Mikey and willing him to be found. I can come down to look for him on Wed lunchtime for the afternoon(although I hope he will be safely home by then!)

Have just contacted owner again and they are working so hard to find this little dog. Every possible thing that can be done is being done. Just hope they find him soon.

I spoke to Mikey's owner first thing this morning to offer to go to look for him today but she said that they were ok for help. I've left my phone number with them. She said he was 14!!! Hoping he'll be found today.

Have emailed BBC Radio Essex and Time 107.5 FM who are based in Romford and asked them to mention Mikey. Have also tweeted lots of dog loving celebs asking them to circulate his details.

Jason the presenter on Time (Romford area) has just read out my email. Also Marc Abraham the tv vet has sent Mikey's details out to all his 3500 followers on Twitter.

I have contacted LBC radio this morning and Steve Allen the presenter has just read out my email about Mikey giving all his details on air.

Owners have spent today searching, put flyers and posters up etc, no call as yet. Railway line been checked and thankfully all clear. Gemini kennels have been contacted who collect strays in Havering as have Battersea. Please spread the word everyone!

Have just spoken to owner of this old dog. He went out into the garden last night and just vanished. They have found a tiny hole at the bottom of the garden that he could have got through. He is completely deaf but very spritely for his age. There is a steep embankment leading up to a railway line close by and owners have been up there to search. I have given them Network Rail's number. Dog warden, vets, police have been informed. Photo is being sent to my phone and I will make up poster and flyers when it arrives.
