Really great to know this dog was claimed by it's owner, well done Sammi-T, would be great if you stay onboard doglost to help us in this area!

Thanks Sammi-T for your enquiries, shame it wasnt Copper (Sounded prommising for a while) ,but glad owners have now claimed the dog,the dog probably bit someone because it was scared!

DW just called me back. It was taken to Bath Cats & Dogs home and claimed by it's owner. Sorry it's not Copper, but glad it's gone home x
Sam U
Ooh, DW did say if the dog had bitten someone then it may have been seized under the dangerous dog act. Poor thing - under "normal" circumstances I bet the dog is lovely.

Not much luck! Contacted the police station who told me that any dogs they would pick up (which is unusual) is taken by the dog warden. Contacted BANES dog warden who knew nothing about it. She is going to call Keynsham police now herself and enquire. Will call me back if she finds anything out. Not sure what else I can do.....I don't have much time later, but will try and pop into the police station in person and enquire

Just spoken to my dad and he said the pic looks identical. I'm going to give Keynsham police a call to see what happened to the dog. Fingers crossed x

I have sent this info to the BANES DW - unusual for the police to be involved?? Strays go to a kennels in Bath. Please let me know if I can follow this up.Last edited: 2011-02-06 19:31:55 by dinkydoodle

It didn't seem to add all my comments, so here's the rest.
The policewoman said she was trying not to touch the dog as it had already bitten someone. She said it was a stray as it had no collar. Dad did see the van later driving through Keynsham high street so perhaps they took the dog to Keynsham police station (near Bristol) to be collected by a DW? Sorry this is all the info I have.
