Report in Edinburgh evening news.....2 dogs on the loose in bath gate with leads attached....one black lab and a Ginger dog. Black dog has been caught and is with bathgate police. Poss worth blackys owner contacting the bath gate station again? As we know from previous missing dogs....sometimes the connection isn't made! Good luck

No Leona, this dog was sighted recently. DW in the area has been informed along with police offices. It perhaps is not Blacky but it is the person who gave the information was sure it looked very like him.

Just another thought and sorry to put a dampner on things but you dont think dog sighted could have been missing Abbie who is now reunited but was lost in the area under 2 weeks ago?

Thanks Sable, hope owner has informed West Lothian Dog Warden as Falkirk wont cover this area x

It doees seem a very long way for Blacky to have gone, if it is him. Someone must have taken him there, but owner's son was alerted to a stray dog identical to Blacky which had been wandering around Boghall area in the last 2 weeks. Will ask for email alerts to be sent out in the area.

Hoping it is him and he is caught...from Liz and black labs Holly and lilly.

I cant poster as no printer, but I can walk the area and look out for him, any chance of alerting helpers round the Bathgate/Livingston area as this is quite far from where he originally went missing?Last edited: 2011-02-14 20:36:18 by Leona*

Called owner and gave advice. Also sent advice by email. Sent poster to Scottish rescues.Blacky went missing down by the river Carron while out walking with his owner. Please look out for him. He was wearing a collar and tag when he went missing and he is microchipped. He likes to jump into the river for a swim, but the river was very high that day, so hoping he has come to no harm.Last edited: 2011-02-06 10:45:08 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

Sorry to see that BLACKY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (27841)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
