- May be a total long shot, but a dog described as a 'Black Airedale' was found in the Town Park area in Runcorn today. It was apparently in a bad way (looked very hungry, stray looking, etc.), and has been taken to a local vets. If I hear any more info, I will post it here x

- Barrie, gutted with the results of the footage. Do try the papers again even going further afield, you just need that one person to recognise her as a new puppy in the area etc. Keep your chin up you have done your best. Jan x

- Just heard back from the police (finally). They got the cctv footage, unfortunatly there were no good shots of the mans face to use. They did however confirm the ladies story from the shop and what happened. Dead end I'm afraid, we will just have to keep putting Lucys picture out there and hope someone recognises her. I have to say, I'm extremely upset about this and hope she finds her way home at some point.

- hi Barrie, added Lucy to my FB page in case she has gone further afield.I hope this helps
- 2011-02-15 11:36 Barrie
- Heard back from the police. They will not be able to get hold of the CCTV until the shop owner returns on Monday, due to this not being a high enough profile crime they will not get a warrent to take the tapes themselves. They will however still go and get them Monday.
- 2011-02-14 20:33 Barrie
- Thanks everyone. Not heard anything back from police yet, also waiting for papers to get back to me.

- Been in contact with police now and they have now officialy put her down as stolen. They are going to check the cctv footage and see what they can do.
- 2011-02-14 16:44 Deb4gsd
- How frustrating to have her picked up safely by the woman, only for some scum to come along and 'steal' her saying he owned her! Hopefully if he sells her on to innocent people, they will see the posters and return her, or if she gets taken into vets by new owners, she will be recognised! Hope she's safely back home very soon!

- Thanks jaynkate7769 for passing the info onto Andale Vets, I've not long spoken to them to clarify if they received the email with poster attached, they have confirmed they have and the poster has been printed and is on their Notice Board (thank you to Andale Vets).
It is always strongly recommended that vets are contacted (going further afield as far as possible) and important a poster is handed in to be displayed ideally in the waiting room. Some vets are very good and will print emailed posters off, my own vet does that and also forward onto other branches. Jan x

- Hi, Gave Andale Vets the information about Lucy. Really does need a poster displaying on thier notice board though because they stapeled the information into a lost and found book and put it in the drawer! Apart from the girl I spoke to, unless they looked into the book, they wouldn't know she is missing. x

- Thanks jaynkate7769 and Nina.
I've updated the details of the man taking her to show up on the DL poster. Have also done various size posters and emailed to Barrie and also Alder Vets, they have been very good in the past and dogs registered on DL have been handed in there. It is over the other side of the Bridge but I did mention them to Barrie yesterday and said to try vets further afield as to where they live. Jan x - 2011-02-13 21:31 Nina
- Contact the local schools and ask to put a poster up. If the man has taken Lucy home and has children they wont be able to keep a secret.
- 2011-02-13 21:25 jaynkate7769
- I hope you can identify the thief tommorrow. I am at Andale vets in Widnes tommorrow morning as one of mine is in for her spay. I will let them know about lucy. Unfortunatly I don't have a printer so can't take a poster but will let them know just in case they hear anything. Good luck xx

- Barrie hope the shop have this guy on camera, it will be a big help in identyfing him. Good luck tomorrow. Check the email I sent with the info/advice and keep checking the sites that are in it. Jan x

- Not great news I'm afraid. We found a woman who found her yesterday outside the local shop, she and the shop were working out a poster to go up and she was going to take her home. While they were doing this a man came and and said that it was his pup and took her, this was the last she was seen. We are going to visit the shop tomorrow as the shop has had a problem with theft in the past and is full of camera's with no area of the shop uncovered. If we see this man in the video we will be handing this over to the police. We will also be contacting all the vets in the area, Will keep you informed.

- Thanks jaynkate7769, Barrie was advised to contact Warrington RSPCA and they have also been sent details when I did the emailing out. The RSPCA does not take in strays in and is used for rehoming, but finders do get in touch with them when they find dogs. The word is getting out about Lucy and it is only a matter of time before someone makes that most important call. Once the vets are open tomorrow they can be contacted.
Thanks juliem, for spreading the word.
Photo/s now grouped together for the posters, also added that she is a Patterdale/Border Terrier, she looks more like a Patterdale. I'll do various size ones now and email to Barrie. Jan x - 2011-02-13 16:53 Barrie
- Thats great Julie, Thank you.
- 2011-02-13 16:05 juliem
- Just letting you know I have posted a message on Freecycle as they have a lot of members in the area. Although it isn't used for finding missing pets, the moderators are really good and have let me put it on there. I will let you know if anyone sees her. Good Luck!
- 2011-02-13 15:37 jaynkate7769
- Hi, sorry it wasnt Lucy that was picked up. There is also an RSPCA in Warrington. Is it possible she could be taken there also? Keeping everything crossed she is home soon xx

- Spoken to family and give advice etc. Have updated the details to show up on her poster. Family have started spreading the word and postering the area, they are putting posters through doors.
I've checked with Halewood RSPCA in case she has been handed in. Given family the AW contact number to register her with them, there is nothing on their site at the moment matching Lucy's description. Keeping everything crossed she is found soon. Good luck.
