i have tried lots of things to find meno but with no luck, i have tried all the police stations in the north of london areas with no luck, nobody has handed my meno. i find it strange that they should have a record of what is handed to them and when i tried to register that he is missing nobody was interesed. despite the finders of meno's lookalike saying that they left messages on the phone, i do not believe them, the machine registers the time and date of the call and it was not as they claim. also if they handed him to the police how come nobody remembers him or register him in their books, they have other dogs but not meno. i was ill and my mother is very ill now, both of us are depressed and cannot face seeing other dogs, especially living in an area full of meno's friends who constantly knock on our door asking for news. i am resigned to the fact that he is not with us anymore. i would be surprised if he is still alive without his medication and if anybody has had him, he or she are paying huge bills to the vet. thanks all for you kind support and i hope that you keep meno in your prayers and wherever he is might find peace and happiness.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to South Harrow Police, they have no record of a yorkie handed in over the dates given. But they told me to try Harrow Road Police, because sometimes members of the public get them mixed up. I have spoken to them and I need to ring back at 3pm. Will keep you updated.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The dates given by the manager are the 17th or 18th March. I have asked Battersea to check for around those dates, they have two - one from January and one from April. None from March. Need to tackle the police now. Will come back to you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Menos owner has given the contact numbers that were left. The first mobile number was a digit short. But after a bit of work, I have traced them. The lady with the mobile, is a manager of a elderly persons sheltered housing complex. She claims that one of her residents family had found a dog and brought it to the old lady. She decided to keep it, but the Manager, saw it and told her she had seen a poster of a missing dog, she then went and fetched the poster to the shelter. They all agreed, that it was very similar to Meno. The old lady, immediately left a message on the ansaphone of the number given on the poster (020 8205 1271). The Manager also called the same number leaving the same message, and left her mobile number for further contact. They didnt receive a reply to messages left so they handed the dog over to South Harrow Police. They claim that this happened several weeks ago, not recently. The manager has said she will come back to me with approximate dates a.s.a.p. We need this date to contact the police and Battersea. Meno is chipped, so it could be a case of his chip wasnt picked up or its not Meno. Will get back to you all when Dee and myself get more info to go on.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any good news yet? I want you to know that I am thinking of Meno all the time. Can I do ANYTHING to help? I have recently taken in 2 very old dogs, Snoopy a 15 year old maltese terrier that was found around dover, he had been on the streets for weeks and was very thin and had broken teeth from scrounging. He is safe now and extreemly happy. The other dog is about 16 years old and has cancer and NO teeth, he was dumped but he now has a very good, happy home. There is allways hope and there is allways a person like me who will take in these dogs. Just keep your hope up at all time. JustineLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hgeorge there is a very special bond when you keep a pup from birth thats what I did with Star she was the 1st born out of a littler of 5 the only bitch and I couldnt stand to break the very special bond she had with her mother Keatah. I dont favour her out of all my pets but there is a special something. I think you would give a poor dog with a rough start in life and a doubtfull future a great home. You dont hear of many dogs living till theyre 16 you must have took great care of her. Good luck whatever you decide to do. Take care SharonxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thank you for your kindest notices, i do appreciate it a lot and i pray that nobody faces loosing their child. meno was my child and now it feels that my life is empty without him. as for homing an unwanted dog, i might do that. i will visit battersea and see if i can handle it. it will be strange bringing another one to the house. meno was special, i had his mum when she was 8 weeks old, she stayed with me for 16 years and he was her no.5 child, she had 5 and he was her last one, i had to help her deliver him since she was too tired to, so i helped pull him out and break the bag for her to clean him. so you can say i had him from minute one. he was my last link to her and he is gone. my fault was i did not mate him to have his puppy, i regret this a lot. his brothers and sisters, two in chezslovakia and one in golders green but he is nutered, and one in wales who is also nutered. maybe i will fall in love of one who is abandoned and wants a mumy to take care of him/her. thanks to all of you who keep me going. love, HananLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I go every week to battersea Dogs home so I will look out for her but have noticed she is chipped and they do check every dog that comes in to see if they are chipped, but I will still keep and eye out for her. will print out your poster and take it with me to put on their notice board it may just jog someone memory. If you report your dog missing to the chip company, they will not change the details without you knowing. Try pubs for the posters - I found them all really helpful - and stick them up anywhere where dog walkers go - parks etc. Thinking of youLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hgeorge I think when they recruit police officers they take away their compassion for other human beings. If I was 1 Id be out of a job very soon as Id break all the rules. If you did get another dog it doesnt meen you would replace Meno youd never do that. Have you thou thought about taking on an unwanted dog at a rescue center, the rewards youd get from that would help you. We all know how much Meno meens to you and pray you'l have him back with very soon. SharonxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

i found out definately my dog was stolen since a white van was spotted outside my house waiting for an opportunity to get any dog from my area, since my area is full of dogs and cats. when i went again to the police they were not interested and again they made me feel helpless. not a day passes without me thinking about my meno. friends suggested that i should get another dog, i cannot think of another dog to replace my meno. i have been putting the stolen poster in my area and north of london hoping for some reaction. my love to all, hananLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dolly is with Petlog and I rang the day after she went missing to report her missing (sorry bad grammar but in a hurry), I then rang two weeks later to make sure they had pressed the 'save' button when I reported her missing and had a good conversation with the lady on the phone. I was worried that if somebody had her and knew she was microchipped that they would try to change the details into their name, she said that Dolly is down as missing and that they would not change any details without contacting me first, she then confirmed my contact numbers and address. I have every intention of ringing periodically to check that they still have Dolly down as missing and not with a new 'owner' just to make sure. CandyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thank you all for your constant support. i went around and tried to put posters with rope but it does not work that easily. also shop owners are so nasty when you ask them to put something on their windows, their windows are full of card phones leaflets etc. it is frustrating. a lady contacted me at home to say that if my dog was microchipped, the microchip company can change details without my knowledge. is this true? if a shelter home find a dog and after 7 days nobody claim him/her they can change chip details to new owner? this is very disturbing. i will contact chipping company on monday to find out.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry to say but this makes me laugh and cry at the same time! Our dogs are missing and God knows whare and we get the council complaining about trees! Since losing George my eyes have really been opened to just how many sick and nasty people there are in this world who seem to think its really funny to phone you up with the sole intent of upsetting you. I won't repeat some of the things I've been told. I'm sure nobody like this would have the brains to even steal a dog, let alone be able to keep it, rest assured, I'm sure they haven't got our babys, they're probably being looked after by someone who's bought them unawares and its only a matter of time before we get them back. Thats what I have to think to keep me sane. Besides Meno and George are so gorgeous who could possibly hurt them???Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

i touched him and held him for one minute, he was a young dog, with long tail, very well looked after. he had his hair groomed. he did have a funny walk and he looked to me to be a young dog. his owners are the third house from the school and the lady of the house was very cross when i tried to hold him a second or two thinking i might be trying to steal him. this dog had pointed ears, my baby had floppy ears. meno is now missing for 13 days and i doubt he can survive this long without his medication. i leave his snachers to God to deal with, he knows how to reward them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

i went this morning to look for him and met gina who spotted him in the harrow weald area, she showed me where she saw him, so i hunted the area until i saw a yorkie which was running on his own, i chased after him and his owners were running as well, i checked him just in case it was meno since this one the spitting image of my baby, unfortunately it was not him. i think gina saw this one thinking it is my baby. never mind i am sure i will reunite with my baby soon. thanks all of you who keep me going and living in hope.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

gina i got lost in the area trying to find you or the location where you found him, i just came back home and i will try again in the morning since now it is too dark to look for him if he is hiding. looked and put posters in all of long elmes road and headstone lane up to wealdstone, i could not find school so if i call you tomorrow can you show me? i do hope i find him soon. the idea of him wandering now upsets me more than knowing he is missing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've spoken to the owner too now. I went back today, so 24 hours after I saw him. tehre is a pet shop right near there, but they hadn't seen him, but they put up a sign in their window. The owner is coming down tonight and I have offered to meet her and show her exactly where I saw him. There is a big high school there, maybe he is in the grounds?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have tried to contact the owner of this dog and left a message. I am quite sure I saw him yesterday in the Harrow Weald area (just along from Hatch End High School, at junction with Long Elmes approx 3pm 22/03/05. walking along with a sideways limp, sniffing about, looked fine. WHY DIDN'T I STOP? Arrrgggh. I thought it was a 'latchkey' dog y'know? I thought I would check the site as he stuck in my mind. Now I can't believe there is a dog missing nearby of the same description, it has to be him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Menos parent, It doesnt take much these days, people take what they want when they want without any feelings whatsoever! Dog theft is such a huge problem we have dogs stolen by drug addicts, gypsies, puppy farm owners, and people who just pick up a dog because they want it,like my Alfie, stolen yorkie may 19th. These people have no hearts and they don,t give a shit how it effects the owners of these dogs. Every day for 10 months I have done everything to find my Alfie and I am not alone. Please see www.dogtheftaction.co.uk for details on how we can all help eachother, please also see my dogtheft petition. All the best and If I can help you know I will. Hi, to answer your question this world that we live in is such a terrible place... and i can't understand why people can't leave other people's belongings alone, there are so many people who can't have a heart cause if they did we would live in a better place, and people's belongings would be safe. Take care. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
