There is never any excuse for any dog to have to suffer the way you did, I hope whoever caused this is found and punnished. RIP Star x

With such a heavy heart and tears I have to move this little girl to rainbow bridge. She lost her fight last night and is now free from pain at the Bridge. thank for for trying to save her though rescue.

Poor, poor girl. EGLR are a good rescue and have done wonders in the past, so keeping everything crossed here for Star to pull through.

Just checked the site and saw this update:

On Thursday evening Star was given only a 5% chance of making it through the night but we are happy to say that she is still with us and fighting. She still has a very long way to go and is still very very ill so we are taking it literally hour by hour, she is being fed very small amounts of food at every hour and is being nursed 24 hours by the vet team. It is still very early days but is receiving the best possible care.

OMG pics of her are on their website, it's awful......she is so thin and has sores everywhere - they are not sure if she will make it. They are asking for donations as they are stretched to the limit with funds. I really wish the people who have done this are caught.

A dog was stolen from Tadley, nr Basingstoke a couple of weeks back, I'm sure that was a tan whippet/lurcher. Tadley Pet Supplies would know about this as I read a lost notice in their shop put up by a member of staff. Hope this helps.

I'm the person who found her. We have named her 'Star'. She has now been transferred to Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher rescue where they will feed her a little every 2 hours to build her up. The only thing that appears wrong with her is a bad case of worms and mange. Poor little girl
