Thinking of you Lizzy, you have my number if you need anything.x.

Lizzy, sad to read your post and my heart goes out to you for your loss of your special friend. Please can he just stay on our site as lost just in case he has been taken in by someone. You have had great team out there looking, and he can stay on site as long as you want.
LizzyC
Dear Everyone,

First of all I am very grateful of your help and I know that if Milo had been a younger dog we would have found him. A have spoken to many people now that know dogs and him and and explained everything. He had become very old and had mild diabetes, which didn't need drugs. He slept most of the day and seemed to have various aches and pains. He never ran away from anywhere. maybe would have gone for a wander but nor run. I am now sure he felt very old and ill and ran into the woods to die peacefully as dogs do. He ran away from people that tried to catch him. This is a lot better for him than constant trips to the vet. I am sure of this and I am now grieving my special dog. Please can we stop posters etc and seeing them upsets me.

Thanks for all your help and I hope you understand.

Lizzy xx

Huge ad in evening post for Milo. Bumping
LizzyC
Thank you everyone for doing this for Milo x
dinkydoodle
Furryhound and I have had a look around inside the fuel tanks this morning - thanks to the chap who came and drove us round and did himself look in the nooks and crannys, all the workers will be keeping their eyes peeled - but to no avail :( Kerry1 and o/h was at the same time scouring the woods above us - but to no avail :( I put up some more posters along Berwick Lane through Compton Greenfield and handed out some fliers to various people, 1 chap who said he owned the surrounding fields so was around there all the time. We just need that 1 sighting so we can close in on this little lad, Milo where are you?
ML
Good luck tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you and Milo. xxx
abbeyjune
Have put on Twitter to circulate. If he has been taken in I hope someone will recognise him. Please know that people are thinking of you and saying a prayer for your lovely Milo xxx
LizzyC
They have been searched and searched, my lovely dog seems to have just vanished I just don't know where he can be? Thank you furryhound.
furryhound
I was up in Haw Woods for nearly 3 hours this afternoon. I went in from Oakhill Lane in Hallen and searched the area behind the fuel tanks on Hallen Hill then across through the main wood as far as the M5 bridge. I hope we can get a thorough search in the fuel tank sites tomorrow.
Lisa123
Good luck for tomorrow. I will be thinking of you x
LizzyC
Thankyou so much I have a load of posters do you want them? Lets pray sunday brings something .
dinkydoodle
OK, all sorted for searching woods and fuel depot on Sunday - thanks everyone, let's hope we see this elusive little chap.Last edited: 2011-03-11 22:34:21 by dinkydoodle
Kerry1
Hi Lizzyc, do you want some help Sunday looking for Milo ?
LizzyC
Thanks ML it is so sad.
ML
Lizzy, I feel so sad for you and i'm so sorry that you haven't had any news or calls about your little boy. I hope that this weekend brings some news. Thinking of you. xxx
LizzyC
Dinkydoodle very kindly came back to the woods with me, we had a good search but nothing
furryhound
I can make Sunday morning but not till around 11ish. Can anyone gain access to the fuel tanks as they cover a huge area?
ML
I think a group search is a great idea, the more of us the better as he could well be lying low. I will of course be more than happy to come along although I am working Sat and Sun 6-6 and start at 3 on Mon. We won't give up Lizzy, we will keep looking. xxx
LizzyC
Anyone else?
Kerry1
Weekends are best for me as I work in the week, or evenings but may be to dark x
LizzyC
I have chased up the man with the van sighting just to get his timings but the last sighting of Milo by someone who actually knew him was in Haw Wood. Very sadly my feeling is that soemthing happened to him in there so I would like to do a group search of the woods, when could everyone come? I can do any time but support would be great. LizzyC
Kerry1
Hi Lizzyc, I have postered SB but not been able to do Easter Compton yet as 1 of the dogs is unwell today will try over the weekend. I have passed the posters out to people whilst walking and they have all said they will keep eyes out and had noticed the posters all over this side of Bristol, which is a positive thing. Will you be arranging a group search let me know and i will definately help. Also did you email Many Tears re the lost and found page ? xLast edited: 2011-03-10 14:42:27 by Kerry1
LizzyC
Nothing at all I am so upset.
ML
Went to Viking vets this morning and they asked if Milo was still missing and said they were still on the lookout for him. Have u had any calls today Lizzy? xx
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
So sorry to hear about the prank calls...keep strong!....sorry when you phoned me earlier today I did not have a good signal...You will get an outcome with the press coverage.
abbeyjune
Am so sorry you have had prank calls.I keep checking this page for news of your lovely Milo. Please rise above them. You and Milo are worth so much more!Am thinking of you xxx
LizzyC
Oh ML that is a pain for you. I will just do more of the same tomorrow xx
ML
Horrible people! I popped to the shop earlier and had my phone stolen so Lizzy if you need me to do anything post on here and I will check DL as often as I can.
I am also planning to go up to the woods tomorrow if I can. xxx
Lisa123
Oh Lizzy that's horrible! Hope you have some good news soon. Your little Milo has to be somewhere x
LizzyC
Thanks, it has just led to two prank calls from kids - horrible!
Spindle
Milo is in the evening post today. Bumping.
LizzyC
Thank you furryhound, are there enough posters around there? LizzyC
furryhound
I spent half an hour in the woods from the lane to Berwick Lodge by the motorway bridge. There are loads of deer in there so watch out if any searchers plan to take doggies who like to chase! There are also large fuel tank enclosures all the way from there to Hallen so if Milo has got in there he may not be able to easily get out and nobody can get in there to search. Will try to go up again at the weekend if not before.
LizzyC
OK went to dogs home and they recognised his picture straight away so I feel reassured that they are looking out for him - not one call :(
Kerry1
Lizzyc, not sure if thi would help but many tears a rescue in Wales have a web site and this is viewed by thousands they ahve a lost and found page, maybe worth while emailing them Milo details so they can add him to the page www.manytears.co.uk
LizzyC
Thank you so much Kerry1 x
Kerry1
Hi, I have postered new passage, I can finish Severn Beach, Pillning and Easter Compton today and tomorrow.
dinkydoodle
Kerry1 or ML can either of you pop up some posters at the rugby clubs along Station Rd please, LizzyC would be really grateful.
LizzyC
All that area is covered in posters apart from rugby club I am going to dogs home in morning could anyone else do rugby club? There is a much more direct route to the woods than your mum saw him going in but it must have been him as it's the time he went missing. There are now no sightings since sat morning in the woods and the possible van sighting . I question the can sighting as the top of henbury hill is a long way from the woods.Last edited: 2011-03-09 03:17:42 by LizzyC
dinkydoodle
Have the rugby clubs and sports grounds along Station Road been postered? And those roads ML has listed below?
ML
Lizzy, I spoke to my mum. She said that she was stood on the bus stop on Station Rd at about 09.10 when she saw a white and tan jack russell type dog running along Greenlands Way and then turn left into Meadowland Rd where she lost sight of him. This would have meant that he was going in a anti clockwise direction around the estate and could have then carried along Meadowland and turned right to go up to Haw Wood. Does this tie in with the timings that you have? x
dinkydoodle
Kerry1, if not already covered, would you please be able to poster Severn Beach, Easter Compton and Compton Greenfield?
Has Westbury on Trym also been done? Sorry I'm not able to help poster until Friday but ML and LizzyC you have covered such a huge area. Glad the woods have been checked again. I have sent LizzyC the scenting instructions so maybe worth a go from your friend's house? Please still keep positive, it is still early days.x.Last edited: 2011-03-08 19:04:19 by dinkydoodle
LizzyC
A friend went to the woods and the posters are very clear but I just don't think he is there - I really think he would have been spotted,Last edited: 2011-03-08 17:43:28 by LizzyC
LizzyC
Thank you - it is very weird. Not one call:(
ML
I have just got in from postering. I have postered top, middle and bottom of Over lane in Almondsbury, Berwick Lane and The dual carriageway both ways going up to cribbs and I ran out of posters! Driving round, I have seen so many I can't believe you haven't had a call either.
LizzyC
Where have you managed to poster today? Any areas you think I should do tomorrow? I have just done the bottom of the Berwick Lodge Lane and the gate half way up - driving around they are everywhere I don't know why I haven't had a call. I will go to Dogs Home first thing. Thanks so much for helping xLast edited: 2011-03-08 16:42:35 by LizzyC
ML
I will clarify with her when she finishes work but I think she may have seen him before he went into the woods as she said he was heading toward Meadowlands which is where he would access Haw Woods. xxx
buster
from BUSTER hope you get home soon milo, Im geting my owner to keep a look out for you.
LizzyC
I have done something for Heart Radio and just put out 50 more posters round blaise and a place past Hallen I didn't really know where I was. Thanks ML I had thought Cribbs a possibility. But then did your Mum see him on the road outside the woods or was he heading into the woods?
ML
I am really thinking due to the lack of sightings that Milo has either been picked up or he is still in the woods. Haw woods are huge and there would be lots of places to hide. I have been looking at the map and am going to poster Cribbs, Almondsbury, Hollywood lane and Berwick later today if I can do them all, If not then def tomorrow. I was also thinking, although don't know enough about it - that maybe an item of clothing or vacum contents could be left near to where he was last seen just incase he is still in the area? What are peoples thoughts on this, is it worth a go? xx
Lisa123
I would do as ML said Lizzy. The chips can move can't they so it is best to double check with everyone.
ML
Lizzy, I think I would be inclined to go to the dogs home just for peace of mind and to keep Milo fresh in their minds. I would also keep in regular contact with the Bristol dog warden just in case. I so hope you get some news today. xxx
LizzyC
Thanks lisa
LizzyC
I am trying the rado stations this morning and then more postering beyond shiehampton should I go to hogs home and holly hedge to double chech tomorrow ? he is chipped though
Lisa123
Have put Milo on twitter and it is being re-tweeted x
Lisa123
LizzyC, please try and stay positive. I know it's hard and you will have all sorts of things going through your mind (I know just how you feel)but you are doing a wonderful job of trying to find your boy and you have some wonderful people helping don't you. Sending a very big hug your way xx

ML
Ah Lizzy, I really feel for you. Please don't loose hope, he is out there somewhere and we will find him! There are posters everywhere and you have done such a fantastic job of spreading the word, it is only a matter of time. Did you have any luck with the facebook page? if not, i'm sure that there are lots of people on here that know how to do it.
I will go out again tomorrow to poster Almondsbury. If there is anything else I can do then please let me know. xxx
LizzyC
Thanks Dinkydoodle and ML I am losing hope and I am so glad you won't give up. It is wonderful to have your support.xx
dinkydoodle
Thank you ML for putting up more posters today with LizzyC, you are doing such a fantastic job, he has to be out there somewhere. Come on Milo, time to go home now we won't give up until we find you.
LizzyC
There are now about 180 posters up thanks everyone for your help. If any one can help with further afield in Bristol I would be grateful. A classified ad is going in the Bristol Evening Post on Wednesday - all I can do now is pray. Lizzy

I am sure you will get positive news soon. Liz xx
LizzyC
Thanks ML I really appreciate it - talk in the morning. I hope your baby is fine.

Lizzy x
ML
No probs, ill give you a call in the morning to arrange. Just to reassure you with Southmead, I did put a poster on a lampost on the corner by the shops, by the park/field opposite the Wayfarer, next to another park by Victoria park obviously the bus stop and 3 of the bus stops going up towards Southmead.
Hopefully when I speak to you in the morning, you will have good news! xxx
LizzyC
Does anyone out there live in Pill/Gordano/Clevedon and could do those areas?

Thanks you
LizzyC
ML - thankyou so much - I hope your baby is OK. I did Southmead shops today as I saw you had done bus stop - I am very grateful. I am going to do vets in the morning - could we meet late morning to do Shirehampton/Sea Mills together as I don't know those areas at all? Lizzy
ML
I have postered Hallen, Knole Lane, Southmead and managed to get one poster up in Shirehampton before having to divert home rather quickly due to my baby hurting herself. If there is no news by the morning then postering further afield might not be a bad idea. Lizzy, I will be availiable to help tomorrow but I will liase with you first to see what areas need covering. Fingers crossed there is news of Milo soon. xxxLast edited: 2011-03-06 17:50:41 by ML

I've added Milo to gumtree, may take a couple of hours for the ad to show though.
dinkydoodle
Milo's owner is doing a great job postering all over the place, ML is out now covering areas as below, I postered all along the main road and shops through Lawrence Weston (Long Cross) and have registered his details with the out of hours DW at Bristol Cats & Dogs home, so far they have not had a dog in matching his description but are most pleased that he is chipped (and the details are correct). Chap I spoke with has given tel no to call tomorrow. Thank you to everyone for their help in spreading the word and getting this chap back home.x.

Thats good news you know he is safe. Now we j ust need them to see a poster. Really need to get details on gumtree etc to spread the word.
ML
I am really close to you too and grew up in Henbury so know the area well. Dinkydoodle is going to let me know if you need any more posters put up later and if so I will be out this afternoon.
Great news that you have had some info about Milo, hopefully now it will only be a matter of time before he is back with you. I will also share on my FB page and post to Viking vets in Henbury. I'm sure you have already been told this but please make sure you keep in contact with Bristol dogs home and go down there if necessary. xxx

Fingers crossed he is home soon :o)
LizzyC
Update Milo was spotted being picked up by a blue transit as he was in the middle of the road on Henbury Hill. It was being driven by two lads who put him on their lap and looked kind. They were heading to either Henbury or Lawrence Weston - going to poster round there. Feelng more hopeful.Last edited: 2011-03-06 10:30:09 by LizzyC

Have spoken to person from whose house Milo disappeared. Apparently there were a couple of sightings of him heading toward Haw Wood which is at the top end of Hallen. Have offered advice and will go out to help look for him tomorrow as know the area well.

Sorry to see that MILO is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (28402)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
