I would love to see a picture from the side for safety- I was told it is not him when I sent a picture to the rescue who first found him- but would be great to make sure myself. The number of the kennel is 01992 892881.

Photo now uploaded by the DW. She did send photos for both this boy and the Dobe previously to admin.....not sure whether there was a problem with the email arriving - will investigate but thanks to her for updating their pages on her return. So far not claimed, will be up for rehoming.

Also to add, not all chips are detectable straight away.

My cat is chipped, and when i took him for his annual booster last year, i asked the vet to scan him just to put my mind at rest that the chip still works, and NOPE the chip did not appear till after 4 goes....Vet said it could be because he is old now and the chip tends to go under certain bones, etc... happens with dogs that have lost weight the chip cannot always be detectable..

so if these people only scan the animal once, and dont get a chip, they gonna say ' NOT CHIPPED ' when the animal really could be !!

Does that make sense ?

Had a very long conversation with animal welfare - the person dealing with this dog is away till next week- the kennels he is kept at will not allow public access-nobody can take a picture and they would not give me the kennel's telephone number. I made quite a fuss and am very popular as i explained that several springer owners are having sleepless nights until they know if this dog is theirs or not. Then he looked up the records- dog NOT micro chipped or tagged- which he said was illegal (the tag) when I informed him that dos stolen from their gardens often do not wear their tags PLUS dog thieves unlikely to leave tags on the dogs they stole!!! Hmm- there is nothing we can do until next week but we need to do something about making the system better. In this day and age not to haver to take a picture and put on a database is ridiculous!!!! COSTS more (which is all that we need to say to catch the authorities' ears!)in resources and is less effective! Those owners who have lost springers without micro chip should call the animal welfare people to make a nuisance of themselves- it might help to change things a bit. The number is given above.
