Scooby would have been 10 years old in may. I keep thinking about how much he will have changed. My friends dog Sasha is the same age as him.... they grew up together. Sash has slowed down a lot,she walks with a waddle and has a grey muzzle...... I know Scooby will be the same. My son asked about him the other day.... he saw the photo of him by my the bed and asked where he was ... for the millionth time...... He said that he hoped that Scooby hasdnt forgotten him, that when he gets home he will and lick his face.......I wish I had the same hope and faith my son does..... I haven't the heart to tell him Scooby might never come back. I wish there wasn't people in this world that did things like this. Dogs are family, its like having a peace of me missing. I just hope wherever he is he's happy and treated well..... either that or Over Rainbow Bridge...... I can bear the thought of him hurting or scared. Why cant we get him in the Metro news paper? or on the tv? It might not be as important as some news but its so so important to me. Last edited: 2015-09-18 12:07:18 by heatherhickman

Update 2014: Scooby was sold in November 2010. Its been 4 years since I snuggled him in bed, 4 years since I heard his "happy whining" when I had a treat for him, 4 years since he lay on my lap to be brushed.......; Scooby turned 9 on the 5th May 2014, another birthday I missed. He has been missing for nearly 4 years. I'm giving up hope! Will I ever find my little man? Will he even remember me IF he comes home? What if he is too badly traumatised from his experiences or is to sick to come home? Is this all I can do to find him? Put up Posters, over posters.....and scour the internet for "For sale" adverts. Cant we get him on the news or something?
I feel lost, I feel sad and I feel like I have failed.

Hi heatherhickman. This is so sad and my heart really goes out to you. You'd think the best person to look after a loved family member whilst you're away would be an old friend! If you think missing dog 42884 might be your Scooby, i'd get back onto your chip company. Remind them again that Scooby was stolen, which should already be logged on his record, and make sure your details are up to date with them. If he is on the loose or been sold on again, more chance of him being picked up and scanned. x

Hi, still no news. We are still looking. We have now sent out another round of lost posters to vets in Wordsley. Hoping that this brings some news.
MHale
Surely there is a crime commited by this so called family friend. Selling stolen goods?! Get back on to the police, dont let them dismiss your case! Ask them what they are doing, what you can do to help and see if you can appeal to their better nature - good luck!

This is absolutely disgraceful. Shame on the Police. I have shared on my facebook page. Hope Scooby is soon back home where he belongs.
danria
Is there anything we can do to chivvy the police in this matter? This has got to be theft, if I left my car in a friends garage while I went on holiday and they sold it, that would be theft....wouldn't it? I'm so angry about the attitude of the police it was reported to.
danria

Sorry to see that SCOOBY STILL MISSING UPDATE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (28609)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
