e mail from owner:
This is to let you know that I have my little dog asleep on my lap. Handing out a hundred flyers and posting a load of posters paid off, and one of the horse riders I spoke to yesterday saw her today when two boys had found her. She wisely took the dog off of them, phoned me, and I got her back not long ago.

Thank you so much for all of your help! Now I need a cup of tea!

Remember Rowan 16250 he gave us (Spindle & his carer) the run around and eventualy just walked over to his carer who had her Seltie there ,,,and he had gone through really bad winter weather for weeks, so Shelties are very capable of looking after themselves As Spindle says once she stops running food and a trap can be put out..Last edited: 2011-03-20 13:04:49 by Reynard

Just got back from searching Bitham Park area. No sign, but more dog walkers asked to look out for her. Will look again tonight at around 5pm.

I wish I lived nearer to help but I am with you in spirit (not much use I know!!) I agree about taking some calm shelties out to look - they love their own kind as others have said. Is she a rescue dog or has she come from someone who might be able to help look for her? Good luck - everything crossed for you.xx
Spindle
Jessie was living with other Shelties, so I think a quiet calm one out there looking may help. Best talk to owner. She is still in flight, she doesnt know where she is going she is just scared. If only she would go in a garden where she could be shut in!! She is tiny only 12 inches to shoulder.Last edited: 2011-03-19 21:39:30 by Spindle

Hi Sheltie lover. Could I suggest that would be fantastic if you could take your shelties out on the search. Shelties always go to their own kind and as she doesn't know the area, could be all she'd recognise. Sounds as if she's still in flight. Needs to settle. Sorry but in Kent and too far away. Am supporting you though in thoughts. Sylv xx
sheltie lover
So glad she is still being sited, hopefully she will be caught by Monday, but if she is still out I will contact owner with offer to help search, will take a couple of my shelties which might help
DogLostReynard
Well done everyone , hope she is found very soon.x

Just a thought ,,,its sometimes possible when calling to a dog it is just noise or shouting i.e raised voices and Jessie may very probably think she is being told off, especialy if a nervous dog, best perhaps to keep voices low key, perhaps sit quitetly , do scenting and BBQ some sauasages, walk another Sheltie or small freindly dog which looks like to Jessie all very normal and not a thing to worry about,,,
That all depends on a sighting of course.
Good Luck xxx.

Did she come from an owner or a rescue centre,
if from a home could not her previous owners get down there?
the sheltie lady
Hi, we have also been advised of this poor girl - she has only been with her current owners for a matter of days and therefore will be very scared . I will cross post to the sheltie / collie forums.
Spindle
have send poster to dog wardens on my systems and to bath cat and dogs home and bristol home. This little one doesnt know a soul in the area she is running, hopefully sighting will come in soon.
DogLostShelties Mum - Area Volunteer, Kent
If anyone in that area had a sheltie it might help to take it on the search. Shelties love meeting their own kind so if she knows no one, one of her own might do the trick. Am in Kent so too far away, but Sheltie Lady might have contacts up there as she shows. xxx
Spindle

Shared Jessie's missing details on Facebook and also sent to Bath/Bristol Dogs Home, I hope Jessie is found safe and home soon.
DogLostShelties Mum - Area Volunteer, Kent
Very much a case of checking the spot she went jmissing with this one. She'll go back to the scent and an idea to leave some more at that spot. Admin can give top advice on how to scent. Will contact Sheltie Lady to spread the word. How did she get lost?
What format is the photo in? If on mobile can email or download on to computer which should come out as a jpg. If only a printed photo you need a scanner and most printers now have that, so can possibly find a neiughbour or friend with one. It would upload on to computer then can be sent xx
