Clever jess came home in the early hours...she had managed to travel 3 miles back home on a route that she has only ever done in the car...crossing several busy roads in order to get home.
Debbie
I'm thrilled to hear that Jess has found her way home! Hope she's not too worse for wear from her ordeal! Give her an extra cuddle from me....... xx

I am not aware of any where in the UK that rents traps out - if you are thinking of buying these are the ones that we use and they fold flat so are easy to transport
http://www.mdcexports.co.uk/?p=vulcan
a less expensive version but does not fold flat and are more difficult to set if you are not used to them is this one

hi sharon, really disheartened to hear of todays events. My friend texted me and said she had tried to speak to the wrexham dog warden about this but there was just an answerphone, so she has left a message and will update me with any advice. The park ranger she knows said surely the rspca should be helping because Jess is actually distressed if she is avoiding people. I have been searching the internet for ages looking for dog traps but they only seem to rent them out in US or Australia. Ebay seem to sell them on there, the cheapest one is around £150 but they are located in Lincoln so it's not so easy to go and get one. Wonder if it would be worth emailing and asking how long delivery would take? jo http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fox-Trap-Live-Catch-also-Dogs-Cats-/130405987836?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Plants_Weed_Pest_Control_CV&hash=item1e5ccd75fc

We ave been out again first thing this morning and no sign of her at all. The weather has changed and she seems to have disapeared from sight. I am trying to find where we can rent/ borrow a dog trap from as it may be the only way we can catch her. She is so afraid of people now that we may never see her again. The dog warden is no help at all and has advised that they don't assist in finding lost dogs. We left food out last night which remained untouched overnight which leads us to believe that she is avoiding the area where she has been living over this past week.
Sharon
Thanks jostenning. We have been out again tonight and sat in the car and waited to see if we could catch sight of her again and gently call her. We did not see her but she may have heard us. Its upsetting to think that she has been so traumatised by her ordeal that she ran away from the children and I. We are the very people who have always kept her safe. The children and I are going to look again in the morning and arrange with George & Ritchie to start looking from opposite ends of the track we followed her along tonight. She will hopefully be less frightened and enable us to catch her. X

Hi Sharon, Ritchie gave me a ring to say you'd had a sighting of Jess tonight but that she'd run off again. It was such a relief to hear that she has been spotted now and just a matter of time until you are reunited. Thinking of you and praying for the good news that you soon have your sweet girl home x
Goldenfrodo
Have you tried Nant Y Corn Kennels?
http://www.nantycorn.com/lost_dogs.htm

I've had a quick look but couldnt see Jess. Worth giving them a ring I think. Good luck.
Sharon
We are becoming increasingly worried that there have been no sightings of Jess. She is a distingtive looking golden retreiver because of her honey colour and small slim build. We will again widen the area to put up posters - moving onto Penyffordd and the Deeside area later today. We are going to hand out posters to shoppers in Buckley Saturday morning and around Mold Market in the afternoon.
Sharon
Hi jostenning what a small world! Thank you for everything you are doing to help find Jess. x
jostenning
Sharon, just found another website to list Jess on, http://www.alfieslostdogs.com./
Hope this helps x Jo

Hi Sharon, that's a great idea with the Leader as it's going to reach a lot of people in the surrounding areas. My other half (Ritchie) works with your husband, so that's where I had the info. from. I have internet access during the day at work, so have been checking for updates and on the other sites too. Also checking the Capricorn and North Clwyd Animal Rescues just in case Jess gets picked up and handed in. Thinking of you and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help, hope she is back with you soon x
Sharon
Hi jostenning I am the owner and it is correct that my husband tied Jess outside the Texaco petrol station on Liverpool Road. My husband started searching immediately and we have searched everywhere in the area since. We are assuming from information received that she ran off into the fields behind the petrol station. I am now concerned that someone may have taken Jess. This is not like her and I know she would try to find her way back home. We have adveretised in The leader last night and again tonight and the Flintshire Chronicle should be running a storey tomorrow.I have contacted all councile neighbouring Flintshire. We will not give up hope and will continue to search and make as many people aware as possible that she is missing. Thank you for all your help. x
jostenning
Hi Debbie, I think her owner popped into Texaco and she waited outside with her lead tied to a sign. When her owner came out of the shop seconds later she had gone, and cctv from the petrol station showed her running off as if something had spooked her. Her lead and the sign were found up the road in the garden of a bungalow. Assume that she is still wearing her collar as that was't there. Am just going by what my friend has relayed to me from his colleage and apologise if there are any inaccuracies.
Debbie
I'll be in Buckley tonight so will have another look... I'll take more posters too and print off some flyers. Does anyone know the circumstances behind her disappearance?
jostenning
Looked for Jess last night, mainly the Elm Park area, but no sightings. Posters sent to a few of our customers in Buckley to put up.
Goldenfrodo
Will crosspost to Golden Retriever lists. Hope this lovely girl is safely home soon x
Debbie
Faxed poster to local high school... this is close to the common, a local dog walking area. Come on Jess, come home.
jostenning
Hello, have also shared this on my facebook page and would urge all others, especialy in local area to do the same. Also posted on the pets and pet care forum on martin lewis moneysavingexpert website, there is a category on there for missing pets - a good way to get other users to put the word out on facebook. Finally, the dogs trust doggysnaps forums. Hope Jess is back home soon x Jo
Sharon
Thank you Debbie
Debbie
