- yes a member of my family went to dogs home but got told theres no dog of that description, i went to dogs home but went through to the kennals and left a poster for them incase she was brought in...but depending on day she got rehome posters could of been put up after but i still went back and still no sign, i placed posters around dog home area and in moston and oldam, also other parts of manchester and tameside and wigan because of someone saying they thought they might of seen her..i also emailed dogs home with her pictures and discription. on monday i thought of scrolling back on dog home face book page all the way back to 30th oct 2010 and theres nothing on there saying shes been in..im totally confused as to whats happening, my children are distraught i feel so helpless and upset

- This is very sad for both families. I'm a bit puzzzled as usually at MDH a person looking for their lost dog fills in a form with dogs description and where lost. Then they are taken round the holding kennels to look for their dog. Did this not happen?

- i know it must be devasting for new owner finding out that missy was missing and that there has been a family longing for her back home with us.I know it was wrong of me not having her micro chipped but never felt the need to because she never went out on her own and was a loyal dog on/off the lead. She has been in the family from 8wk old.I never lost faith in finding again, such as ringing people, hundreds of facebook groups that i joined i checked in hours daily, pet web sites, travelling for miles, sticking posters up, answering calls to people saying theyve seen her and me and my children getting our hopes up that we would find her.It hurts more now knowing shes out there some where and not at home with me.I was advised to tell my children that missy has been found and that shes well but to be honnest, its made it worse..ive had tears and heart ache today because they now know what i got told..its not fair that a micro chipped dog can be reunited after years of going missing but in my case its diffrent,i watched missy having pups in my home and one of them pups is still in the family who missy loved playing with and chasing. each time i went to MDH they told me no dog of missys discription has been handed in i also left a poster off doglost for them to check and still no reply, it seems that all the hard worki have done hours from end as been pointless, not only to find missy but to help other dog owners to find their beloved pets..please come home missy

- Owner has sent an e mail via doglost and then via the person who told us about the possible match to the new owner...both are incredibly upset at the moment...but hopefully with calmness and sensitivity we can keep the channels open so at least owner can be updated with how Missy is...and who knows...many weeks/months down the line...in a perfect world..if present owner needs to know someone will look after her dog whilst she was on holiday...their would be one very willing person to do so...Guess I should switch to reunited....just awaiting confirmation from new owner from the photos sent to her that it is Missy...I think we all know it is.

- Above is link to Missy's facebook page! Please can you join..the longer she is gone the more up setting this is for not just me but my children has they also miss her dearly, which was again shown yesterday by my daughter when finding that Missy's son had been taken to Manchester Dogs Home but luckily he was chipped and I got contacted to pick him up...which brought back memories to my daughter of the sisappearance of Missy and brought a tear to her eye which was upsetting for me to see and hear her say "I want Missy found".... Not only is it heart breaking for me not knowing but to my children being upset its unamaginable.another good thing missy did, is that she was a brilliant guard dog,she used to bark when people walked past my garden even if she was in side with me to let me know if some one was just passing by or to let me know i had a vistitor..missy was her own little character and loyal friend to me.....please join her fb group and share far and wide please. Thank youLast edited: 2012-01-05 16:12:56 by **son**

- Missy page has been bumped due to new photo/s and fresh appeal. Owner is well aware she could of been rehomed by now and the legal implications.
Jayne (HQ) will do email alerts a.s.a.p. Thanks Jayne. :) x - 2012-01-05 01:52 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Missy has been missing for over 12 months, family have never stopped looking for her and a fresh appeal is being done and new photo/s showing her markings received and grouped together. They have started a FACEBOOK group for her 'help FIND Missy'. We will help them share details. Someone may recognise her from the new photo/s. x

- Sorry meant to add WN4 area.
- 2011-04-05 19:49 Debbie
- Hi The dog that I saw had a darkish collar on, so Im sorry perhaps it wasn't Missy. The area where I first saw her was approx 4 miles from where I saw her a week later. Both Towns run pretty close to the East Lancs Road going towards Manchester, so quite a way from Hyde, but stranger things have happened? I did contact Leigh cats and dogs home to report this dog and the animal warden but no one has ever come back to me. I really hope that you find your little one soon, and of course, if I see the dog again I will contact you. Good luck.
- 2011-04-05 19:43 **son**
- no she didnt have a collar on...but she has been missing since 30th oct last yr...how far ithat from hyde, cheshire? please could you ring me if you her again
- 2011-04-05 15:30 Debbie
- Can I ask if Missy had a collar on? This is just a very long shot but she looks very similar to a dog that I saw on Bolton Road Ashton in Makerfield, then again 1 week later in Leigh Town Centre. I did on both occasions try to catch her but she was very frightened.

- missy was temporaily staying at a friends but some how escaped.I have visited dogs home as so as a family member. She is also on other pet sites but no body has left any possotive comments.I have sent the dogs home a picture via e-mail 2 months ago and i'm still waiting for a reply. It annoys me that i never had her micro chipped as she never went out on her own. she is very friendly and fantasic with children, in which mine truly miss her as of i do aswell. At times i have felt like driving the streets to find her as it breaks my heart in wondering where she is all the time. it is her 7th birthday in 2wks and it is so sad that she is not here with her family. But all i can do is just hope that someone does see the ads and gets in touch.....I will keep you posted if theres any progress.THANKYOU

- Sorry to see that MISSY is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (28877)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
