- There is apparently an older femaile yorkie up for adoption at Leigh dogs and cats home. If what I have read about this place is true, it would not surprise me if they did not bother to scan for chip...

- yes the police said it was on there computer system that a small dog was found dead on stockport road around 6pm on january 31st and was reported to the council to be removed by them.

- Michael that must be so frustrating. At least Newton Heath rang you back and told you what happens. It was the place I was thinking of. Do the police have a date when they they asked the council to remove a dog from Levenshulme, or even if if it was big dog or small dog, because there's another dog,a young German Shepherd missing from Levvy also.

- thanks goldenfrodo, and mumstaxi. and doggo i went to a council place where the bin men are from they told me animals get brought to newton heath and kept in a freezer until its full then brought to a insiniratur in burnley so i rang the place in newton heath left a message and someone called me back the next day an said they have only got cats no dogs. but the police say they did get the council to remove a dog from levenshulme.

- Michael Manchester City Council do pick up deasd dogs. Don't let them fob you off- it's the refuse department or whatever they call themselves- where the bin men work out of. And they should have a record of what animals they collected and when. Hope it's your dog that's been found in Stockport: getting the run around from the council is bad enough at the best of times but just terrible for you trying to find out about your poor lost dog. Fingers crossed for you.

Hope Tully is found safe soon x - 2011-04-22 18:46 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Michael, what a frustrating time for you. We have had a few dogs on DL where there has been reports of fatal accidents and no-one has been able to find out the details properly, this leaves owners then not knowing if it is their dog or not.
Hopefully someone has taken her in and she is being looked after and they will see a poster or any papers if you get something in. Not everyone knows what to do when they find a dog and that they should be reported to the Council Dog Warden by LAW.
99% of the time it is the POSTERS that get missing dogs home, you can never do too much. Jan x - 2011-04-21 23:19 michael
- i have been to manchester dogs home and have been in contact with animal wardens who had my other dog they say they dont have her. i contacted the police who say a small dead dog was found close to where i live and the council removed her but everytime i ring the council they say they never removed no dead dog they put me through to all diffarent departments then say contact the police again when i do that they say the council did remove a dog. i finelly got through to the place where dead animals are brought to and they say they only brought in cats no dogs.
