thankyou for your kind messages its well over a year now since the boys was stolen i still think of them everyday i really cant bare to look on this site any more its so upsetting it breaks my heart these people seem to be still getting away with it if my boys was chipped i could still hold hope but i know in my heart they are not and i know i will never get them back i just hope and pray where ever they are they are healthy happy and very much loved (love allways to our speacial little boys ) sharnne chris sarah danielle leah xxxxxxxxxx

Volcano thankyou for looking at alfie and jojo, i don't think the owner logs in much must be upsetting for her, both these tri-colour cavaliers have probably changed so much as being so young when taken , thankfully charlie the third a blenheim was found near travellers site with missing teeth, frightened of men and swollen back end. I know there is a high chance they could have been sold to unsuspecting people and they could have been chipped by new people but chipping means identity of dog not ownership and so it should remain there are so many un-chipped dogs on here their true owners wouldn't have much chance of getting them back if anybody could chip them and claim ownership, the only obstacle is if they have been picked up by a dog warden in another area they could be rehomed through some rescues or kennels and they don't have to give out details to where they have been re-homed. I really feel for this lady (and lily and puzzles owners i have posted on there page also) . Thankyou again and the true romany people who are helping you.

just logged on to this one as i have been busy with other stolen cavies these dogs are sold on time and time again from the back of vans at horse fairs i know for one of the cavies i have been involved with was recovered at blackpool horse fair for legal reasons i can not reveal the name of the person who was arrested but when he has been to court if he ever is i sure as h--ll will reveal his name i live in an area where there is quite a lot of travellers so i keep my eyes and ears open and i talk to a lot of people its surprising how much info you get this way always remain POSITIVE when the negativity sets in you have lost

Thinking of alfie and jojo everyday I am in Lincoln is there anybody this way I could contact, there is supposed to be a travellers site near newark have you tried to see if there is a gypsy liason officer for peterborough site. Linda Flynn is on humberside cavalier rescue near boston. There is still hope although yours are not chipped not all dogs are sold on to innocent people or dumped and re-homed through local kennels some dogs are kept on sites for years, my heart goes out to you......

I know exactly how youre feeling, my Roxys been gone since december 04 and i must admit sometimes i feel like giving up. I also never had her chipped but like you i didnt think it was that much of a problem. My dogs are also chipped now, but as you know thats no good to our missing loved ones. Dont feel as though youre letting youre boys down, Just give it a couple of days and see how you feel. All my love Shevaun x

Hi Sharnne, I can't imagine how you must be feeling, but please don't give up hope. Since finding this site I read every day about those who have lost their beloved pets and those who have been reunited. I have just read about a Staffie who also went missing in April and who has now been reunited with her owner. So you see, there is still hope for your two, keep strong for them x

ok alfie and joe joe is in the wisbech standard today i really cant understand why no one knows nothing ive done everything i can think of doing tv look east , the sun news paper,sent out over two hundred posters to rescue centres ,and dog wardens,leasion officers put up over eight hundred posters rang round rescue centres peterborough papers and wisbech papers once again theres got to be some one some where what knows something i really dont know what else to do COME ON BOYS MAKE YOUR SELFS BE SEEN i will not give up on you but im running out of ideas on what to do next does any one have any ideas on what i could do next ??? come on alfie and joe joe xxxxx

you cant give up i did try to but the next day i was back my husband thinks ive really lost the plot hes going on at me all the time i really think hes worried about me getting depressed with all the ups and downs it does make you feel ill but why im doing something i know ive not just sat back and done nothing we cant let these bastards get away with it to many dogs being stolen i think we should all get together and go to the sites our selfs its more than the police would do they scared to death but the only people to be arrested would be us for trying to do there job im sure when charlie was found on oxney road if they had a good look on the site they would have got alfie and joe joe BACK xxxx

Can i just point out, in case anyone who has read the Sun today and is looking at the theft of the two cavs, the time of the theft given was incorrect and wasn't a month ago but in fact over 2 months ago now - if you were offered a tri cav around that time or think you have bought one at that time, perhaps even a couple of weeks later, please let us know. It could be Alfie or Joe Joe. It is highly likely they will have been offered for sale by a member of the travelling community, and is possibly the Peterborough or the Newark area of East Anglia, or anywhere in between. Sharnne: might be worth you copying the article and sending it to the local dog wardens in the surrounding areas just in case any similar dog is dumped.

I just got you're email poster and I live in Newark. I will do all I can to help, I've printed off youre poster and will keep a good look out. I had my weimaraner pup stolen almost a year ago and no sign but all leads were traveller related! I did contact the police on 27th april, as the van that was probably involved in our case was in the area again, it was a white ford transit reg N908 XJW, it has green oak trees on but no business name or tel number. I was able to follow it around the council estate for a while before i lost them. the police didn't call back but said they would send someone out to see what they were up to as they were acting suspicious.

a friend of a friend of mine had her cocker spaniel stolen 8 months ago hes just been found in manchester he had been run over near a gypsey camp and the person who run him over took him to the vets and the vet traced his owner by his chip hes poorly but going to be allright just goes to show them chipps DO WORK just wish i had my boys done before they was stolen sharnne xx

right theres been onother dog a jr terrier stolen on the same road as us this dog was walking on the street when the owner saw two men looking at him then when the owner shouted the dog the men grabbed the dog and drove of with it we now have the van reg number T290ENV this is a red transit flat back so look out for it in your area this should be something to go on with the police but who knows the lady put posters out and the bloke has been seen to get out the van taking a great deal of interest in the poster

unfortunately it is becoming more and more apparent that there are certain areas of this green and pleasant land of ours that are becoming no go areas, even if they are council run let alone private! This is England not some third world country, there should be nowhere in England that is a no go area. The police in my area have always given me their time and are v. sympathetic but I have had no reason to ask them to go anywhere unsavoury. There was a time when policemen were big burly fellas with cauliflower ears and broken noses, now it's perma-tans and sunglasses.

Seems also the the police haven't told the whole truth and nothing but the truth about having been in the Peterborough traveller camp... thank god some travellers seem fit to be nice to the owners of lost dogs... they're of more use than the police have been here. I paid a ransome to get my dog back and have been blamed for making things worse and encouraging dog thefts for doing so. I am still waiting for a reply to my letter to the police asking what I was supposed to do as they were not in any way interested in the theft of my little dog - they did not even have a record of the fact that she was missing. I agree with Dee, there is more information here and the truth will help the other 2 dogs. It is bad enough trying to find the dogs without the police and council withholding information. Right I'm not going to mince my words here: the police AGAIN are doing bugger all to find these dogs... or the phantom texter/caller. If anyone feels like making complaints.... there are lots of things that aren't making sense: Sharnne is being told different stories about Charlie's recovery, none of which make sense and which the police, dogwarden, etc etc do not seem willing to try to sort out. It is imperative the person who found Charlie comes forward so we can see if we can locate the other two: who may have been dumped with him or someone may have been seen with Charlie. Yet again, dog theft isn't of importance to the authorities. Newspapers are being contacted again.

Have posters been sent to vet practices in Peterborough and what about the local libraries (there must be some way of getting addresses online). A friend (who lost her dog in Cardiff last year) also sent posters to the Royal Mail and refuse dept so posties and refuse collectors/street sweepers could look out (not sure how well that worked). Have had a couple of emails re people who will be putting up posters in Peterborough and surrounding areas (one has one on their van!)

Sorry its has been a while since i made my first post, but i remember when i worked as a barristers clerk, when the law changed about nuisence phone calls and texts. You need to speak to a superier officer and keep ringing until they put you though (they should eventually) they have to take notice, it does not take 3 months, i think its 8 weeks they told me! but as these are continuing all the time then this has to be more serious (sorry if i have repeated things that other ppl have said) I am sure you will get your dogs back! Have you thought about following them and seeing where they go to! play them at there own game!!!

Don't worry the dogs will tell you who their owner is-they never forget-The amount of reunions we have had wher the dog goes bolistic and literally knocks the owner to the floor-not once has a dog not recognised its owner even after 18 months in one case!

I am afraid that in the Thames Valley we have lost complete confidence in the Police to take any action where a dog is lost or stolen. I only hope that with the publicity of this case and especially all these text messages that the owner is getting that Cambridgeshire Police will take action to apprehend the person sending the text messages. It may or may not be the same ones that took all three dogs. It appears that we need in this country the Dog Wardens being turned into people with powers to investigate and arrest the culprits and operating 24 hours 7 days a week. With all the newspaper coverage that has been promised lets hope these three dogs and all the others stolen/lost are returned to their rightfull carers. As has been said trying to get past the call taker is a major problem in itself, this is what I found this morning it took 5 minutes for the operator to answer and another 10 minutes before the resource centre answered. There is a further problem in that how does the owner/carer prove the three dogs if found are theirs as they have not been chipped or ear marked. I realise this is negative but once again this case has proved that it is essential that all dogs are chipped, as then if they end up in a pound/rescue proof of ownership should be automatic.

Complaints are being lodged today... I understand the press has also made enquiries to see why answers as to why inaction from the police is taking place.. without a lot of success so far. Whilst we appreciate what you say about the individual policemen's time... the sheer number and content of these calls and texts over such an extended and persistent period of time should be sufficient for any officer to investigate under any circumstances, regardless of the fact that dog theft is involved. I cannot stress enough how bad the situation is at present for the owner of these dogs due to the content of these calls/texts.

I have contacted the Cambridgeshire Police Resource Centre. They have stated that they could not help without the incident number. However they stated any complaint should be in writing to the Chief Constable, I do suggest that an email complaint is also sent. Plus the owners should contact the Chief Constable by phone, and also the Inspector in charge of Wisbech. Plus ask O2 to contact these people and give the details they have. Please note I know it does not help but due to Government papework requirements a PC has only time for 90 minutes on the beat out an 8 hour shift, the rest 6 1/2 hours is tied up with paperwork. On the O2 website it tells you that they have an O2 Nuisance Call Bureau. As others say it may be worth making a fuss with O2, and as with police don't just stop at the person who answers the phone! Hope they all come home soon.

When dealing with the police, you have to get past the one that answers the phone - look at what happened with Sonny once a big fuss was made -and this is just as bad as the calls are just obscene - but you have to stick with them as it just might be they have the dogs. The thing is Jayne is ARE these calls a hoax or not? The police are still fobbing Sharnne off... if they actually bothered to contact 02 they would get the registered address of the caller immediately... but yet again they are not doing anything to help! If they had the address, they could go round and establish if it is a hoax or not... in the meantime the dogs owner is still getting these obscene messages and calls... after all there is that tiny bit of us that says... is it the thief? The police NEED to start acting on this case and NOW. Have just given owner details of the Chief Constanble and his assistant... and the complaints dept. Don't take any crap from the police, Sharnne. Of course they can trace the number: do they wait 3 months in a child kidnapping? Of course not!! See if you can persuade O2 to talk direct to the police rather than the other way round. Give them your crime number (assuming the police gave you a crime number?? Do not give up - suzy came home after more than 5 weeks and we really do wonder how she survived that long , but she did. I sent posters to everyone on my Christmas card list - all over the country - they could be anywhere. I will put posters up around Kent and Sussex - but, keep at the sites near you - even if they have moved the boys on, they will almost certainly have been taken originally by locals - I found schools really helpful - youngsters make great detectives. hi everyone, we have now managed to get computer sorted so we can put post on ( our appologies for not replying to anyone ) we have got the kids to put up posters at school and give them out. we have tried to poster all around the wisbech area but there is only my husband to do it as i am afraid to leave the house , they might return and steal my other cavs. please keep doing all you can we need as many people as possible to poster as much as they can. many thanks sharnne

dee friend of mine has done most pubs between lynn and wisbech,there is a big fair at wisbech about this time of year called goose fair goes on to nottingham from there,laura

Car boots have to be a good idea. Not knocking anyone who visits them all kinds of people do but you get alot of the not so nice people there. People who want to buy things cheap and also people who want to rid get of goods which they have come by in not the usual manner.

there is a horse sale in that area once a month lots od travellers go next one friday 15th,at lordsbride,barton,cambs.also try targeting terrington st clements area 5 miles from wisbech well known for rogues,try local pubs in that area

No, the owner hasn't lived in the area very long at all and isn't from the county originally so really does need help on this one.... if we can use maps and direct people including her to likely places to put posters, we'll go a long way to getting the doggies home again :)

well i have internet accsess..but i dont know much how to use it..i have most of the day free tomorrow from my kids (out with there dad) so i will see if i can do a search sure i can teach myself . just a quick question..does the owner of these dogs not know her own area that well,,i would have thought she would be the best person to tell ppl where to put posters would be. anyone willing to give me a pc lesson pm me. I'm sure you can help... Sharnne, the dog's owner needs help finding places to put the posters... once we have a more precise location on the area to focus on we'll be putting the call out for people to use the internet to find shops/pubs/garden centres/garages/roads/pounds/newsagents/supermarkets in the area and put the location of them on here... so that when people in the area are around they can pop a poster in or nearby so that we have the whole area flooded with posters... actually... we really should find the local main post office sorting office for this post code - so we can let them know... and the milkman's depot... so... if you have internet access and want to start looking for stuff... get posting - you don't need to be local for that! :o)

Thanks Lily that's exactly what we need. Local shops (other than pet related that doglost will've already have sent out to) need to be postered too... the type of shop that er undesirable theives would refrequent - places food is bought, supermarkets and small shops that say sell milk and bread, that sort of place. Can anyone identify likely pubs that would be in the area so we can ask people to pop a poster in them?

OK guys, come on lets "do a Suzy" on this... 3 dogs gone together is a travesty. We need: a poster with all 3 dogs on it (owner is doing something but Jayne can a doglost poster also be done?). We also need people in Wisbech and the surrounding villages to start postering like mad. It is very very likely these dogs are in the very very close vicinity... strong suspicion about this. Usual places to put up posters: near caravans... on lampposts, in garages, in your car window. Not sure who is in the area: if you are would you mind posting? Owner new to area so doesn't know many places so we need all hands to the deck. Please any suggestions of possible places needed - I'm miles away so I don't know area at all either... we just need to mobilise troops and get these babies home. Dee x
