great news...
Stacey
Yesterday was finaly a good day, Pebbles has ended her little adventure after 5 and half weeks! She is still on high alert, everytime i move she is up again and she whines as soon as i leave the room. But she is so happy, i wont be letting her out of my sight now. It was a long journey and at some points I thought she would never come home, but I am so pleased I didn't give up. We are living at my parents at the moment, so she is sharing her time with my parents dog, Dylan the beagle :) Everything comes together in the end! I'll be treating Pebbles to a nice new bed, collar & tag!! Thank you again everyone for your postive comments! x
Mollys Army
Amazing news!! I, like many people have been checking at least three times a day, just praying that Pebbles will give it up!! I'm so pleased the man just sat back for a while and let her relax. Well done to everyone involved, especially Stacey for being patient but consistant and never giving up hope.
Jaxx's owners, pay attention, you will get him back, just keep going.
hamish&katy
OMG thats fantastic news, so pleased Pebbles is home. Big hugs and kisses for Pebbles so glad you are home x x
Debbie
Brilliant news!! Well done Stacey for all your patience and efforts - I'm so pleased for you and your family that Pebbles is home safe and sound! x
lesleyjane
Oh my God, this has made my day/year whatever!! Well done jack russel's owner for being patient. Stacey, I am so happy for you and your son, big hugs to darling Pebbles.
Jackie
A fantastic result.... horrayyyyy Pebbles is home... she's obviously had enough of living rough and wanted to go home... well done to the man who had the sense to let her play before trying to pick her up... Sleep well tonight Stacey and Pebbles no more wandering off xxxx Just got to get Davy to see sense now xxxx
jobadger
Wonderful news!! So pleased she's home safely. What an adventure!! xx
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Phew, what a relief!!!!! Fantastic news Stacey I am so pleased for you. I will happily (finally!) move her over to the blue reuniteds. Well done, it must have been difficult for you not being closer but got there in the end. Well done to the man too who had the patience and sense that meant he could take advantage of Pebbles wanting to be pals! Hugs to Pebbles. x
Lisa123
Yipeeee!!!!! Stacey I am so happy for you! Ive been following little Pebbles story from the start and my mum keeps asking about her too! If only Pebbles could talk :) Well it's made my day. Sending you a big hug little girl and stay safe from now on xxx
Julie B
Stacey I am so pleased that you finally have Pebbles home safely with you. You tried so hard and eventually paid off. No more adventures Pebbles ... your mum doesnt need another month like she has just had. Big hugs to Pebbles bless her and now time for you to relax Stacey. Julie x
Stacey
Pebbles is home!!!!! She was about this morning and another dog owner had a jack russel and Pebbles started playing with him, the owner left them to play about and in the end he was able to pick her up and take her home. I am so pleased that I have got her home, thank you everyone on here for your help and support. Pebbles has had a nice bath and is curled up a sleep now, she was so happy when I picked her up too, I am soooo happy!!! Thank you again!!!! xxx
Mrs Hadley
Has Pebbles' mum been in touch with Clacton Animal Aid, a local rescue centre, they might have advice, etc? (tel:01255 860062)
lesleyjane
Great that she's keeping in the same "safe" area, and that so many people are aware she needs catching!! Does anyone with more experience of this type of situation have any more ideas???It must be so heartbreaking and frustrating for Stacey and her son.
Stacey
Pebbles still missing, although still being seen! I went to Clacton again on Friday with some friends but did not see her at all, everyone in the area knows who Pebbles is now, and everyone has been feeding her, so its hard to get people to stop as they are all looking out for her! She is still very scared, she is still staying within the same few roads, but doesn't seem to have one place she goes to sleep, I can only hope that at some point she trusts someone and they can get near her? x
DogLostRiverlady
Have put Pebbles on twitter + will circulate.
Julie B
Has Pebbles been found or is she still missing ? Julie x
hamish&katy
Any more news on Pebbles x
Julie B
I am sorry that Pebbles is still missing. I agree with Jo - smelly tasty food will eventually get the better of her and then she can be caught. I only wish I wasnt so far away. Stay positive though as the main thing is you are getting plenty of sightings and she is staying in the same area. Come on Pebbles - time to end your adventure and get yourself home. Stay safe little one. Julie xx
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Ok, good the sightings are still coming in thick and fast, little monkey Pebbles, but not so good the trap has been removed (but understandable to some point if the council need to use elsewhere etc)....however its difficult to say for sure I would guess she is not approaching it unless someone has been on watch, she may have approached it but then not bothered again as nothing tasty in it! I would say need to get a trap back down and somehow find someone who can keep it topped up with yummy stinky appealing food. We have some traps and if free could be borrowed but they would need collecting, there possibly is one in Kent but I can find out further if it's something you'd like to do. Maybe see if you can find someone (or multiple people!) to help first?? It may well quite be that she was sleeping in/by that bush and that was her 'safe place' but if that's since been disturbed then she will have found herself somewhere else. The trap would need to be put somewhere within her route, preferably near her safe place and a point where a feeding station can be established (I know there have been loads of sightings but plotting them on a map and looking for a pattern will help), then with scenting and various other options all heading back to the trap it would hopefully help Pebbles to be encouraged to go in it. Or if she is regularly visiting a garden or something, could try and persuade the homeowner to put food out and we can build from there with trap etc. It must be so difficult for you Stacey not being near, if I was closer i'd help.....I will spread the word and see if anyone is nearby and can give you a hand. Come on Pebbles!!!!!
lesleyjane
Little monkey! Shame the trap didn't work out, at least she is seemingly surviving well and everyone is aware of her and trying to help. Anyone have any more ideas on how to catch Pebbles??
Stacey
I have spoken to dog warden this afternoon, they said they removed the trap yesterday as Pebbles is was not approaching it. They have said they are deffiantly still looking out for her and they have even seen her, but it seems Pebbles knows the area very well now so she is not settling in one place to sleep either. They found her in a bush where she seemed to sleeping, but since they went there and saw her she has not been back since! She knows all the the little cut through's and because she is little she can get everywhere! oh she is a little pain! xLast edited: 2011-05-25 17:28:06 by Stacey
Stacey
I am still getting regular calls and Pebbles still being sighted! I have had so many calls now, i don't know whose number is whose! I am going to email the dog warden as I have still had no contact from them :( I still can't get down to clacton at the moment either. I did create a facebook page for Pebbles, but I have had to de-activate my facebook account temporaily due to privacy reasons, so the Pebbles page is also de-activated. People seem to still be trying to catch her and they are concerned she is still out and about. She is a fighter as she has been on her own for 4 and half weeks now. x
Lisa123
Any news on this little one?
AntheaB
Have also shared on Jasper Littleman's Facebook page. Have you tried creating a Facebook account for Pebbles? x
hamish&katy
I keep sharing Pebbles on facebook, really hope she is home soon, so long to be on her own :-((
lf2000
its a shame noone is willing to watch the trap for you, i know its a long shot and time consuming. then if you could get one that shuts when someone operates it hey presto. if she is eating the food daily that is. so annoying
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Anyone in the area able to help?
lesleyjane
Good idea, Julie... hopefully if she is scared she will stay in the area she feels secure in, but definitely need to get tempting food in trap on a regular basis. Stacey, do you have any contact details for locals? Maybe you can get phone no. of St Micheal's Convent from directory enquiries or internet and see if someone there can help do this?
Julie B
You said previously that people you have seen when out looking for Pebbles are also looking out for her. Do you have a contact number for any of them so that you could ask if they could possibly help you by putting fresh smelly food in the trap ? I worry that if there isnt fresh food for her there she may move on. Please let her stay safe until caught. Julie x
Stacey
I've tried contacting the dog warden several times, but they have not got back to me :( So i am not sure if the food is being changed regularly, which I can imagine wont be very appealing for Pebbles if not. I had a few more calls yesterday, nothing today, but if its busy she is probably laying low at the weekend. But everyone who has seen her has said she is very nervous, so she is still running off! x
Julie B
Stay positive Stacey. The main thing is Pebbles is staying in the same area. Is there someone putting fresh food in the trap for you if you cant get down there ? It will only be a matter of time I think - something really nice and smelly needs to go in the trap to get her interested. Keep strong as you will have her back home with you before long I am sure. Julie x
lesleyjane
Poor you, don't despair, so many people behind you, she is a little monkey, isn't she?
Stacey
Things only seem to be getting worse for me at the moment, not having a good week at all! The calls are still coming in and Pebbles is still out and about in the same area, she obviously very clever as she is not going to the trap! I cannot even get down to clacton at the moment as I have no car. I am feeling awful at the moment that she is still out and about, if only she new what was going on she would come home :) come on Pebbles, mummy needs you! x
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
She's certainly giving everyone the run around bless her, she's probably having great fun whilst you're worried sick. You could try putting some stinky tripe in an old pair of tights and dragging that from some point she has been seen to where you have the trap, and drag right inside the trap too so the trail doesn't stop outside it. Make sure the trap always has really stinky food in. Are you plotting all the sightings on a map - any idea what area she is using as a base from there? May be worth moving the trap to another area if there's not been any sightings in the area that it is currently for a while. Great everyone is keep a look out still and sightings are still regularly coming in.
Stacey
Thank you everyone for you comments and help, I have had 3 more sightings today, so she is still about, she must be getting food elsewhere as she is not going to the trap =( I hope to get her home soon so she can be reunited with me and my two children. x
Sarah Jayne
It won't be long now Stacey, just wanted to let you know that Dan is still keeping an eye out for her when he's on shift and him and a couple other PCSO's are determind to get her home to you.
lesleyjane
All positive stuff, Stacey, surely you will get your little girl home soon. Glad all the locals are so helpful.
Stacey
I had another call yesterday and I have had another 2 calls this morning, Pebbles is still out and about! I also got a call from St Michaels Convent which is on the sea front, they are seeing Pebbles quite often, they have said they would be happy for a trap to be put there also. I have contacted the animal wardens again to let them know, so hopefuly the local warden will get back to me and let me know if this is possible. Come on Pebbles it times to come home x
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Great well done Stacey.....would definitely get something a bit more yummy, smelly and enticing for the trap. Fingers crossed its not long now. Come on Pebbles.....time for your adventure to end and to go back home to your luxuries!
Stacey
The dog warden has put just put dog food in there, but i have had another 2 calls today and another one yesterday where people have also been putting food out for Pebbles, so no wonder she looks healthy, which is good! But now I have asked everyone to stop feeding her so she only has the trap to go to for food, i feel awaful but hopefuly it will work. I only went down to Clacton yesterday morning, so I will have to try and get down there in the week again, but hopeful she might be caught before then?? She looks like she has grown an extra layer of fur too, she looks like a mini lion now! I miss her so much and hope to get her soon x
Julie B
You are so close Stacey - it wont belong before you have your little girl back home with you now. Julie x
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Great the sightings are coming in still, and lots of them, even better the trap is now set up there - what have you put in it? I presume anyone that was asked to feed her is now not, she needs to be see that food in the trap as worth having! If not already done may be as well to cover over the trap a little, almost camoflauge it. Last edited: 2011-05-14 17:15:13 by Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
lf2000
If you see Spencer is now in reunions and he was very!! wary of people etc but he was caught.. She will be caught... Its just being patient and it wil happen x
hamish&katy
fingers crossed for you, really hope she is home and safe soon x x
lesleyjane
Oh, Stacey, how frustrating.....I have heard how dogs go "feral" when on the run, not even responding to their owners.....but great news about the trap, and glad you have loads of support from the locals. Thinking of you and wishing you well, are you staying in Clacton all weekend?x
Stacey
I have seen Pebbles 3 times this morning, got to clacton for 6am and saw her straight away, but any sudden movement she runs, i got out of the car and she was off! I have spoke to a lady who lives in the flats where she has been seen, she has the trap put infront of her flat, Pebbles wants to get the food, so i think we will have to wait until she goes in there. She runs off from everyone including me :( but there are lots of people in the flats and the area that are looking for her so i am hopeful i will get her home soon x
Stacey
I am going down to clacton early tomorrow morning, about 6am, hopeful we might see Pebbles, will let you know how i get on! x
lesleyjane
Great that so many people are looking out for dear Pebbles, hope the weekend brings good news, shame d/w hasn't told you if a trap sorted yet, though, do you want me to ask a rescue centre in London where I do voluntary work if they can get one down there?
Stacey
I've had 8 calls today from people who have seen Pebbles! My friend is down there at the moment, but I bet she has gone back into hiding! I have no car at the moment either, so really struggling to get down there myself :( I've not heard from the dog warden today, so unsure if a trap has been set? Come on Pebbles, its time to come home x
lesleyjane
Great that she's staying in same area, hope a trap is set up, sounds like your best hope as she is obviously so scared........everything crossed for good news soon.x
hamish&katy
Come on Pebbles, time to come home now :-)
Stacey
Another sighting, she was sitting on the steps outside crossly view, but ran off again, the person didn't realise she was missing unitl he saw one of my posters after. He said he will keep an eye out for her and try get her, he also said she looks like she needs a bath, my poor Pebbles :(
Stacey
Dog warden called, they are looking for Pebbles in the same area, if they think its suitable, they maybe able to put a trap out, no guarentee, but hopefuly they might be able too. x
Stacey
Pebbles is very busy this morning, she has been spotted two more times on Hadleigh court on st albans road, again trying to get near her is prooving to be difficult!
Stacey
Sorry for no recent updates, i have had no internet! I have had a few calls this week and Pebbles is in the same area. I have had a phone call this morning and yesterday from a couple who have seen Pebbles early morning about 6am, they have put food out for her, but she is very scared still and they cannot approach her. I went back down clacton yesterday in the day, but no sightings, i do not think she is going to be out in the day by the sounds of things, I am going to try and arrange to go there early in morning and try and sit and wait for her. x
Julie B
Is there any further news on Pebbles ? Hoping that she is safely back home again soon. Julie x
lesleyjane
Following this story, keep your hopes up, there's lots of people willing Pebbles to be reunited and in the blue soon. You are doing all the right things, it must be hard when you live so far from where she went missing.x
Stacey
No sightings today :(
cookie
fingers toes and paws crossed for you today,x
Stacey
My mother in law is on the way to clacton now with Pebble's brother, hopefuly he might be able to bring her out! We are off down there is an hour, fingers crossed still x
Stacey
Thank you. No sightings of Pebbles this weekend :( We are off down Clacton again tomorrow for another look round x
hamish&katy
working now thanks x fingers crossed she is home soon x x
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
I've re uploaded the poster image (recent pic) as jpg file - seems okay now on FB, just tried but let us know hamish&katy if you're still having problems with it.

Any more sightings Stacey? If not, she maybe lying low as its the weekend and presumably busy around.
Stacey
I think the format of the picture is not jpg, can u edit this or do I need to? I can try tomo?
hamish&katy
can't share recent photo of Pebbles on facebook, just comes up with black square, same with poster? Can moderators help please Last edited: 2011-05-07 21:45:04 by hamish&katy
Stacey
No sightings of Pebbles today, more posters have been put up and food left for her. Just have to keep looking :( x
Stacey
I can ask Homefixit, if he would possibly put food pebbles out daily? Hopeful that she might get picked up today, but will have to see. My brother has taken our parents dog and has taken food and going to try and leave a trail, so fingers crossed! my mother in law has taking Nelson which is Pebbles brother when she has been down, but never fortunate enough to see Pebbles. She is on holiday but said she will go back monday when she home again if not found Pebbles before then. x
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Good the sightings are still coming in. I think a trap is definitely the way you're going to need to move to. Do you think you can set up a regular feeding point? This needs to be started asap really in preparation and will then of course help when there's a trap down ready. Hopefully your friends and family may find her today - remember how they need to behave if they do spot her, no chasing and all very softly softly! How is she with other dogs? Would someone walking a nice little dog draw her out a little. Although my the sounds of it she is too nervous atm and darting off for that to help.
Stacey
My brother and g/f are going down to clacton also to have a look for Pebbles x
Stacey
I have a friend visiting Clacton today, they are going to try and look for her this morning, come on Pebbles x
Julie B
i have been watching little pebbles page. Im glad that you have seen her tonight and that she is staying in the same area. I have everything crossed that she is back home very soon. You are doing a great job trying to catch her. Come on pebbles you gorgeous girl give yourself up. Stay safe little girl. Julie x
Debbie
Oh, this must be so frustrating for you, but lucky little Pebbles, that you love her enough to not give up! Good luck tomorrow - I really hope that all your efforts pay off and that your little love is home with you soon x
Stacey
Just got home after searching around again, Pebbles been seen on Victoria Road by the flats and then my husband thinks he saw her further up, but still not able to get her. I really think that a trap might be the only way to get her as nobody is able to catch her quick enough =( Thank you Homefixit for your help. Fingers crossed again for the weekend x
Homefixit
Met up with Stacey this evening and betweens us had a good area search, just about to give up when i spotted her in the grounds of the flats as before, sadly she ran off before we could get to her. An extensive search has proved fruitless. Will be back out later tonight and then again in the morning, Pebbles is definitely in the area so if any one else is able to come down all help appreciated.
cookie
so glad you have got some good news at last all sounding positive, fingers crossed shes home with you very soon,xx
Stacey
I have been in touch with St Clares convent, then St Michaels care home, where also the new convent is being built at the back of them, I have emailed Pebbles poster and they are going to put this up and also pass to security people who are on site of the new building. I have also spoken to St Pauls church and emailed them Pebbles poster, they said they will keep look out and put up poster also. I'm not really sure of who else I can contact in this area as don't know it well, if anyone thinks of somewhere I will contact them. Me and my husband are hoping to go and look for Pebbles again this evening if we can get someone to look after our children x
Stacey
Would be brilliant, but he is off on holiday now and he is not keen on dogs, which is probably why he hasn't gone near her, but I am pleased he still phoned to inform us x
lf2000
Brilliant news!!! Maybe he can feed her so she keps coming back and a trap can be set... Shame but got to be done... Wishing the best for you x
Stacey
I have had a phone call this morning, a man has seen Pebbles daily for the last 3/4 days outside his flat on the Corner of Victoria Road/Marine Parade East, she has been seen on the green, in the car port & outside his kitchen window too! Aparently this is near where the new convent is being built, this maybe where she might be at night time? If anyone is anyone is in this area today would they be able to look? x
Stacey
I spoke to the animal wardens again yesterday, they should hopefuly keep more of an eye out as they know she is being sighted. I remember when we first got Pebbles she hid in our garden under some rubbish we had, I thought she had got out then as she she was very small, it took us ages of shouting before she came out, so I can just imagine she has found a good spot to sleep! I hope we get her soon, still feel awful she out on her own x
Homefixit
We have a mixture here, Flats with grounds and car park, the sea front with foliage. The church with grounds and lots of open space, plenty of scope to bed down in.
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Great :)

What sort of area is it round there - is it all build up residential houses or are there places, garages, open spaces etc where she could be bedded down. I guess the church must have some good (if not spooky!) spots for a little dog too. She is likely to be returning to a similar area.
Homefixit
Have just come back from local area search Russell Road to Pier and adjoining streets. No sightings but will try again tomorrow, wont give up
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Well done team Pebbles!

Have conducted area search of Russell Road, Victoria Road, St Pauls Road, Vista Road and along seafront. Have looked in garages and gardens but no luck. Will continue to do regular searches throughout today and this evening. If sighted in the area please text me 07974293953 Last edited: 2011-05-05 13:35:13 by Homefixit
DogLostAngus
owner is at work at the moment but is aware - if anyone is in the area can they please go and take a look ? If you spot Pebbles offer her some smelly food fro a distance - make yourselves small and non threatening and talk to her in a happy voice - she may come to a gentle but happy voiced child if there is one available ? Please do not try to chase her but try to observe where she is darting back to cover for
DogLostAngus
just sending a text to alert them

Does owner know?

BUMPED due to possible sighting - come on Pebbles x
Homefixit
Think i have just spotted pebbles running in the russell road / ambleside court area of clacton. Ran off before i could establish where she went. Called her name and head turned but then ran, will keep a look out all day today
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Great there has been another sighting. Really need to set up a regular feeding pattern or similar and that will help if then need to move on to a trap. Is there a garden or similar she is frequently being seen in, where someone is willing to put food out each day?
Stacey
Thank you cookie for looking for Pebbles while on ur hols. Thank you sarah for your phone call this evening, I'm so relieved pebbles has been spotted about 8ish this evening in Clacton, she was last seen outside Tom Peppers. She is still running about and still the same thing nobody can get near to pick her up =( but at least i know she is still about
cookie
went out again today, spoke to a lot of people in sainsburys asking them to keep an eye out,im going back home tomorrow,i do hope you get good news soon, will keep checking on here to see her moved into the blue, good luck,xx
lf2000
Oh what horrible people there are in this world... Are the police being helpful and any more news?
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Stacey, I will email you. x
Tara H
I would make sure they had her for sure. Also it may be worth waiting for some proper advice from the coordinators/admin, as Im sure this thing has happened before. .....and the police have been involved. Try not to worry and wait for the correcr advice before doing anything too rash
Stacey
Someone is saying they got pebbles but they want £500 for her??!! :(
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Tell your husband no giving up Stacey! The sightings are great but its relatively early days for a dog out loose and you will get a few days of no sightings, just sometimes where they lie low in between conserving their energy so stick with it. Also, it is quite common for the owners when searching not to be the ones that spot their dog - thats why posters also are so key still to get the sightings coming in and raise awareness. I would put leaflets through as many doors as possible around the areas she is being seen also if you can. Have you had a chance to read those scenting guidelines I sent you - make sure you keep a record and plot the sightings and a pattern may well emerge to help you prempt where she will move to next. Stick with it, she'll be home soon. x
cookie
there was a lot of people around so maybe somebody has picked her up,the more posters the better, maybe also handing some out to people on streets and leaving under wiperblades on car windscreens,i dont have access to printer down here otherwise would print some off for you,x
Stacey
Thank you, my husband been looking again today also with no luck. He starting to give up that we will find her tho :( I would look all the time if possible. My mother in law is going down again tomo and going to put more posters and look, just have to do more waiting x
cookie
have been upto the area she went missing,no sightings unfortunatly,we will go back again 2morrow and search the side streets,x
cookie
we will get over there asap,am happy to help look for her,its only a holiday from work!!x
lf2000
They say Sardines and smelly fish tempt them... No eye contact and just sit and wait for them to come to you - if you see them that is... If she had a squeeky toy that she liked you could go along and squeek it? Might look mad but hey ho.
Stacey
She has stayed in the same area where she was lost, it was down on the beach opposite where she went missing x
Stacey
She has been seen by the church on st pauls road and then along the aligning roads eg vista road and thoroughgood road. I appreciate your on holiday and thank u for looking, I think she is quite nervous now as I have been told she just runs off, maybe food might tempt her? My husband ia going to go back down again today, so I just keep hoping x
cookie
ive just looked at map for area as im from bedford here on holiday for the week,we will get down the area she was lost from tommorow,is she nervous atall?
Stacey
I have been down to clacton again this evening, but no sign :( feel awful that its another night she out on her own, I really just want to get her home. Its so awkward as we don't live in clacton, so people spot her but we can never get to where she is straight away. I hope someone who sees her would be able to pick her up. Fingers crossed for tomo! x
cookie
i have arrived at martello beach holiday park today for a week will keep my eyes open when on the beach with my dogs, number logged into my phone,x

Yeh, me too, hoping for good news soon.......I am originally from Colchester and have a cat called Pebbles, spooky! Wish I was nearer and could help.
lf2000
All seems promising so keeping my fingers crossed for you... Didnt man to upset of offend mind.... X
hamish&katy
fingers crossed you catch her, plenty of smelly food may tempt her x x

I have had more phone calls today, saying they have seen her, but nobody can get near her, she runs off! I'm at work today, but my mother in law and her friend have been there since this morning, they have seemed to narrowed it down to 3 roads where she keeps getting spotted, my husband is now on the way down there with our children, it seems so close, maybe if they stayed in one place, Pebbles might pass them??? My mother in law has Pebbles brother too, so am hoping he'll sniff her out or Pebbles will approach him! My son cannot talk, but a good idea thank you :) x

If she was close to your disabled son might it not be worth taking him along on the searches to see if the dog smells him and if he calls out then she may come a running... Sorry if this can not be done... Was just a though x

Hope all goes well... Might have to do a night time search maybe x

Great news about the sightings Stacey, hopefully not long now. I will email over some scenting guidelines later that may help you. If there is somewhere around the area sighting that you can leave an old towel/item of clothing etc, with your family's scent on then that may help....leave it tucked out of the way somewhere so if she does go to it she can be safe and undisturbed around the area.

After putting posters up along the beach, I have had two phone calls this morning saying that people have seen Pebbles, its only when they have gone to the beach and seen the poster they realised she was missing, but they have been back to look for her, she gone again! I have my fingers crossed that she will be picked up soon, she has been seen up on the roads on Holland Road & St Pauls road. She is very nervous, which is understandable, she must be hiding at night time and coming out to look for food etc. My husband is going back down there this afternoon to look for her. I hope we find her soon! x

She is such a sweet little dog - hope they have the decency to return her. How cruel of them. I hope they come on here and read this and see how they are taking away a dog who is a help to your disabled son. I puppy walk for dogs for the disabled and know how helpful dogs are. I am disgusted. Sorry I am not closer to help but wish you all the best in your search. Liz xxLast edited: 2011-04-30 09:37:06

Thank you for your comments, We live in Colchester, my husband had taken our two children to the beach that day, he was on the left side of the pier in front of first shop you come to. She wouldn't have run off, she always likes to know where you are and always comes where we go, even in the car! She doesn't like to be on her own, I do have a feeling someone may have picked her up straight away as it was literally a few minutes from when he saw Pebbles and then she was gone, when he went to look for her, it was like she had disappeared?

So sorry to see Pebbles is missing. Did she run off?

I will email you some advice sheets. Stacey, not sure who you have notified already but ensure you contact Westend Kennels. Hope Pebbles is home very soon. I will spread the word on FB, Twitter and to contacts also. x

I'm taking my dogs on the beach later, so i'll take some posters with me to, as Clacton Beach is very long, so we know which end she went missing? Do the owners live near the beach or are they visiting?
