HOW LUCKY AM I, - MINSTRAL IS SAFE AND BACK WITH ME.
Had a phone call just before 1.pm [was from Martin who was helping me look on Monday]a neighbour was cutting her hedge that backs on to a lane at the back of Elm Road and found him there. He would not come out and they were afraid to move him in case he was injured, luckily there was a post up nearby and Martin went and got my number, while owner of house phoned DW. I got there within about 10 mins from work and he got up when he saw me. So, so so happy, just been to vets and he is okay just a bit dehyrated.
I CANNOT THANK EVERYONE ENOUGH FOR ALL THE EFORTS AND THE THOUGHTS. A VERY SINCERE THANK YOU.
He was about half way home from where he was lost, but he was stuck in that hedge if owner had not cut it, the results could of been different xx

wow thanks
BC
Ive tried Radio Bristol again, and pleaded with them to put something out, they say because they have so many people ringing about lost dogs, its not their policy, i told them how hard the owner is trying to find the dog, and how important it is for us to find him, and if they could just give Minstral a mention it could mean us getting him back, she is going to speak to the editor and ring me back
DogLostAngus
checking the brambles is always a good place to start - garden secateurs and heavy gloves are another essential in the doglost helpers kit bag - long coated breeds can get caught up quite easily keep your eyes peeled for clues such as fur snagged on and low brambles and cut your way in gently - remember that the dog may try to shoot out past you if they feel cornered so be prepared as it may frighten you
mcbride
Absolutely brillant thank you xx

JUST SENT THIS TO THE OBSERVER..........Hello, i hope you dont mind me contacting you... I am helping in locating a dog that went missing nearly a week ago in the Cock Ridge area of Hanham in Bristol. There has been extensive work going on trying to find this lost dog - Tibetan Terrier - but as of yet no one has responded to posters, web sites, rescues, vets or word of mouth... Not one sighting at all! The dogs owner is desperate to get her dog back - Mintral is his name - as she is lost without him and her other dogs are pining terribly. We all belong to a site called DOGLOST and make a combined effort to try and reunite lost/found dogs with their owner. Posters do generally work well but in this instance they have not. Unfortunately this dog went missing after the printing of your last issue of the Bristol Observer - i actually receive the east bristol and keynsham copy - so i would like to ask the following... If Minstral has not been found by the time of printing of your next issue might there be a chance that you could print an article on this missing dog with his picture? If DOGLOST were to be mentioned at the same time then that would be advertising for this site also!! The link to this dog is http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=29551.... We all come together as 'team bristol' and all help out where we can. Saying that dogs on the site are from all over..... Ulimately our aim at the moment is to reunite Minstral and his owner, who now fears her dog has been stolen...... If you could possilbly get back to me with your answer before you are due to print next weeks issue i would be most grateful.. In the mean time if Minstral has been found i will contact you again to let you know..... Hope to hear from you soon............ DID TRY RINGING BUT ENGAGED SO EMAILED... Hope this is ok with you Mcbride... You did say go ahead.... And if they get back to me then i will let you know asap so you can dicide where it goes from there.
mcbride
I have spoken to Radio Bristol and the answer was no, gona try some others now. I am going postering tomorrow alot farther out. Jollys is fine for me Sunday, alison

Hi Alison - just got back from the allotments and all of the sheds are very secure. Spoke to a couple of people who were also there on Bank Holiday and they didn't see him. Apparently there were lots of people there all day Monday and they are sure someone would have seen him and tried to catch him as, obviously, much as they like dogs they don't want them on their little patches.

Just noticed your message - you must have posted it while I was out.

Also did a bit more postering and Tesco Express, Westons Way have agreed to put a poster up in the window (I go in there a lot and they have a nice, friendly manager)Last edited: 2011-05-05 15:45:44 by Jay
mcbride
Jay, just thinking if you are about do you think there may be more people about on allotment before 5 if you are free?
Jay
sorry, just remembered there is a one way bit of road just before the cark park so, if driving, enter Holyguest at the junction of Mount Hill Road and Cock Road and the car park is just a short way down on the left.

My daughter, Terri, has put the link on her Facebook page and she has lots of friends in the area.Last edited: 2011-05-05 11:56:33 by Jay
Jay
Hi Alison - Honeyguest Road runs from Mount Hill and goes behind the corner shop (Mcolls?) past the Cross Keys and then curves towards Cock Road. As it approaches a junction with Kelson Grove there is a cark park on the right for allotment holders so assume access would be there - might be other access points but the car park seems the logical one. Hope this helps JayxLast edited: 2011-05-05 11:42:29 by Jay
mcbride
No I haven't I can do it tonite how do you access Honeyguest Road ? any help is great tho thanks
Jay
mcbride - have you checked the sheds etc at the allotments between Honeyguest Road and Cock Ridge. A frightened/nervous dog might push his way in but not be able to get out. I am happy to drive over and have a look if you haven't already been there.Last edited: 2011-05-05 10:58:36 by Jay

Have put an update on the Bristol Netmums site with a link to Minstral and a suggestion that they might add it to their Facebook pages. Just thought I'll also put it on the South Gloucestershire site.Last edited: 2011-05-05 11:00:56 by Jay

I would defo but having to be in this week for deliveries - and doing accounts/books/tax for hubby... Grrrrr.... I contacted local vets too so think they are defo aware by now! How about contacting the Observer? Im sure someone has him seeing as no sightings have been made.. Over the weekend if no news will do posters my side for sure just in case he has come this way!!!! Just missed printing for this weeks Observer but if nothing over weekend/start of week i will contact them if McBride likes. I dont mind getting a knock back if they decline to help...

LOL just doing it as you posted. I've cropped the other dogs out of the photo and incorporated both photos together, also updated the details to show up on the poster. Good luck and hope gorgeous Minstral is back home soon. Jan x

I agree Reynard, I've asked Majorjet to change it. I will then print off posters and have arranged to drop them into dancingleigh32 in the morning. Mistral's owners, you are doing a great job spreading the word.

Jay
Have sent text to Alison reminding her to use Gumtree & Trade-it - a lot of folk still look there if they find a missing pet.

Also asked my daughter who has a lot of FB friends in this area to put it on her page and suggested she join DL and get alerts direct.

Ok, many emailed and asked if they can respond. If nothing by tom then will have to think again and maybe post... Hopefully there will be good news before this x
doglover1
Thank you lf2000, yes if you can email the companies on Aspects asking them to display Mistral's poster that would be great.
I have also emailed Alison/owner scenting advice.Last edited: 2011-05-03 11:20:07 by doglover1
lf2000
Ok, i cant get out today... But, am on my comp most of today so can email places in aspects to see if they will print off and put up poster... Have got emails up for most of the places already... What do you think? Also posted poster on Aspect fb page... Never know....
doglover1
Alison, We have found if you put the posters up with duck tape, drawing pins or a staple gun is good for wooden posts, As the weather is dry they should be ok but plastic polly pockets are good also for putting poster inside as it protects them from weather. Take some posters into local shops, pubs, vets and stick some up on bus shelters. I'll take a walk round the area with my dog this afternoon. Last edited: 2011-05-03 10:56:34 by doglover1
mcbride
Hi, sounds a silly question but what do you put the posters up with duck tape or Tacks please, as will put a load out tonite, thank you
mcbride
thank you to every one for there support, alison x
Jay
Just contacted the owner to say I saw a lady walking a Tibetan on Mounthill Road about 4pm and the lady seemed to be looking around. It turns out it was the owner with her other Tibetan.

My printer is out of action again but if anyone local has spare posters I will collect & put them up around Courtney/Court Roads, Westons Way. and the many lanes inbetween which are used by numerous dog walkers.

Hi, this is my gorgeous dog, we were walking he was just behind me and then gone in a second, have spent the whole day looking, reason for posting is that the postcode is BS15 not B15, but could not work out how to alter. He is a rescue that we have had for about two months he is very regal and reserved still and underweight slightly, thank you
