- owners have been advised to go back to police as the number given is only a log number and they need a crime ref number. Petlog will not give out the details of the person trying to chnage details. owners advised to state in writing by recorded delivery that ownership deatils are NOT to be changed and once a CRN is obtained it will be sent on.

- Fingers crossed for you!!! Hope that the people trying to change chip can be traced and forced to hand back dog. Was he reported missing to the dog warden and police at the time of going missing? The police should be involved if he was passed on without owners consent and they should trace people who have him now. They wouldn't get away with doing this if it was a car involved.

- owners have contacted me and will be checking out the found dog when they get home. They also asked me to thank everyone who has posted and is helping to find Oscar. AS jayne has mentioned in the post below When I rang his owners when he was first logged on site I advised them to contact Petlog as they had not done this since he went missing. On contacting Petlog they have been informed someone had called trying to change the owner details and this is being followed up !!Last edited: 2011-05-06 14:58:32 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

I haven't seen him around when I've been out with my 2 dogs... will keep checking even more now xxx

- I added 29616,a stray,to the found column last night.
The photo of Oscar here looks light but even though this dog was found in East Anglia,he could well be the same cross, just worth checking out as similar looking (as far as I can see) - 2011-05-04 19:32 lf2000
- I suppose this was a friend...Why would a 'friend' sell on your dog... Too right get the police involved.... Wont be no 'friend' of mine no more!

- Due to problems with the owners accomodation Oscar had been left in someone else's care by them and it is thought that this person has passed or sold him on. Oscar is 4 years old and his owners have had him all his life and are desperate to find him ! They have contacted the police and I have advised that they poster heavily in the area he was staying in. Hoping for some news of this lttle chap very soon x Pam

- Sorry to see that OSCAR is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (29611)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
