Hi has your dog been found, I picked up a small black dog very similar wondering around Horfield recently who is now at Zetland Road vets, didn't find chip. But has a collar on. Female. Please contact Zetland Road vets.

Beginning to believe that whoever found Pipper took one look at that lovely little face and decided to keep her! Perhaps an Asda customer as you were near the store.

Now is the time to spread the net and to get posters into the rear windows of as many cars as possible throughout Bristol - might just jog the memory of someone out there.

My printer is still out of action but if someone can post me a couple of posters I will be more than happy to display them in my car.

Keep looking xxxLast edited: 2011-06-03 14:55:47 by Jay

Good luck... And dont forget the sites i mentioned... Even if just for support.
lf2000
Totally agree that ALL the shops etc around the area are made well aware of Pipper missing!! And posters go up in all :)
dinkydoodle
Sophie, can you hand posters into ALL of the places on the industial estate as I have been told by someone who was talking to a worker from 1 of the units that they were not aware that Pipper was missing from very nearby. You could also put an ad in the Evening Post, they do charge for this but it goes in the actual paper and online.

Various size posters now done and emailed to Sophie to check if o.k. If anyone wants them emailing please let us know. Hope they help in the search for Pipper and we see her back home soon with Sophie.

Not everyone knows they must report a found dog and the key to getting them back are the posters, which work time and time again. Good luck. Jan x

Sophie, due to her colouring do you think it maybe best to describe her as a Terrier Cross? Most people would think of a Yorkie Cross possibly being Black & Tan. Jan x

Sophie, sorry to see you have still not found Pipper, she is gorgeous. I've updated the details to show up on her DL poster and cropped/lightened the photo. I will do various size posters for you and email them a.s.a.p. Jan x

Sophie
Thnaks for the support, i havnt given up yet dont worry.
Jay
Sophie, please don't give up hope. I once lost my precious collie cross and for weeks I kept phoning the Dogs Home, putting up fresh posters, re-advertising etc.

He was actually found over 2 months later, fit & well and had obviously been cared for by someone. He still had on the same collar (minus the ID tag). He was found tied up outside a small supermarket. Best thing was it was actually me who spotted him and onlookers had no doubt I was the owner when they saw his reaction to my voice - he went ballistic. Someone tried inside the store to find out who had brought him but no response. The manager confirmed he was there regularly but didn't know who with.

I waited a while and then decided to take him after leaving all of my details with the manager.

So please, please keep looking!

Really sorry Sophie you have not had any news. Please try and stay positive, you have done everything you can to find little Pipper, there are lots of people looking out for her.x.
dancingleigh32
I have put a poster up in my work canteen. I work for the council in central Bristol so a lot of people will get to see it.
Sophie
I want to stay positive but its hard.. its been a week now and feels like months, i have put more posters up and iv rang around every where again but nothing... x
dinkydoodle
Really sorry no news of this little one yet :( My gut feeling is she's run back towards Asda or the industrial estate and there are loads of hiding places around there. I think we need to keep the postering up in the area, I know it doesn't seem like it but it is still early days, she has to be somewhere so keep the pressure on. Come on Pipper.x.
Jay
I've put her details with a link to this page on the Bristol Netmums site and also the South Glos Netmums site.

Cheers Jayx
Jay
Definitely better - it's just that most folk who find a dog will search by 'lost dog' and a few by 'missing dog'. Also they don't usually search by description so it is as well so to get both words in the title - means it will come up whichever word they use.

Nice to see her name on there because, as I said before, if someone thinks they have found her using her name might give her a 'tad' of condfidence in them.

Wish I could do more to help but I'm across in Kingswood - I am mentioning her to local dog walkers as they just might have heard something on the grapevine.

Sophie
No id rather get it right, thanks. iv changed a few thiings on there, have a look. do you think its better this way?
Jay
Hi Sophie - I was just trawling Gumtree to see if anyone had found a dog and saw your advert.

It might be worth editing it and using the word lost as well as missing in the title as most folk would search by 'lost dog' - also add her name.

Hope you don't mind my suggestions. Jayx
Sophie
I did go down the dogs home yesterday to find it closed but have planed to go down in the week, i have also called the rspca but they said they will keep an eye out for me and get back to me if they see/find her. a massive thanks for sat afternoon. i have been looking at the top of the field, but still nothing.
lf2000
Might it not be worth a visit the rspca in person just in case.. ? Have been posting to all on my FB... Hoping for some good news !!Last edited: 2011-05-09 08:26:49 by lf2000
ML
I was up there again earlier today and annoyingly noticed that several of the posters that i'd put up have either been ripped down of taken out of the plastic wallet. What is wrong with people!!
dinkydoodle
Thanks bevx, the more posters out the better. Can anyone HAND a poster into ALL the units in the Patchway industrial estate tomorrow? Lots of good hiding places around there.
Bevx
We are going to put up some posters in Bradley Stoke today Rowe Vet Hospital Tesco and Aldi.
dinkydoodle
About 7 of us inc Sophie and furryhound hacked at face high brambles and stingers for a couple of hours but sadly no sign of little Pipper. We chatted to a few dog walkers who will keep their eyes peeled. Having covered the area she was last seen and with other dogs around, we are not convinced she is still there but will be going back there periodically to check. More posters are being put up in the area - lots of shops and an industrial estate need to be covered and she will be advertised on gumtree and trade-it.
dinkydoodle
Meeting Sophie at 3 - left msg for Jane to call me on my mob, I think you rang my landline but I've been out all morning, would be great if you could come and search. Furryhound and ML unavailable this afternoon but have been checking the area over the last few days. Come on little girl, show yourself.x.
Sophie
i will be going down the field at 3pm, if anyone else could come down to help look i would be very greatfull.

Thanks
dancingleigh32
Have posted to my face book page and asked my friends to repost.
Sophie
i have also called the Highway agency to see if they have found/seen her on or by the M5. x
Sophie
Her name is pipper, i did go back down yeasterday too, i did walk through the bush and then at the bottom it was all stinging nettles so i couldnt get any futher, i want to cut away at some of it today after work, if you do want to go down i could meet you there after 2pm? if any of you do go let me know 07734382210. X
jane
good idea massive search phone me 01179373634
dinkydoodle
furryhound told me she was searching this afternoon - I can come over Sat afternoon - could we get a group of us together to do a bit of a mass search???
Jay
What is her name? It's not on the link but nice to know if she is spotted as speaking her name might give her confidence to trust the finder.
ML
I have put some posters up around the back of Asda, Toys r us and Wickes today. I had a goo drive round but like Furryhound says, there are so many bushes. It would be so easy for such a little dog to be hiding out. Stay safe little one. x
furryhound
I was up there searching this afternoon but there are masses of dense bushes and the land all borders the M5 so you can't even hear anything. It really needs lots of people with machetes to clear enough to be able to see in all the undergrowth :(
Jay
Don't forget to put on Trade-it & Gumtree as these are often a couple of first places folk look if they find a little dog.

I am over in Kingswood but if you think there is anything at all I can do let me know 07940413597

Good luck!
mandym
I have shared this on my fb page, i hope shes found soon....

Just a thought but have you checked in the hedges and bushes in the field, as she is quite a small dog she may have got caught up or just be fightened and hiding in undergrowth.

Sorry to see that PIPPER is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (29623)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
