- Im sorry to hear Minnies owner has had a stroke.
If there is anyone local to them looking for Minnie there is 1 thats gone up forsale on preloved today. The add is on the 1st page says they are in Nunaeton. Looks very very similar, thought it worth a mention just incase. PA. - 2011-07-04 12:11 Trumancapote
- Minnie's owner sadly had a stroke so has been far too unwell to continue searching I haven't heard of any further sightings it is very sad.

- I think Minnie's owner has been ill and they have had to give up on the search, very sad but understandable. I will continue to keep an eye out for her as I'm sure we all will. x

- Anymore news on Minnie???
- 2011-06-08 13:52 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Thanks Lucy! Watch the chickens :-) I was thinking Minnie may have gone the other way towards you and that could be why we have not had any more sightings. Wish owners would keep in touch more as I hate the thought of little Minnie out there all alone. For her sake, I want to find her. Hope owners are still putting posters up but I've not seen any more. God bless you Minnie, keep safe little precious. x

- Kim, I have put a few posters up in Threshers Bush already but yes good idea to get some more out that way. The chicken run u saw at Threshers Bush when looking for Oscar is probably my house, we have chickens in our garden! We r keeping an eye out for Minnie all the time. x
- 2011-06-02 23:37 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Maybe we should try postering the other way now, towards the Lavers or Sheering maybe. If there is a chicken run that would be enticing; I did see one when looking for Oscar near Threshers Bush. If she's looking for a food source, we need to think of things like this. And, of course she may be doing a big triangle, hence why she may not have been sighted again at the church. I'm going to poster out that way as soon as I am able. Any help appreciated. x

- She's so tiny, hard to spot. We need a trap. Regarding the con man - unless police get reports of this man, they won't or can't act. As I didn't see him, I am of lesser value than Genie's owner would have been to them, but she didn't report it. We could have got him! The travellers liaison officer will know who he is, but I am unable to recognise him as didn't see him. Keep safe Minnie. x
- 2011-05-31 09:18 Trumancapote
- sadly no further sightings
- 2011-05-30 21:24 LucyL
- I only thought the other day we must let Minnie's owner know of this traveller incase he tries to get money out of them! I'm so angry that they have had this happen to them aswell and I know how distressing it is. It's definately the same man as originally he wanted us to meet him at Staple Tye, seems he is doing this to every missing dog owner in this area. I don't think the police are interested so the only thing we can do in future to prevent this happening to anyone again is to let the owner's of missing dogs in this area know about this man straight away. Great news that there has been a sighting of Minnie at the church. Were there any sightings of her at the church fete 2day? x

- Capote, thank you so much. You know what, this is that traveller/gypsy man again - see Genie's page (North Weald - Akita). I hope the owners reported this to the police? I reported it before, but I don't think Genie's owner followed thru, and Oscar's owner (Threshers Bush) also had this happen. I received a call too and as you know my Cassie had died. I phoned police & was advised that "Intelligence" was on the case. Never heard anything more. This man has to be stopped. If people don't report him, he will carry on. Jotty also recalls this happening to other owners - same area - must be same person. And, its always "the common" that he claims to have found the dog (that must be where he sees the posters). Secondly, I wonder if owners actually believe we can catch Minnie with a trap? Maybe they just don't think it is possible? It is so frustrating trying to help without feeedback - except from you. Thank you Capote. If you can, please let owners know I am happy to meet them to talk about what we CAN do for Minnie. I think we need a trap as you so rightly suggested before. As a thought, would it be possible to print these pages and give to the owners? Maybe then they will see that there is a lot we can do to help. It seems that owners are so distressed and don't realise that help is at hand. Thank you Capote for posting further. Kim x

- As I understand it Kim the owners have been relentlessly searching for Minnie I have passed all the information on from here and advised about scenting through her friend Chris. As I understand it Maxine the owner has become incredibly distressed after receiving a telephone call offering Minnie's return for cash. They were asked to leave a larger some of money at Staple Tye and it seems as ever this call was bogus. I have also offered to continue to look for her but not sure what is going on. I have offered my help but don't seem to be getting any feedback so don't know what to do further. As I understand it Minnie is still missing and no more phone calls or possibly sightings have been receivedLast edited: 2011-05-30 10:15:56 by Trumancapote

- Can't understand why owners are not sitting in the churchyard watching for Minnie - or are they? Haven't seen anyone. Or, why no trap has been set yet - such a long time since she was sighted. I am still offering help, if they need it.
- 2011-05-26 10:15 Trumancapote
- Thank you Kim for doing so much for Minnie how kind of you. I have passed all this onto the owners through their close friend Chris so I hope to hear back from them soon to update on here. I will let them know about the fete

- Just got back in again tonight - I've put up some more posters with prominent wording in the area including on the church post & under church door and another one under the watering cans as last one has gone. Our problem is she's so little and can easily be hidden. I'm wondering why she doesn't walk back home from there - it is not very far, although she does have little legs, but if she got there why has she not gone back - maybe she has just got herself lost? Or maybe she has gone back but just not managed to get into home? I sthe gate open for her? Food in the garden? Trying to figure out if there's a triangle. Keep us posted Capote. Thanks. As a note, there are a number of foxes, so they'd eat the food so we'd have to keep replacing it and we really need to do that now so as Minnie can eat. I haven't seen any food out. I don't know where she'd get food from in that location otherwise. What are owners doing about that do we know? It's too spooky to stay long on my own in the churchyard, if owners, or anyone wants to sit with me, that would be good. Also, Capote can you tell owners there is a church fete on the green on Monday! I don't know if this will spook her or make her come out to see or smell food?Last edited: 2011-05-24 22:50:12 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

- Just got back in with Misty. We've been door dropping and car dropping (??) leaflets in the houses & cars that back on to the churchyard. For some this is the 2nd time. Saddened that Church has taken down the poster so tomorrow I am going to do another & mention on it that Minnie has been seen in their churchyard and I'm going to laminate it and stick it under the church door. Will also try and get a laminated one down in the other churchyard. I was amazed to follow the little trail and find that 2nd little cemetery! I never knew it was there! What a good place for a little dog to hang out. Pleased to say a lot of posters are still up. I have put a leaflet under the church door & church hall and also left one under the watering cans at the 2nd churchyard. I noticed the water supply and thought of a bowl and then turned the corner and saw one! Well done, I hope Minnie keeps coming back there for a drink! Capote, is that the place Minnie was sighted? We'd need to hide in one of the corners there & watch the trap - it seems a safe place and self contained, although a little spooky in the dark on one's own! :-) During the day it looks lovely. I tried to check for little doggy toilet but didn't see any. I hope food has been left, but I also note foxes live there too, so we need to constantly check the trap as we can't leave a fox in there or it will get too stressed. First we need a trap. I suppose we could buy one, don't know where from though? Maybe more than a dog cage costs, but worth it to catch a beloved dog. Please tell the owners I will help as much as I can. - Great news! I wasn't here much at weekend so didn't see this. I think I can help with the trapping but we need a trap. From helping with Shady, I must stress that we need to be careful not to frighten her away from the area. Do as Jotty says, also please advise owners that she may be a little frightened and not come straight to them if she sees them, but you never know. Please make sure no one chases her; we need her to come to us. Shirley for collies recommended a smelly bbq once and this apparently can work. If you sit in the area cooking food, it may bring her out a bit. Can owners get a trap, possibly an automatic one. But if not, ask Shady's foster mum (look for Reunited dogs) to tell us where she got her manual one from. That would be good to start with. I think it was someone over Ongar way??? Patience is the main thing. I can help but problem is, I work all week! I can come down in evening and meet owners and you Capote to advise what we did with Shady's trap?

- Great news there has been a positive sighting. Best thing to be doing for starters, is as you've already advised capote, and for them to scent the area and leave food regularly in the same area that she is believed to be in. Sounds like the area she was seen in has plenty of good areas for her to hide and keep safe.

- Good news a positive sighting of Minnie near Potter's Street church and graveyard I understand the Church is Mary Magdelene and that there is a little wood there also known as Mary Magdelene wood. Owners and owners friends have been searching there late last night and early this morning but no sign, I have explained about scenting and leaving item of worn clothing and food/water near sighting. Any help much appreciated. I understand a helper from Doglost was also there searching with them? Whoever it was thank you so much. Owners may need help trapping Minnie as she has been out for a while now is there anyone on here who knows how to do this ?Last edited: 2011-05-21 10:43:54 by Trumancapote

- No it was really good you spotted it Leodog and kind of you to ring i know it was much appreciated, any possible sightings always worth checking out in case. the owner is so very upset but is so touched and can't believe the help she has had from Doglost and people who she has never met. Passing on her heartfelt thanks to you all
- 2011-05-17 11:27 Leodog
- Sorry for the confusion. The poster at Kew's was an awful photo, it's just the markings were similar.
Sorry Minnie is still missing. I had high hopes for that. Thanks for posting and letting me know. - 2011-05-17 09:40 Trumancapote
- sadly not Min, they had a male black and tan toy breed which has now safely been returned to his owners so Minnie still missing which is a worry as she is so small
- 2011-05-17 08:36 Trumancapote
- I've just re-checked with owners friend and the dog they checked was apparently at Kew's so I have explained that I understand that although the poster is at Kew it is Companion Care Vets that are advertising the dog so to recheck directly with them this morning to rule it out. I do so hope this is Minnie will update either way.
- 2011-05-16 16:59 Trumancapote
- Sadly neither chipped or insured but thank you for your suggestions
- 2011-05-16 14:19 LucyL
- Is Minnie insured? If she is the insurance company should pay out for advertising to help find her. Oscar's insurance paid out for us. I have a contact in advertising at the Star/Observer if you want it? x

- I understand they checked and it wasn't it was a crossbreed but thank you for being so vigilant and ringing. Maxine does not have access to a computer but I am updating her of all your kindnesses via her best friend Chris. She is beside herself with worry so probably didn't think to take your number but appreciated the call. I understand she is still looking everywhere and checking all shelters and trying to get an advert or publicity in The Star but this is proving difficult.

- Yes, it would be nice if we knew something. Feel a bit estranged! :-)
- 2011-05-15 11:37 Leodog
- I hope the owners let us know one way or another on here as they didn't take my name or phone number. It would be nice to know.
- 2011-05-14 22:39 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Oh wow! That would be GREAT!!! Can't wait to hear! I thought Minnie was chipped, but rechecked and she isn't. Could well be her. Everything crossed. x

- I took my dog to the vet in Harlow town centre this morning and there was a poster there asking if anyone knew the dog in the picture. It was a Chihuahua, looking like similar markings to Minnie. It was being advertised by Companion Care Vets. I phoned the number given on here, I presume it was the owners of Minnie and told them. I expect they will contact Companion Care Vets. I do hope it's Minnie.Last edited: 2011-05-14 19:48:30 by Leodog

- That was incredibly kind of you Kim as no sign still it seems increasingly likely that someone has picked Minnie up her owner is beside herself with worry as she is so small

- Kept checking my car but didn't see anyone, so carried on till just now. Letterbox dropped The Sweyns, Jack something Close, and the road from White Horse to shops, also leafleted cars and also at Church end of Chapelfields. I noticed the Church has pinned a poster to its entrance! Excellent. I am trying to figure out what could have happened to Minnie? The Hillside, Sweyns part of Potter Street is now rather heavily postered so someone should have seen her. Off the top of my head a) she went walkies herself in which case she probably would have walkied back for food a long time ago so what could have stopped her getting back home? b) someone picked her up and has taken her in, but it would probably have been a local person at the Common and there are so many posters c) gypsies? d) she was actually stolen. Trying to work out what to do next.

- I am at the Common. If anyone wants to meet, I will be back at my car at 8.00pm - look for a mauve KA near to the White Horse pub, or church opposite, along road. Kim x
- 2011-05-12 22:52 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- I have over 100 little leaflets ready to go and will be car/door dropping, also will try and comb the Common. If Jane or anyone else wants to meet tomorrow, or Saturday morning, please leave a message on here. I can be there from 6pm-8.30pm 2moro (Fri night) or Sat until 12.00pm. I'll be out there at some point in between, as well.
- 2011-05-12 12:50 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Thank you Angus! I will do as you said. Much appreciated. Capote, I was wondering about the ponds. I don't know what else to think of now, unless she has actually been stolen? What do you think? Is it possible? If she's not sighthed by Friday maybe we can do a swoop thru the Common in a line like the police do when searching; I'll see if I can find a few helpers. How does this sound to anyone? Feasible or not? Thanks, Kim xLast edited: 2011-05-12 12:52:06 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

- Thanks everyone for helping the owner really is touched by your efforts. sadly no sightings. She has rung all the usual pounds, refuges and vets and is this morning personally visiting as many as possible to double check getting very distressed as minnie is so small even been checking ponds on the Common
- 2011-05-11 22:38 Angus
- Kimmybear i have done smaller posters which I will email to you now - if you save a copy you can then use for future - I usually copy and past the poster shrink to fit and over write the last one each time
- 2011-05-11 22:25 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Thanks Jane. Good plan. I have a little glitch now as I can't make tomorrow night. I was so hoping Minnie would be back home by now though. If I can get leaflets printed I can do Friday night (but I'd hope for a sighting by then!). I will have a try tomorrow at shrinking the poster on the photocopier to make leaflets myself - I have no idea if it'll work but worth a try! I'll e-mail DogLost as well to see if they can help us with these. I MAY be able to do something at lunchtime. I'll check in again tomorrow and leave a message if anything else crops up. Yes, yes they do sometimes get taken down in shelters, but we'll just have to keep putting them back up! :-) It is a bit worrying because Minnie is so small and harder to see. Keeping everything crossed. Capote do you know if owner has done all the usual things likes Vets, wardens, kennels etc? Thank you. I'll check in again 2moro. x

- hi Kim, am happy to come with you to leaflet drop or poster as i'm fairly new to the area sounds like you have a much better idea of where to go ! Have noticed on my way in more posters have been put up in the bus shelters but pretty sure they will get taken down, all the ones I put up on lamposts are still there. Only thing is i don't get in from work until 7.30ish but am happy to go out then and can arrange to meet up. Jane x
- 2011-05-11 19:31 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- We haven't got the leaflets yet, but I've got a few posters that I'll put on cars and possibly put more up a little further out. Jane, if we get the posters and you want to door/car drop alone, just let me know where you've done and I'll do another area. I'm think Red Lion Crescent/Lane, Pottersfield, Hillside, Chapelfields and possibly even Upper Mealines - still the Common but under the underpass. Whatever you like. If I can print some more tomorrow, if I can get enough, I can give you some. I will advise on here if I am able to print them all.

- Thanks to everyone for all the help they have been giving Minnie's owner much appreciated. I have had terribly trouble logging onto site so have had to register again. No sightings sadly so far but please keep up the postering and spreading the word by handing out flyers to help get little Minnie home safely. Capote

- Jane123, thank you. DogLost does an A4 sheet with 4 sections, we print it then chop it up into four little mini posters, that we use for leaflets. Depending on when we can get these and whether I am at work or not, I will go out tomorrow night around Potter Street and Foster Street and Church Langley that backs onto the fields of the Common. I may not be able to get there till aftre 8pm as I may be working till 7pm, but I'll check on here first. I am happy to meet up. Kim x

- I am about tomorrow evening if you need some more help with leaflet dropping, please let me know where needs doing and how to get the leaflets !

- Done quite a few posters at Potter Street & near that side of the Common - noticed a few already up - well done! I have just done in between the ones already there to make more impact. I also put a lot on vehicles in the area and at the pubs and on their patron's cars. As a note, be careful not to poster over speed signs as we'll get in trouble! :-) Does anyone know what areas Minnie would go for walkies in? Wondering whether that is familiar and if she's gone that way? Mind you, if she was familiar with the areas, she may have come home by now unless she strayed a bit too far and got lost. Also as she is pretty and little it's possible someone has picked her up, so we need to keep postering to alert everyone. I'll run off another 50 tomorrow. DogLost - are you able to make up leaflet type poster for me/us please? I'll print/cut them and do some leaflet dropping around the surrounding areas. Thank you if you can.

Its the Potter Street area Kim and owners now feel she escaped but not 100% certain I don't think. I've not had a chance to contact them yet but hopefully will tomorrow so will be able to clarify further then. - 2011-05-09 22:09 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- I will print posters off tomorrow morning and start postering - sorry, only just turned computer on. Capote, whereabouts did Minnie come from? Church Langley, Potter Street or Foster Street side of the Common? Do we know if she escaped or somehow disappeared? Thanks.
