- Have contacted Mayhew to see how this one has recovered :)

- I've just had a look at this baby girl on Mayhew's page. How in heaven's name she managed to survive in the state she was in is a miracle - and her temperament is to die for. Whoever eventually has this little girl is one very lucky person. xx

- I emailed the rescue that were looking after this dog to see how she was getting on... Had a reply in no time and it is as follows.......... Good morning Linda, I have attached a few pictures of her 6 days on. As you can see, she is up and about and getting on well. She is at The Mayhew Animal Home who will be continuing her treatment and, as long as she passes her assessments, will be put up for homing when completely ready. The Mayhew can be contacted on 0208 969 0178 - http://www.mayhewanimalhome.org......... I have seen the pics and she is smiling...lol... but still in a terrible state.. She must have been suffering bad... If the rescue above doesnt show her feeling better then ask away and i can send them to you me and you can see her recovery pics!!

- THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR UPDATE RAF. GLAD IT WAS'NT CHEMICAL BURNS BUT CHRONIC MANGE LOOKS EXTREMELY PAINFUL TOO. SO PLEASED THE ANIMAL HOME WANTS TO KEEP HER AND GIVE HER A CHANCE TO BE REHOMED. PERHAPS IF SHE HAD BEEN STRAYING FOR A LONG TIME TO GET INTO THAT STATE HER OWNERS MAY STILL BE LOOKING FOR HER.
- 2011-05-13 10:09 lf2000
- I did think about her straying jobadger but nothing has been said about her being underweight etc so im just thinking neglect... Still, i dont know the truth so i probably shouldnt judge... She is being treated and thats all that matters... :)

- She may have been starying for a while so her condition may not have been known - although it's hard to imagine no-one noticing her. So pleased she's being treated now - thank you RAF - and animal home and vet whoever you are. {{{hug}}} xxLast edited: 2011-05-13 09:29:42 by jobadger

- As horrible it is to say thank god she has this then it being her abused... Hope she gets better soon, and its good the vets are gonna keep her longer then 7 days.. However you want to look at it her owners failed her!! And like i said, looks like old wounds too so its not just come about in the last few days/weeks.. Hope she feels better now she is being treated x

- The vet has diagnosed chronic manage which is now being treated. The animal home is keen to keep her after her 7 days and will continue treatment.
- 2011-05-12 15:01 lf2000
- Could it be a skin condition that has not been treated or defo burns of some sort?
- 2011-05-12 15:00 lf2000
- I woudnt want her to be claimed just in case it was the so called 'owners' that did this to her!!! Her treatment is gonna take more than 7 days so ooppss. When she is fit and healthy she can be found a new loving home. It looks like some injuries are older than others so surely this couldnt just be a one off?

- poor girl. are they thought to be chemical burns? we had one down here in swansea last year. she pulled through but her eyesight was affected. she was rehomed-you may have seen her on doglost as donations were made for her treatment. thanks for your update-i feel so sorry for her.

- Her injuries were quiet bad. I purposely did not post pictures that were too detailed due to this. She is being treated and kept comfortable at an animal home at present. Fingers cross they will be able to treat her and have her up for homing in the coming months if she is not claimed.

- HOW IS THIS POOR DOG NOW. IS SHE IN KENNELS? I HOPE SHE WILL BE SAFE AS SHE LOOKS TO HAVE SUFFERED SO MUCH.

- My apologies. I meant to put Akita but I had Husky’s on the brain.
I’ll change the breed. - 2011-05-11 21:37 sarah@jawt
- Would definately say an akita, we will pop her on jawt
- 2011-05-11 18:57 SARAHP
- Poor girl, she looks more like an Akita than Husky cross? Hope she gets better soon.

- 2011-05-11 17:27 lf2000

- OH POOR POOR GIRL-SHE MUST BE IN AGONY. HOPE IT WAS AN ACCIDENT AND SHE IS SOON REUNITED. THERE WAS ANOTHER LITTLE DOG SOME MONTHS BACK WITH TERRIBLE BURNS AND SHE SURVIVED AND HAS A NEW HOME SO HOPEFULLY THIS ONE WILL TOO. DONATIONS TOWARDS VET TREATMENT WAS MADE FOR THE OTHER LITTLE DOG.
