- A friend has spotted a dog that could be Brook in a small red car driven by a middle aged woman, once almost two weeks ago (Sun) in Newbarns and again on Schneider Rd on Thursday, unfortunately our friend is dyslexic and only got the last 3 digits of numberplate which are JHD, please keep a look out it may be a different dog and if so we would like to rule it out, but our friend seemed positive it was Brook. Thanks

- Perhaps this thread could be bumped now that there have been sightings of Brook. I hope the local Police have been informed since Brook now seems to be held to ransom. I will retweet and bump on Rescue Remedies forum

- Then today a woman stopped Barry in tesco and said she had seen a dog fitting Brooks description in the back of a bright blue renault Clio, yesterday (or day before) at the back of McDonalds in town, the woman went over to the car to get a closer look and the 2 youths inside noticed her and sped off leaving a bag of shopping on the kerb, it happened so quick she never get the number plate. Then Barry nipped to Asda and was talking about it with a woman he knows and she remembered seeing a blue Clio with a dog in the back last Fri at KFC with a young man driving and a young woman passenger, Barry's friend had tried to get the number but couldn't see it as it was low down and other cars etc blocked her view.

- We had a (No. withheld)call yesterday at 1pm. He said he had Brook but the reward wasn't enough, he asked for £750. I said we are both out of work and don't know how we would get the extra money just like that, he said he wanted the £500 in £20 notes and we could pay the remainder at £20 a week. I said OK then asked where Brook was and he said he would bring him up in half an hour, we waited and no-one came, they never called back even when it went dark, nothing. So don't know what to make of that.

- Do wish you would get some good news. I can't understand it as when he was seen it was in quite a built up area so you would think someone would help him. Thinking of you and not forgotten Brook or both of you! Irene

- All sightings in town yesterday seemed sure it was Brook and most mentioned he was looking very thin they could see his ribs, none mentioned his collar, if he had it or not. Prior to all this happening we had a call to say they saw him near Ainslie St, it wasn't him but a female whippet cross, lighter than Brook. We and many others tried to catch her but she was too fast and very wary we lost sight of her on Ainslie St so returned home for brew etc and to call the warden, we just sat down when we got the call from the lady in the taxi
- 2011-06-02 14:39 Shep
- Also got text yesterday afternoon at 2.45 p.m. of another sighting 15 mins earlier in the BAE car park and he ran towards Dock Museum. I asked the security guard and he said Brook was seen by the bike shed heading towards Dock Museum but that it was 2 hrs previous
- 2011-06-02 14:31 Shep
- All together 5 or more sightings around Buccleuch St before 2pm. Barry spoke to postman this morning and showed him Brook's photo, He said he was sure he saw him at 8am yesterday sat by Marks & Sparks
- 2011-06-02 14:25 Shep
- Lady passenger in a Coastline taxi called at 1.30 yesterday, she and the driver had noticed him on corner of Dalkieth & Buccleuch. Driver had photo in car, he and the lady both believe it was Brook.

- Can't understand why you have heard nothing!! I like the new poster, thanks. People keep looking just wish they would make that vital knock at the door or phone you! Someone called the other day quite late a totally different reason but I said to them I was hoping you were calling about the dog! If only!! Thinking of you, Irene

- Shep, great you have got Brook in the papers. I've swopped the photo/s over, grouped together and updated the details to show up on the poster. Keeping everything crossed you get that most important call you are waiting for. Good luck. Jan x

- Shame the image with Barry can't be printed, I have done the other one and will add the reward on the end and take to Garden Centre and vets. Good luck, Irene
- 2011-05-31 13:38 Shep
- Thanks Irene. Another article was placed in the Evening Mail yesterday with a REWARD of £250, but no response as yet. Will let you know if we hear anything.
- 2011-05-28 14:53 Irene
- Hi Shep and Barry, informed vet in Ulverston as agreed. They had not heard about Brook but said they would put him on their lost and found board. When I am that way I will drop a poster in. Also how about Crooklands Garden Centre, loads of people go there. Think not trying to attract sitings now but if someone has picked him up then someone else may have seen him and not realised he is a found or stolen dog. Anything is worth a try. Irene x
- 2011-05-22 18:46 Shep
- Posted on Lost Dog UK website today so if he is handed in to a warden in another area they will have his details and can contact us immediately, they also post the details to other websites.
Going to print some more posters to replace the damaged ones after this terrible weather and to take to other towns, car boots, markets and things.
My feeling is that someone has him and wants to keep him but after all the publicity he can't be in this area now. - 2011-05-21 14:17 Shep
- No more news I'm afraid. Don't know what to do now except hope and pray that he is being looked after by someone and that one day he will return.
Will let everyone know if any news comes in about Brook. Thanks everyone. - 2011-05-20 13:35 Shep
- Still Missing, Please keep looking, posting etc. Thanks.
The article was in the Advertiser yesterday on pg4 & with a photo of Brook on the front page. One lady called to say she had been over to kennels on Walney last Fri (13th) with her daughter and they had seen a dog fitting Brook's description, when they enquired after him they were told the dog was microchipped and it was not local.
Barry went over to the kennels first thing this morning to look at the dog, just in case, and sadly no.
He enquired about the scanning and they do scan every dog that goes in as a priority when they first arrive.
They also still have the poster on the office wall where all staff and visitors can see it. - 2011-05-19 23:10 Irene
- Could not find any article in the paper but have not received the free one. Was it in the paper? If not, when will it be? Thanks, Irene. People are looking at the notice in the window so at least people are aware if they go into Barrow.
- 2011-05-18 20:43 ejm
- Sorry to see there's no more news on Brook. I'm still keeping a look out for him and re post on facebook every day. Hope the Advertiser article brings more news

- FINGERS CROSSED. HOPEFULLY IT MIGHT JOG SOMEONES MEMORY.
- 2011-05-18 10:41 Shep
- Sorry still no news, no new sightings. There will be an article in the Advertiser this Thursday, hope that the right person sees it and we get the info we've been hoping for.
- 2011-05-17 16:33 Irene
- Is there nothing new on Brook? Was the newspaper article put in and will it be in the free paper on Thursday? He must be some where. Irene x
- 2011-05-15 09:05 dewilliams42
- I WAS GOING TO SUGGEST PERHAPS HE HAD ACCIDENTALLY GOT HIMSELF LOCKED IN SOMEWHERE LIKE A SHED BUT THEN I NOTICED IT IS 9 DAYS SINCE HE GOT LOST AND PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED. HE COULD HAVE FOLLOWED SOMEONE WHO HAS'NT REPORTED IT AS HE LOOKS SUCH A LOVELY LITTLE DOG OR A VISITOR TO THE AREA MIGHT HAVE TAKEN A FANCY TO HIM. I DO SO HOPE YOU GET SOME NEWS SOON AND HE WILL BE HOME.
- 2011-05-14 20:18 Shep
- No he doesn't like the water, 10 mins before he went missing he went to the waters edge, he got his front paws wet, his mum had all four in up to her belly
- 2011-05-14 15:27 dewilliams42
- WOULD HE HAVE GONE INTO THE WATER OR WOULD HE BE LIKE MY DOG WHO DOES'NT GET HER FEET WET IF SHE CAN HELP IT. SOME DOGS JUST JUMP IN FOR THE FUN OF IT.
- 2011-05-14 14:43 Shep
- Thanks for the suggestion dewilliams, any ideas welcomed, though I did check the sea wall a few times on my own and with his mother, all we found was a jacket and a dead bird. We have checked as many rabbit holes as we can find and his mum has dug well into a couple, but nothing, she is just sensing rabbits.
- 2011-05-14 14:27 dewilliams42
- COULD BROOK HAVE GOT STUCK SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU FOUND HIS MOTHER ESPECIALLY IF HE STICKS CLOSE TO HER. ARE THERE ANY HOLES/CREVICES IN THE SEA WALL? JUST A THOUGHT BUT PROBABLY ALREADY CHECKED.
- 2011-05-14 13:23 Irene
- Hi Shep any more sightings as nothing added since 12/5. Have you posters all around the area he has been seen? What can I do to help, so sorry Brook is not home by now. Irene x
- 2011-05-12 19:18 Shep
- Thanks ejm, We live in Ormsgill near to the pub so he is half way, but the sightings are all in the vicinity of where his mum lives on Mount Pleasant.
Could you put a poster up in Ulverston for us please, we would normally have been taking Brook there today for the boot sale he has been going to Ford Park since a pup, he was there last week and loved it even though it was raining. Thanks again - 2011-05-12 18:20 ejm
- Had a quick drive down Cav Dock Rd on way to work early this morning, then had a drive round Ramsden st, Kings, Albion and St Georges area on way home tonight but saw nothing. Have to rush home to Ulverston after work to get my own dogs out for a walk so couldn't spend too long but will do a couple of drive arounds again tomorrow. If he's not home by Saturday I'll have more time to have a good walk around. Whereabouts do you live .... does he seem to be heading in the right direction for home?
- 2011-05-12 16:52 Shep
- Another possible sighting reported.
Outside Perry's Offie on Ramsden St. at 6am today
Not 100% sure but matching Brook.
The walker thought dog was waiting for someone. - 2011-05-12 16:11 Shep
- Thanks to Irene for putting poster up in Askam and the encouraging words
- 2011-05-12 16:09 Shep
- We have had a couple more sightings in town centre, yesterday about 3.30 near old St. Georges school and this morning about 8.30 near roundabout by the Kings, Albion and Majestic.

- Thanks BuddieHolly, much appreciated.
If we get him back I would like to bring him to one of your classes, it might take his mind of rabbits. - 2011-05-12 10:46 BuddieHolly

- Shep, thank you for posting an update on his page. I have emailed you some info/advice and Scenting Instructions to help you in your search. There is details of lots of places to try and things to do in the email. Great that he is CHIPPED. Posters and getting him in the papers are the key to getting him back. Good luck. Jan x
- 2011-05-11 19:08 Shep
- Thanks ejm, there is a small chance he got over to Barrow Island and as he doesn't normally approach strangers he may well be in the dock areas sheltering or looking to get out. Barry is going to pick Brooks mum up and go back to Cav Dock shortly and a couple with their dogs who know Brook are on their way to the pump house and back of power station area upto the church (St Michael's) I think.

- Hi, sorry to see Brook is missing. My dad & my partner both work at Barrow docks, although over the other side, I'll ask them both to keep an eye open. I work in Barrow town centre so will have my eyes peeled when out and about too, I saw the article in the paper last night and added your contact no's to my phone just in case. I will also post this on facebook. Hope you find him soon.
