Just the most wonderful news !! !! Many thanks to CJ who called me when the news came in that Bazil (Eve) had got Tia and she was safe and sound ! Thanks to ALL who helped by postering and searching for Tia but special thanks have to go to the farmer, Jill and the brilliant Eve who has worked tirelessly postering and searching for Tia. Eve I think it was very fitting and so well deserved that you were there at the end to hand Tia back to her family ! When I spoke to you you said how much you wanted to get this girl home again and all the postering and hard work came up trumps !!! Vicandlee I am just so happy for you and your family and hopefully Tia will now be getting a chip. Welcome home little Tia and please stay safe from now on xx PamLast edited: 2011-05-29 21:53:05 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

Well what can I say, woopee, yipee i am so happy. What a feeling! Even my hubby was trembling and tearful when we finally got to meet tiny Tia.
Fistly a massive thank you to Jill and her family and neighbours who actually sighted Tia and rang me. Tia was seen up Silverhills last night so we take it she had slept there on the farm then wandered off. Jill was out walking her dog when she saw Tia and had to get hold of her dog. Tia ran off and luckily a poster was right in front of Jill and she called me immediately. As we were on our way she went to the farmhouse and mentioned she had seen Tia and asked the farmer to keep a lookout. Tia returned to the farmhouse and it was a Springer Spaniel who cornered her. Tia was shaking and scared as they have 2 other labradors and this enabled the farmer and family to get hold of her. We were called back and it was a wonderful feeling to finally see Tia held in a young woman's arms safe and had already eaten a little food. Thank you Famer and family you and your dogs were brilliant.
When we got to vicandlee they had not received my voicemail saying I had Tia and we were bringing her home so you can imagine what followed, shock, tears and happiness and a little girl absolutely overjoyed to see her pet returned. Tia seemed to settle straight away. I think she already new she was home when we pulled up in the car (we sat terrified to open the doors incase she tried to jump out of my hubby's arms) she gave 2 little barks when she could see children playing outside her house. All I can say is postering and the flyers i handed out in that area on Friday paid off. Tia darling please stay safe, your family adore you and never want to go through this again. I think her mum will never let her out of sight again. Hopefully after a visit to the vets to get Tia checked and everything is ok, she will settle back in to her home again. Now i am going to go and have a little drink to celebrate as I was too tired last night to have alcohol on my night out haha. xxx Jill your quick response and calmness brought Tia home, THANK YOU again wonderful lady xxxLast edited: 2011-05-29 19:56:42 by BBKM

Probably a stupid prank but so very annoying to say the least, bazil i have sent you an email re this lad.
BBKM
I was already to do go out for a meal earlier when owner got the call Tia was up Silverhills. Had to drive up there hoping to see her caught. As I got to that area my mobile rang and it was a young lad who said he had my dog. At first I thought he was genuine until I asked him where he was (thinking Silverhills area) then he said to me at Chester River, well that just blew me as it is about 4/5 mile away from where I was. I said he can't have her as she was near Kibblesworth and he hung up on me. I kept trying to call him back but he was rejecting my calls. He done the same to vicandlee when I passed the number to her. I drove around but could see no one in the Silverhills area where I was and I had to go home to go out. Have not heard from vicandlee since and I did say it was alright to call or text me while I was out. I am still not sure about these Kibblesworth sightings on Facebook can thye be confirmed as accurate. Hope you ok vicandlee, thinking about you and your family xxx
hello janey
silver hills is a good way from the sightings she is usually in,,and is a huge area of fields and countryside,,i think if this is Tia it will be even harder to track her down,,did the latest sightings mention the limp she seemed to have? I would have thought someone would have tried to pick her up if injured without knowing she is even missing,,have the vets all got a pic of Tia just in case with her not being chipped?
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
no news I'm afraid ! from posts on her facebook page it looks likke she had vanished again by the time they got there !

OWNER has just had a SIGHTING OF TIA in SILVER HILL KIBBLESWORTH !! she is on her way there ............. fingers crossed everyone !!!
BBKM
I had a good look around this area today, lots of places she could be hiding. I too think she has a hide out very near to this area. Hoping she is home soon. Off to bed for an early start and hopefully some sightings tomorrow xx
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Oh how frustrating ! Tia really IS giving you all the run around ! If she keeps vanishing and reappearing quickly in the Felling Square area her hiding place may not e far from here. Have you looked for any likely places ? Are there any empty houses or overgrown gardens in the area or blocks of garages she could be hiding up behind ? Keep up the good work and we all have everything crossed that she is home very soon xx
BBKM
I was out walking Tia's route from Springwell to Felling Square when vicandlee phoned to say she was at Felling square. I was on Springwell Road at Leam Lane and my car was at Wagon pub so i thumbed a lift off a woman who was going to Felling Square (1st car I stopped). I was there in less than 5 mins but no Tia and loads of people about but no one had seen her???? I searched the area but no sightings apart from yesterday on Ridley Terrace/ Sunderland Road. Man saw her hanging around down there for a while. Where is this girl going after sightings in Felling sq. I was now stuck down Felling with no car and no money. Thanks hubby for coming to get me and a massive thank you to the lady who gave me a lift (Sandra i think, sorry can't remember your name i was hyped up)really thought i was going to get Tia this time as i got there so quick. Gutted xx
BBKM
Gutted and deflated again. Got to Felling square in less than 10 mins and not one person we asked had seen her only the person who made the phone call (genuine sighting). We walked around, driving around and went up the assumed route she takes as next line of her triangle a few times. Spoke to some other people who had seen her at other times and told us the most likely route she is taking to get back up to Low Fell. Barmaid in the Three Tuns confirmed the route as she saw her last night when she finished work on Broadway Sherrif Hill. Tia was zig zagging across the road in and out of gardens. Barmaid has a flyer with numbers on and told her to call even if it is late tonight when she finishes work. Makes me wonder if Kibblesworth sighting has been genuine if Tia up at Sherrif Hill around midnight. Vicandlee setting trap tomorrow then we will have to be very very patient and hope Tia takes the bait xx Last edited: 2011-05-26 22:11:37 by BBKM
vicandlee
No luck tonight, Bazil was out at the felling square sighting and i had people waiting on old durham road beaconlough road lowfell for her coming back down and still nothing! iv postered and refreshed old ones, gave one to ale tasters in low fell and taxi drivers on the rank and shop windows , postered up beaconlough thru to belle vue bank. I was waiting for another sighting before setting the trap so we will do that tomorrow and hope that i have luck on my side.I hope she snuggled up somewhere out of the wind and rain and pray she comes back home tomorrow.Had lots of kind people looking for her tonight that have gone out of there way and have driven to give me posters!!

Been out postering in Kibblesworth and immediate areas around it and Lamesley. Still got Birtley to do. Done some A5 flyers to hand out to people and put on dog walkers cars. Handed a few out already. Thanks again Liz for printed posters, (hope your doggie is getting better)and vicandlee fingers crossed we get another sighting today. See you soon x
vicandlee
Out postering tonight and replacing the ones that have been ripped down or blown off, Bazil dealing with Kibblesworth area as she has relatives there. We were about to set the trap but because the areas are widening,we are waiting for more sightings and to see if she will come back closer to home.
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
BUMPED due to a SIGHTING last night around midnight in the KIBBLESWORTH area !!
vicandlee
I am about to drive round with bazil, keeping to this triangle that she is following, the phone calls have stopped so i am at a loss for the moment as what to do! The worst is the waiting game and these quiet days inbetween, if only i knew where she was going when the calls stops ;-( metro radio may be putting a shout out about her and newcastle radio also.
BBKM
Just got back in from postering again in different areas in and around Tia's triangle. Been no sightings today, i think she may be in an unpostered area. Spoke to a dog walker tonight who had seen her a couple of days ago in the park opposite the Jolly Miller pub, Cedars green in Low Fell / Harlowgreen area. Lots of people in park and wondering who her owners were as she was alone, she wandered off after playing with other dogs. This seems to be on route to one of her triangle points Eighton Banks/Springwell. Also vicandlee been told she was on the central reservation at Whitemere Pool on Saturday, she possibly went down to Leam Lane from Springwell on Friday evening leading her to Whitemere Pool. Back in to Springwell on Sunday evening. Tia stay safe little darling, we want you home with your family xx

Vicandlee ......as well as using the trap you are getting from NESSR we can also get the cat trap one of our co ordinators further south has sent up to you as we discussed earlier. Will call you later to discuss this. x Pam
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Thanks so much to NESSR who are lending Tias owners a trap !!! hello janey thanks for getting more posters photocopied ! we have had reports that Tia was seen late last night dragging her leg but hopefully this is just a cut or thorn or maybe she has knocked it with all the leaping about she is doing.... so try not to worry too much vicandlee xxx Come on Tia irs time you were back home xxx
BBKM
NESSR springer spaniel rescue have got a trap for us, collecting later, i have some posters getting delivered at lunchtime today (thanks Liz) Possible sighting last night of Tia limping. Vicandlee waiting for confirmation /time of this.
hello janey
hang on in there,,your both doing brilliant,,stuck at home without transport today so cant do this for you,,but I took a poster and photocopied it in huge numbers at 5p a copy,,mainly the 4 on a page ones,,cut up and postered car windscreens with them where I knew he was,,for you,,,saltwell park?? she is holding her own,,and you will get her home, just checked you can get the trap on ebay for around £30 so must be able to buy it local?? hope some sightings come in today xLast edited: 2011-05-24 11:19:48 by hello janey
vicandlee
Thanks everyone, last night was the worst for me because when i took the call regarding the sighting the lady said the people had got her then of course they hadn't but still trying to stay positive. The lady who we met last night is printing some posters off for us (this is what we are struggling with)I don't have a printer and Bazil is waiting for an ink delivery of the net. If anyone at all can print some posters, even a hand full will help as some are missing in Lowfell and we need to poster Allerdene, Saltwell and Wrekenton. I have had no success with a trap, Deerness kennels get theres from the Cat Protection and that's who told me i was an idiot to take advice such as using a trap. I will never again give my money to the RSPCA or Cat Protection, i am sure some areas are different but i pay monthly to help these people and what have they done for my helpless dog NOTHING!! And that goes for the so called Dog Warden too (rant over)
mandym
Shared on my facebook page, i hope she comes home soon....
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Bazil thankyou so much ........you have been such a wonderful help and support for Vicandlee !! When a dog is on the run like this it is very draining both emotionally and physically but you are getting so close to her now and have a really good idea of her movements ! with regard to your question about the triangle from previous experience she is very likely to stay in thia triangular pattern but may from time to time branch out from one of the sides of the triangle in the hope of finding where she needs to be. When they do this is it may be the times when you dont get any sightings if the new area they have gone to is not postered. Usually when they dont find what they want they return to the original triangle. Everyone who is looking for Tia please do try not to chase after her as this will only frighten her and make her bolt away. I know its so frustrating ! Everything crossed that tomorrow is the day Tia goes home xxLast edited: 2011-05-23 23:31:54 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

Elaine when I last spoke to vicandlee she had been let down and unable to borrow a cat trap from the people she had hoped would lend her one !!But was trying a kennels again and i havent heard from her yet if she was able to get one from them. If not I will put an appeal out to see if we can borrow one and get it transported up there. I'm also wondering if a fox trap might be a suitable size for Tia .The only other alternative if they cant borrow one is to buy one. x PamLast edited: 2011-05-23 23:17:11 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

I have tears tonight as i am exhausted, just got back in. Just want this little girl home safe now. Vicand lee you must feel absolutely drained. I have sat in my car and watched the cemetary/allottments for over 2hrs and kept getting out with binoculars scouring a million headstones to see if she was still in there and walked around several times. Went down Bensham Hospital, near railway lines no sight of her. I have also drove back and forwards to the Gold Medal, nothing. On my way home I have driven up to Brysons and Springwell to see if I could see her on route. She has done a perfect triangle with a range of about 2-3 mile each side. Can anyone tell me if she will keep going in the same direction xLast edited: 2011-05-24 11:45:17 by BBKM

Did you get a cat trap?
vicandlee
Well, i had a call from a woman to say Tia was at Saltwell park, the top end near the crematory and "i think she has got her" me and eve shot over and the couple had chased her over the road into the cemetery, we searched all down near the gold medal, team vally and allerdene im gutted!! she got away again, infact gutted is not the word. I dont know how much longer i can do this...

Been running all round Durham Road, Joicy,Valley drive, the allotmonts of Joicy Road and Saltwell Road. No sightings since Saltwell Road running into the woods aside the allotments around 2.45PM Searched the woods with another Minpin owner and the allotments twice. I was rang by the Dog Warden to tell me my dog was on Saltwell Road and i then asked if he was meeting me there.....his responce "im dealing with another dog!!!" Im not a violent person but i could make an exception for him ;-)

vicandlee
Seen 730am in felling square caked in mud and clay!!! (clay quarrie at Brysons) Bazil went straight there, searched Felling, Springwell, Brysons and Lowfell but no sign. Dog Warden informed (not that he is any use) and the police also know she is running round that area on the roads.
vicandlee
Thanks Janie, the sightings was pretty late but at least she staying in that area which gives us a better chance of seeing her.
hello janey
have been up that way a few times throughout the day,,street was very busy but no sign of Tia ;-(
vicandlee
First sighting in springwell village opposite the village hall, me and Bazil went straight there, then got a call of sighting on the old railway at the back of Brysons, we were coming into the field when i saw her at the other end of the field running out of the gate and a man was there as she came running past.He confirmed black and tan minpin and we were coming in the bottom as she ran out the top of the field!!!!!!!!!!!!! A field length away...... I scented late last night in that exact field and all round brysons so it is obv keeping her there! Going tomorrow to do more scenting and hopefully get the trap.
BBKM
Managed to poster Birtley roundabout, Allerdene hill up to Wrekenton, a few up at Sherriff Hill and down at Leam Lane. More up at Springwell Road and Brysons. Springwell village needs postering, only had 1 left for there. We checked behind pubs for her, must be feeding from somewhere poor little girl, hope she has got herself a cosy den somewhere, keeping safe. Spoke to more dog walkers all keeping a lookout for Tia. I am up in Cresswell tomorrow morning postering again for Meg lost 22/4/11. Hoping to be back home early afternoon so available from then, if needed, to search for Tia,here's hoping she is back home before then. Please text me of any progress vicandlee, stay strong xx
hello janey
have you asked the cat protection league at Waldridge?? they also just opened another new place there,,they could possibly have one ;-) been travelling this way to and from work,,nothing to report yet either,,but at least you know she is out there,,that something! she must be feeding somewhere so have been checking the local shops etc for her hanging about,,poor little soul must be hungry ;-(
vicandlee
Thanks Hamish&Katy

posted on facebook about cat trap and Jennie suggested contacting http://www.shak.org.uk/contact.html
vicandlee
He finishes at 4 on a Friday so its Monday he comes back on shift and iv been promised one Monday from Deerness Kennels
Snoopy
Have the R.S.P.C.A. not heard of disinfectant then? Whatever she caught you could have dealt with just need her back. Another friend has suggested the dog warden may have a trap.
vicandlee
They have had me in tears Elaine, made me feel like my dog was not important enough, i said i would collect from anywhere but still "we don't do that" but good luck!....yea good luck to the other animals as well, coz i would get more help from a blind man!!! Macminpin, no she didn't like being in a box and just travelled in the car with a dog harness but thanks for your prayers, i need all i can get on the 9th day!!!
Snoopy
vicandlee I found these instructions for home made traps. Don't know if your builders could knock you one up. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091115191825AAzG8oZ
Snoopy
Shame on you R.S.P.C.A yet again. 2 words "Risk Assessment"
macminpin
Is Tia used to having a box for travelling and sleeping in? Might be worth while putting it in a quiet area around where she seems to be most hanging out? A scared Pin will dive for cover in their box ... and also ...loads of strangers trying to catch her will make her even more inclined to run scared ... so if possible phone the owners and let them approach her quietly. From personal experience.. a frightened Pin becomes almost deaf and blind ... mine didn't recopgnise my voice until I was almost touching her ... and was ready to make another run for it :-( Sorry I am too far away to help but prayers that she is home soon.
vicandlee
Bazil, iv got plastic covers if you want to pop and get them on ya way over. Im grounded till about 5, iv got the builders in!! Got 2 experienced minpin owners up there now.
vicandlee
Thanks Elaine
vicandlee
Tried everyone!! THE RSPCA turned round and said NO!!! I am absolutely disgusted, they said they don't do that and the reason..... because the dog could catch something from the cats and foxes that have been caught in them!! Even though the dog was hit by a car and could be injured they would not budge!!!! Well i feel sorry for animals if that is the people looking out for them its a disgrace!!!
BBKM
Going to pop out and get some plastic covers and paper, then i will print off posters and get them up there today. Will keep a look out for her. I spoke to alot of dog walkers last night and residents on both Wrekenton and Springwell estates and handed out contact numbers, lots of nice people keeping a lookout for Tia xx
Snoopy
Try local vets or catteries for a trap. Monday seems a long way away.
Snoopy
I'm in the North West but will put plea for trap on face book. You never know. Does the dog shelter she has been seen near have an old cat travelling cage that could be left out to tempt her into?
vicandlee
Thanks for your advice everyone! I have a def cat trap on Monday from Deerness kennels in Durham, i just missed the last trap by an hour!!!!! The sightings have stopped today, it has been quiet so if anyone is in the Wrekenton area some posters would be great. No dog warden on at the weekend so the more helpers the better, don't like it when the phone goes quiet so praying for a sighting soon! Bazil... you are amazing! thanks for your help xxx If anyone knows of a cat trap available before Monday in the area please let me know.
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
BUMPED due to several SIGHTINGS of Tia yesterday including those in Wrekenton, Springwell Estate and near to Brysons Cat and Dog Shelter. Postering has helped bring in more sightings which are very encouraging and indicate a definite area she is covering ..... well done to all who are helping ! Hoping that she is caught today !
Snoopy
I'm sure you do anyway but keep shouting her. Min Pins have exceptional hearing.
BBKM
Thanks for advice, so worried about the amount of busy roads she is crossing. Vicandlee if you need me tomorrow, anytime, just give me a call or text, lets hope we get your Tia back home with you tommorrow. Its great what you have done, praying it keeps her near Brysons tonight xx
hello janey
At least she may now stay around Brysons area and more sightings will come in making her easier to track down,,she will be comforted by them and the jumpers will let her know your there,my boy was hysterical when found but calmed down immediately my coat was put around him, even though he couldnt see me ;-)your all doing a great job,,and I have great faith she will be home soon x
Snoopy
Excellent, wish I had suggested it sooner but only just read postings of sightings. Failing a cat trap does she have her own travelling cage at home that could be left out?
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Since my last post I have spoken to Vicandlee and advised with regard using and obtaining a cat trap. In view of the fact she is running across busy roads and in danger of being injured I think we really need to have one set up ASAP.
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Elaine I do agree with you that a cat trap may be the best way of catching little Tia. I have borrowed them in the past in my area from the local Cat Protection League so Vicandlee it may be worth asking them if you can borrow one. I am not suprised she is venturing near to the dog shelter as the sound and smell of the other dogs will be attracting her ..... dogs in Tia's situation will often do this.
Snoopy
I have Min Pins. They go wild and scatty if chased. Best if you can coax them to come to you. Does anyone have a cat trap food and owners clothing could be left in? So hope she is home soon. x
vicandlee
I went back to brysons and did the scenting from around springwell all across the fields and back, to the door of the dog shelter, iv also left 2 of my daughters tops near the unused crossing to the fields at the back of brysons so maybe that will keep her there if she does venture in the area again.x

Well this little girl is giving us a right good chase. These are positive sightings but she is so fast no one can catch her and so small she can escape through any gate or fence. Has anyone got any advice how to try and get her to stay in one specific area. Can't believe she ended up across the road from a cat & dog shelter this morning They were so close in catching her but she ran off through the gate. Help!! Need to get her home safe asap xx
hello janey
you have my number if anything comes up,,Annabel ;-)
vicandlee
She going up from low fell to wrekenton, the sighting was from staff at a dog shelter and a the second from a postman, the other sightings at springwell are just down the side of brysons dog shelter and then wrekenton which is just down from springwell so they are very close together

Thanks to all who are offering advice and help !!Have just spoken to Tias owner but I am sorry to say there have been no definite sightings of her since Sunday. Her owner is unsure if the sighting in Felling could be her and needs more sightings there to be sure its her and needs to poster this area more thoroughly . Any help with this would be greatly appreciated ! This sighting in Felling is 3 miles from where she went missing and all the other sightings have been in an area between her old and new house. Hopefully posters will bring in more sightings.
Vicnandlee have you left any food in the area of the sightings ? If you havent done so it might be worth a try to see if this brings her out. Do you think the man on the alltoments who gave her water would be prepared to leave some food out ? If you do this keep using the same place and use something a bit more 'special' to a her than food she may be finding by rummaging in rubbish or picking up from pavements such as smelly mashed up sardines and chicken. Hoping you get more sightings soon xxLast edited: 2011-05-19 11:46:22 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

Hi just to update on behalf of owner who is having issues getting online, the dog has been sighted on saturday 14/5 beside the cannon pub low fell, she was hit by a car but ran off and was last seen running along fern gardens off joicey rd. She has been seen on sunday in the allotments near to saltwell park, but no sighting since. Malicious phonecall received last night saying the dog was dead. The area has been extensively postered. She seems to be sighted around durham road at 3pm and 6-8pm Thankyou

Have spoken to Tia's owners and hopefully they will be getting a photo of her to us ASAP.Dog wardens and stray kennels have been contacted. Tia was being walked yesterday afternoon when she slipped her collar and ran off back in the direction of home. She was last seen running along Durham Road, Lowfell heading in the direction of Gateshead. There have been 2 SIGHTINGS of 2 women with long brown hair driving a white van (possibly a Peugeot Expert or Citroen Dispatch) who were trying to catch Tia. CCTV cameras are being checked for more sightings of this van and to see if they did manage to pick Tia up. I have advised her owners to POSTER as much as they can to raise maximum public awareness for Tia. Hoping to see Tia back home very soon xLast edited: 2011-05-13 14:13:57 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
