- I know what you mean, solitairejane, it's difficult to remain detached when you care for animals because they are so vulnerable no matter who they belong to, and we want to know they're back home in their familiar surroundings with their loved ones. I, too, feel your concern. You have done more than anyone could expect towards this end. There's lots of us routing for Millie to be found and I, like you, am praying for her safe return.

- Didnt hear back from owner. I think they would have let me know if it was millie. I can't stop thinking about this dog, it is so upsetting. My husband can't understand why I get upset over other peoples animals but I do.
- 2011-05-26 21:56 solitairejane
- Thanks jackalee I have text the owner. Please let it be millie.

- Fully understand how you feel, solitairejane, and deeply commiserate with you. You did well and I commend you and at least the poor dog is not suffering now. Glad you agree with my idea of a visit and thanks for texting owner with suggestion. Take care.....

- I've sent text to owner re importance of visiting in person and looking at all kennels. Story of bobby might give her some hope. X
- 2011-05-23 21:27 solitairejane
- Yes CP, owner needs to visit again. I will let them know about bobby. Had a terrible day today, on way home from work and a dog had been hit by a bus. A lady stopped and others had gathered around him but noone was willing to help. We got a blanket any got him in the car and took him to my local vets were he was put to sleep, trauma was too serious. Been so upset over millie and now this literally around the corner from home, just feeling so sad inside. Poor dog was only four, and lived around the corner from me but owner on benefit and couldn't afford to pay so vet was very good. Think I will be having an early night tonight, feeling very stressed.
- 2011-05-23 20:52 CP
- Is there any chance of owner visiting RSPCA Halewood to check in person if Millie is there, considering how Bobby (Lost 29953) was not recognised by them when owner originally 'phoned with his description? Jan, I know you have visited on 18th, but feel sure you'll agree it's well worth while owner checking if they are able.
- 2011-05-23 12:22 CP
- Have dropped off Millie's poster at Alder Vet Hospital and they checked their lost dog book (which is done regularly) for any incoming dogs answering her description; unfortunately, no luck there. Her details have been entered in this log. As we know, Alder Vet Hsptl is the first port of call for dog wardens with injured dogs.

- Forgot to say thanks Jan and CP, you are wonderful.

- Hello sending posters to bootle strand office tomorrow to ask them to be kind enough to put them up. Noticed more of the posters I put up in seaforth have been removed. Just a case of andrea now continuing to contact and visit the rspca and other dog charities in case as you say she has been 'shipped out' let's hope she is ok and found soon.

- Jane and CP thank you for your continued help. Jane sorry to read about your nan and that you have not been well.
I did speak to Millie's owner (see post 19.05.11 20:01). The link to their site is in the advice/info email and I also attached the cropped photo for Andrea to forward onto the AW's, just checked and her details have not been updated or photo added.
I've been to Halewood RSPCA and looked out for Millie. Jan x - 2011-05-21 20:52 CP
- Solitairejane, so sorry to hear you've been unwell. You've been so thorough in your efforts, it'll just take that one person to see a poster that will bring results for all your hard work. Would you know has owner been able to poster Bootle Strand, which would give a wide coverage for Seaforth to Bootle as this shopping area brings in lots of people from both districts? I feel it may be necessary for her, out of politeness, to first ask permission from the office (which is on the lower level at the back of the Strand); particularly in view of your bus shelters experience.
- 2011-05-21 16:15 solitairejane
- Hi CP I also put a poster up in the Freshfield Charity Shop in St John's Rd, Waterloo on Thursday as well as the vets. I've not been well today so didn't get out. I did notice yesterday that some posters I put up in bus shelters have been removed - really cant see why the bus authorities would have a problem with it, I am really annoyed! Hope Millie comes home soon, she has been constantly on my mind since she went missing. I think more so because she is so local to me.
- 2011-05-21 15:53 solitairejane
- Thanks CP. The dog found in L28 wasn't millie either. Hope this dog is reunited too if they have an owner. We just have to keep hoping she is handed in x
- 2011-05-21 11:25 CP
- You're really working hard, solitairejane, well done for all your efforts. As Millie has been missing now for over 7 days (which seems to be the stipulated period for rspca to keep strays), in case she has been "shipped" out to another rescue centre by now, I have contacted Animals in Need and Freshfields Animal Rescue giving Millie's ID no. on DL pages. They have both logged her details and contact no.'s and are checking to see if she has come into them. Both were very keen to help. Hurry up Millie, get yourself seen....

- Hi Jan I keep sharing this page on my FB. I put more posters up in crosby, waterloo on thurs and was going to do bootle but my nan was involved in a car accident thurs night, she's ok, so I was at hers yesterday. I am going to head off to Bootle today. Someone must have her. I sent a message to andrea to say that the animals wardens email address where I sent Millies details to needed a clearer picture. She is ather brothers today so going to sort that. Fingers crossed. x

- Thanks Jane and Jackalee for checking the AW site.
I did visit Halewood RSPCA myself on 18th so if the found one you refer to Jane is in there it was not Millie. I checked with the office and they had only one female handed in and that was possible the one you have mentioned. I was really hoping it was Millie.
It is important any kennels are visited in person at least once a week. Still waiting for better photo/s of Millie. Jan x - 2011-05-20 11:38 Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester

Had reply back to say finder has taken dog to halewood so don't know if the dog also had white markings. Hope this dog is reunited too if they have a loving owner. - 2011-05-19 20:48 CP
- Jane, you're doing sterling work; I didn't mean to suggest you do Bootle area as well. I was just trying to get a "flavour" of a possible direction as, reading the thread, it seemed there was knowledge of Millie taking the Seaforth to Waterloo route. And Jan, as ever, you're doing sterling work.

- Hello CP at the moment I have only had chance to do crosby. I will get onto bootle area later. The owner has rung around everywhere but someone may have taken her in and not informed the dw or halewood so hopefully the posters might work. I work but had today off so first opportunity to try and help but wish I could get through the area faster. Thanks for the advice. Jane
- 2011-05-19 13:18 CP
- Notice, solitairejane, that you are concentrating on Seaforth going towards Waterloo. Is it possible she could have headed in the opposite direction, towards Bootle area, say, Rimrose Road/Knowsley Rd.?
- 2011-05-19 12:37 solitairejane
- Ive put more posters up on crosby beach and one of the main roads from seaforth to waterloo on the bus shelters. Having lunch then on a good long walk with my dog putting some more up in waterloo marina and through doors close to where she went missing. X

- Andrea has contacted the right authorities, Police and some kennels in the area. Also reported her to the AW when Millie first went missing, they did ring her back, I've checked their site but cannot see her registered on there. Andrea is going to check with them, I've advised a photo is also emailed to them. As soon as brother is able to scan more photo/s they will be sent to us.
Details have now been updated, the mobile number solitairejane posted below added and also Andrea email address. Further info/advice can now be emailed to her. Jan x - 2011-05-18 21:17 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

- COPIED FROM OTHER INFO BOX posted by solitairejane:
I spotted a poster the owner had put up on the field where we take our dog in seaforth. I text the lady and told about this website and she was going to get her brother to do it on his computer. I have decided to post in case there was a delay. It's been a week now and no sign of millie. She is a loved family pet and just feel so heart broken for the owner. The phone number is the owners but the email address is mine. Just want to help this lady desperately. Millie is very friendly, good natured - 2011-05-18 20:50 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Thanks again solitairejane for all your help. I've not long tried to contact owner again and getting no answer. Need an email to send info/advice to family and numbers to try.
I did finish work early today and called in Halewood RSPCA, they are not normally open on a Wednesday but I was able to have a look around the kennels. They have only had one black & white female handed in from the Seaforth area, checked this dog out and it was not Millie.
I've walked round all the kennels to double check and I could not see her in Halewood.
solitairejane, I will copy what you put in the Other Info box into a post as whatever is typed in this box comes up on the DL posters. Will update the details so posters can be printed off but will also do various size posters a.s.a.p.
Posters are the key to getting Millie back, if she is handed into kennels they are only kept for 7 days and can then be legally rehomed. Keeping everything crossed someone sees a poster and family get that most important phone call. Jan x - 2011-05-18 20:04 solitairejane

Would like to see a happy ending. Breaks my heart.

- Hello Jan. The owner Andrea has been calling different places but I have suggested she visits halewood. I was in work today and I text her to say if she wanted a lift up there tomorrow but not heard back. After work today I have put a few posters up in litherland and seaforth on bus stops. Fingers crossed. Jane
