Sue, Anthea is no longer dealing with this owing to previous ill health and now other commitments. I am Jasper's co-finder, having looked after him for several days myself. Just to let everyone know we are still actively looking for him. Jasp now has a new Facebook page: JASPER LITTLEMAN (Missing Jack Russell Cross). Thanks, Jan

Hello June - not Jasper, sorry. We've met Alfie and he's longer coated and a fair bit bigger than Jasp. Jasper also doesn't have issues with other dogs, children, etc, just with himself, sadly (afraid to bark). We promise to keep everyone posted if there's news of any kind, hopefully positive.
June
I'm sure you are aware but I was struck at the similarity between Jasper and Alfie at Maxicare. http://www.maxicare-dog-rehoming.org/Adopt.html
I have been comparing them and even Alfie's story about coming back to them. I am longing for this little dog to be found safe.
AntheaB
Hi mcbride - many thx, but not jasper sadly. I check as many rescues on a weekly basis as I can even though most of them should have jasper's photo and details. I always check here too of course, but he seems to have vanished into thin air. We'll keep trying to find him, won't give up but have reason to believe all's not well - can't say any more on open forum. The posters we're putting out now pretty much spell out what we've been told could have happened to him, and we're postering them right outside the owner's flat. He's lying low and isn't responding, which isn't something you'd do if you were innocent really. We did that to see if we could get a response because if someone accused us of neglecting and harming an animal we'd sure as hell respond to put things right, but this person hasn't done that, which doesn't bode well really. In the meantime, I'm concentrating on finding other lost dogs in the area and getting on with life. I let Jasper take up so much of it in the first few weeks, I need to get back on track, even though I'll never give up trying to find him or what happened to him. xx
mcbride
Hi AntheaB, was looking at Many Tears website and there is a male JR on there called Mush rescued from a pound on 31/05/11 Description is very close to Jasper but white on face seems wider and ears not up but wondered if it could of been the way photo was taken? He is on the skinny side too [heres hoping xx] Thought it was worth letting you know. Hope you have some positive news soon, McbrideLast edited: 2011-06-29 15:58:58 by mcbride

I'm sure you must've checked but a Jack Russell found today could be Jasper from the brief description given. Still hoping so much for all these lost ones in Northampton.
AntheaB
Hi all - not really a break, at least not a holiday, but got me away for a while. thank you all so much for your continued help and support. Absolutely no news I'm afraid, at least nothing positive. Can't say to much on an open forum. We're spending best part of today searching the site where Sid's recently been spotted, but back to work tomorrow, so hoping to find some positive leads on the poor boy, if only for Geoff's sanity. Will keep you posted. XXX
Scrappy2010
Shared this little man on Paddys people and my wall. Come on Jasper, it really is time to come home boy. x
Scrappy2010
Still no news on this little Man then. ?
mon
Hi all, well we are all still keeping our fingers crossed that Jasper will appear in the blue, hope you have a good break Anthea, Mon
Scrappy2010
Still no news on Jasper....Come on boy give us a clue pleaseeeeeee. Shared again on FB. x
Beanie245
Hi Anthea, Along with Tucker's I have passed Jasper's details on to a friend who has delivery vans/drivers always out and about the Northants area... We are searching tirelessly and following a few promising leads from our poster's re Tucker and including Jasper in our search... Camera always at the ready just in case. Have noticed your ads on lots of sites hoping its just a matter of time before someone see's him.
Beanie245
Angus just noticed your request re our little friend and will send direct to you... very distressing but would hate someone who's looking not to be able to find closure.... many thanks for your help also.
dewilliam42 Good point local vets may remember/ recognize the description.
Scrappy2010
Lovely Jasper shared again on FB.
dewilliams42
HOPE YOU HAVE A PLEASANT BREAK AWAY-RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES!!. WAS THINKING IF THAT POOR LITTLE DOG HAD A BANDAGE ON HIS LEG PERHAPS LOCAL VETS MIGHT RECOGNISE THE DESCRIPTION.?
DogLostAngus
Hi Beanie - if you can send the pictures to admin or directly to me doglostbucks@ymail.com we can keep them on file incase a possible match comes in for the poor soul, thank you for everything that you have done to lay him to rest.
Beanie245
Hi Anthea- We also worry that someone may be searching for the poor little mite we found and have kept pics just in case I have searched sites ie. terrier missing with bandage etc. but no luck yet and like you do not want to distress anyone unnecessarily.. although knowing what both of us are going through feel it may help someone else in the same position find some kind of closure.. hence I have posted a brief advert in the welland valley feeds newsletter offering for anyone with a terrier still missing to get in touch for more details etc. If admin want pics they could maybe advise next step or appropriate action, I did email the details and circumstance to them on Friday.
Enjoy your break and we will keep looking for both Tucker and Jasper!! X
AntheaB
hi de - not sure who put the blanket there. it could have been a member of the public. seems more likely because a decent person wouldn't dump him in the first place. It is really sad isn't it.
I'm going away for a few days and will have someone else keeping a watch on this. Haven't heard from admin if they want me to put up the photos of that poor mite, but not comfortable with doing that anyway to be honest. De - I'll see you when I get back, but we're ready to drop everything and come back if Jasper makes an appearance. xxx
dewilliams42
so glad it was'nt jasper anthea.wonder who the poor little soul was-someone must be looking for him/her and wonder who put the blanket there? hope you get some leads from your new blitz of posters. keeping my fingers crossed x
AntheaB
No, it isn't Jasper. Thank you to Beanie for all your help. It's hard to tell as decay has set in and the teeth are exposed, but this little mites face looks to be quite short. He/she looks more like a terrier x with Lhasa Apso, but as I say it's hard to tell. Its very sad. Tucker's family were very brave and kind - they tucked the little thing out of harms way but although they wanted to bury him, felt they couldn't in case someone needs to identify him/her. I think the photos will be sent to admin. Admin - do you want me to share the photos on Jasper's facebook page on the offchance someone recognises him? Can't say I'm comfortable with doing that, only because I don't want to upset or offend anyone. Plse let me know what you think is best. X
Scrappy2010
Really pray to God that this is not Jasper. x
AntheaB
Beanie - many thanks for letting us know. Plse don't be reluctant - anyone here - as any news is valuable in our search. Oddly enough Jasper had very good teeth, considering his poor state of health otherwise, but we can't rule out the possiblity that it is him. If he's been there for a while it could have had an effect on the appearance of his teeth I'm told. I'm afraid to say that everything else is consistent with Jasper - mainly white, back leg problem, undocked tail. Its very painful for me to ask you this, but do you have any other information please so that we can check for ourselves.
Beanie245
Not sure if this is of any relevance to your search for Jasper but in the search for our lost terrier X Tucker we have today (17/6/11)received a call telling us of a dogs body that had been spotted at Brampton Valley railway line near Draughton NN6 area.. Although not our dog we did find the little terrier dogs body hidden under a small covert which had obviously been dead for a while but we were able to ascertain that the dog was a rough coated terrier with an un docked tail mostly white, he had a black vet wrap bandage on his right leg, his teeth would suggest he is older rather than a young dog.. it would appear that he had been placed there as he was covered with a brown imitation fleece dog blanket.... I was reluctant to bring this to your attention as hopefully like Tucker Jasper is still making his way home and wish you good luck in your search... however If you would like any more information please get in touch... Beanie245
AntheaB

Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine today. I hope it brings some news
AntheaB
It definitely is heartwarming. I've been so taken aback by all the offers of help and support. It's been amazing. Have a lovely holiday mon - hoping for good weather if its the UK. WOuld be great to think I could post little man as REUNITED (with us of course) by the time you get back. Won't ever give up x
mon
just checking in on the little man, still no sign but lets not give up - I am on holday from 4th June but will be straight back online to see if any news, its heart warming that so many people are plugging for Jasper, wish there was more I could do Anthea, good luck Mon
AntheaB
Thank you for the info. It was a bit vague but found it in the end (www.animalsearchuk.co.uk) and have emailed them. Please could I ask anyone in future to give full details (i.e. website address) if they know it in future and any other information. I saw this message and was fingers and thumbs trying to search, looking for the correct website. I really am desperate to get Jasper back and have thought of little else since he went. please be mindful of that when supplying information. Many thanks. x

DogLostRiverlady
Will put Jasper on twitter + circulate.
AntheaB
That is a really lovely offer, thank you, but at the moment it's just ongoing placing of ads and 'bumping' them into a prominent place, plus printer ink for posters, so no major expenses involved, but thank you so much for your kind offer. I'll keep posting any news. thank you again
mcbride
Hi, I have watching your plight, if I can help out financially with anything please let me know Tel 07866469804
AntheaB
Not yet mon - promise I will post any news straight away x
mon
just checking in to see if any update on our little man.
AntheaB
I agree with you Jo, but we are quite desperate. I have it on very good authority that Jasper was born in 2007, so he's had enough I think now, and anything we can do to help little man, we will do (within reason and within the law of course). He's been offered money already Jo - didn't bite. That's because we think he's known to the authorities for one reason or another. Explains why Jasper was afraid to bark. Don't worry though - if you're on Facebook I'll send you a private message explaining.
jobadger
Hiya - Just touching ground to see if any news. :( I hope something comes through soon.
If any offer is made for Jasper re. the man who reclaimed him I do feel that this is opening a way for people like him to abuse and use animals. I feel it's almost like agreeing to be blackmailed into paying to get Jasper back. I'm not sure that what I meant has come across in that comment - but I hope you know what I mean to say. xx
AntheaB
Hi Sue - many thanks. This isn't Jasper though, too young and wrong colour, but thank you for putting him my way because I've had a word with the advertiser (diplomatically!) about the dangers of advertising puppies (he's only 7 mths) on those sites, and hopefully gave them something to prick their conscience, though I doubt it judging by other ads on there. She came back and said she's selling the dog for someone else. True or not I passed some numbers to her for rescues in her area and also told her to look here in case someone's looking for him. It's not clear whether they know who he belongs to or not. So if they are decent people they might contact you. Meantime, I've stepped up my (I should say 'our' for the whole family) campaign and I'm building a quick website dedicated to Jasper. Also doing loads more leaflet dropping, etc. Thanks again Sue.
B30
Anthea, someone has contacted us as they've noticed a similar dog for sale. Please check out this dog on Preloved http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.showadvert/index-1033916517/4719529b.htmlLast edited: 2011-05-24 07:06:46 by B30

Hi Snowdrop - thanks so much. I think I've done most things, but I'm still adding to them every day. Won't give up! Promise I'll ask if I need anything. xxx
Snowdrop
Hi AntheaB checking every day and hoping for good news. If you think of anything i can do to help let me know xxx
AntheaB
Hi Mon - thank you for still being there, watching, as I'm sure many people are. I changed the blurb here slightly because I wanted to appeal to whoever has little man. I think that, even if this person was lying to the RSPCA at the time, Jasper may well be somewhere else now. I hesitate to put a bounty on Jasper's head, lest I should attract too many time-wasters, but if the person who has Jasper is reading this, we will offer a substantial cash reward for his return. No questions asked - just sign him over, PLEASE.
mon
dont let Jasper slip off the front page, can we bump him up to the first page again, I think this story has all our hearts torn out. Maybe if we offer to buy Jasper back and approach the man who reclaimed him with this offer - any ideas
Goldenfrodo
Not very good at facebook but will go on and ask to become a friend of Jasper.

Will crosspost to RHU forum as they have a large membership. Hope you have some luck in tracing this little boy. xx
AntheaB
Mrs B - thank you so much for that and Jasper has now accepted your invitation!

Ellie - thank you. Even though I think this little fella doesn't see the light of day,I've done the same thing because there's still the chance that travellers may have him and he could escape, so someone might see him. With that in mind, a coordinator here has notified the Traveller Liaison Office. I;m amazed and humbled at the amount of effort and support you are offering.

June - Yes, he was (perhaps still is) in Maidencastle, Blackthorn, close to the Blackthorn shops. Not sure if you know it, but please don't go out when it gets too late! I honestly don't think Jasper was even allowed out in this communal garden the flats have. There's no direct access to a garden from these flats, but that's no excuse. We monitored that address from the main road (back of flats backs on to Cherry Lodge Road) for a while after we gave Jasper back, and saw no activity at all at any time. We also know someone who lives at the front and back of those flats who, every now and then, do a bit of curtain-twitching! But they haven't seen any dogs coming from those properties either. It's been reported to the Housing Warden for that area as it's unlikely the council know dogs are being kept there, and chances are we're right in assuming there's breeding going on there, so the council most certainly won't know about that. Can't even think about the implications of puppies everywhere. My head feels like cotton wool as it is!

Please everyone - if you have a Facebook account, Jasper Littleman would love to add you to his friends.
Anthea xx
Ellie
I have emailed poster to a friend in NN10 and asked her to keep an eye and ear out for Jasper and spread the word at her training and agility clubs.
June
AntheaB. I'm in NN3 and of course looking out for Jasper. Is there anywhere it might be good to walk my dogs if you know what I mean. Not a lot of spare time this week as doing transport runs too. It might be better to do a PM
CarolynB
Anthea, you are working so hard for this wee man. I'm too far away to be of any great help, but I know a good few people up here in Scotland who are thinking of you and supporting you all the way. I really do have a feeling that your hard work will pay off and you will get the result that both you and Jasper deserve. I have just sent a request on Facebook on "Jasper Littleman's" page. I will spread the word with others as well. Best of luck - you have our full support x
AntheaB
Hi Jo - yes, I will do that. There's a shopping centre with a large car park close to where this person lives and I think I'll target that, because pretty much everyone goes shopping on Saturday morning. Also going round to the vets - seems most of them open on Saturdays all day now. Sign of the times I guess! Also we've got some boot sales, so I'll be up at the crack of dawn and do some leaflet posting there too.
jobadger
Hi Andrea - is there a local weekly market, or even a large car park, where the cars can be postered?
You could run smaller ones off from Jasper's main poster - they would then get around the area. xx
AntheaB
There's another great idea! Many thanks for that. I don't go out to pubs myself but there is a little pub just over the road. I must be having a brain freeze or something, I should have thought of that before. thanks for that jobadger.
AntheaB
mandym! you gave me a great idea. I've just created Jasper's own account, just look up 'jasper littleman' and it should come up. So far I've only added two people (I'm not a Facebook user so don't really have a clue), but the idea is to flush this person out of hiding. As you say Julie, I feel he must be there too and the more I do locally to make life uncomfortable for him the better I think. Up until this point I was afraid to do anything in case I forced him into dumping Jasper and putting him in danger, but I can't be a shrinking violet forever, so I'm going in for the duration, whatever it takes. I think I'll give the RSPCA a call again on Monday. Don't forget everyone, if you're on facebook, add Jasper Littleman as a friend - you can't miss him, he's the one with the furry radar ears and cold wet nose! XX
jobadger
Anyone able to poster round the local pubs? It's there where people chat and gossip. He will be seen somewhere - you know the address - I would certainly suggest watching the to-ings and fro-ings.
Can't get his little face out of my mind - I can't imagine what you're going through. xxLast edited: 2011-05-20 22:45:29 by jobadger

I am glad that you are staying positive Anthea. We owe it to this little fella. I am too far away to help out as such - but can be supportive and help out from a distance in anyway you can think of. Just a thought - but if they had a staffie - I feel even more sure that Jasper is there with them as why would they have claimed him just to sell him on. If they didnt want him back to keep they would have just kept quiet and he would have still been with you now. If only he could be seen to be at the house then I am sure the RSPCA would go back in and check things out. Jasper must be terrified of them if he is frightened to bark and we owe it to him to help him out. I have a good feeling about this and feel you might be needing that extra dog bed again. Stay strong. Julie x Last edited: 2011-05-20 22:00:51 by Julie B

Shared on my facebook, you never know, someone might recognise him....
AntheaB
Julie - I agree totally, that Jasper, if okay, is still with this person or at least still in the area (I really hope so). I've had a chat with Sue here and someone at a rescue centre, and we're all agreed that it looks as though this person could be using Jasper purely for breeding. This person also had a staffie bitch - actually a lovely girl, nice temperament, but VERY healthy looking, well fed and all that. Meanwhile, little man Jasper is skin and bones and afraid to bark. I've just done a separate poster/letter to the PDSA and modified it slightly for the private vets here. Not waiting on Royal Mail - I'm hand delivering most of the tomorrow!I have to tell you all that without all your kind thoughts, comments and advice, I might not be quite so motivated. It's down to you all and Sue and Jayne at head office that I feel able to keep my spirits up, still going like a bull in a china shop! I couldn't sleep last night, planning what I was going to do, and woke up with a blinding headache this morning, and I just know I'll be sitting here typing stuff up until midnight! Anthea X
Julie B
Like jobadger says - maybe contact the vets in the area. Are you able to watch the house from a distance to see if Jasper comes out at all - or maybe speak to a neighbour to see if Jasper has been seen out in the garden ? Did the RSPCA actually go into the house and look ? If not Jasper could still be there and them just find it easier to say they had sold him on. I wouldnt have thought a vet would just put an animal to sleep without asking lots of questions and even less likely to do so if the animal was healthy .... I like to think I am right there - if not I would be very upset. I think Jasper is still local and we need to be positive ..... we will find him whataever it takes - bless him he certainly deserves it ! Julie x
AntheaB
Just doing that now Jo. I'm doing a special poster for the PDSA because I think it's likely they'll use them rather than a private vet, but I'll also target all the others as well.

Mon - thank you for that - it's much appreciated.
jobadger
Have you been in touch with all of the local vets again Anthea? just a thought - there may be someone out there who knows of his whereabouts.
mon
hang on in there, we are all behind you, wish I were nearer to help. The little chap is worth it.
AntheaB
Snowdrop thank you so very much. I think the electric toothbrush was dewilliams, bless her, and she so misses Mylo. I've put Jasper's photo around all the rescues I can find in Northants and Sue has made some great suggestions, so I'll be cracking on with that. My poor family - I've completely ignored them lately just doing 'Jasper' stuff!
Snowdrop
AntheaB, ive been following Jaspers story and simply cant believe it! I think it was the electric tooth brush that made me notice!!, you sound like a wonderful person. Ive passed this on to dog owners in Leicester to watch out for a dog of jaspers description sold or for sale. we are not too far away for this to be impossible. good luck xxx
AntheaB
Thank you Sue for all your help. And thank you the lovely jobadger, If2000 and CarolineMurphy for all your support. I've just mentioned to Sue that something has just twigged - he could be breeding from Jasper. Would explain everything really. I'll get to the bottom of this and, if not, I know some people who can. Not throwing the towel in yet! xxxLast edited: 2011-05-20 13:41:33 by AntheaB
