- Tim/Pauline,
Lovely to hear from you. Suzannah had mentioned that there was another couple there when Tara was found. Thank you so much for finding Tara, we really are so lucky that she was found. I hadn't realized the detective work that had gone on to get in touch with us. I thought that the hotel had known who to contact from our poster.
We took Tara to the vet just to make sure that she was OK, she is absolutely fine though considering what she had gone through. She was given some worming tablets, and antibiotics just in case, and she was covered in ticks but we have now gotten rid of them.
It is just a case now of building her back up to her previous weight.
I think that she is now over her ordeal, the first couple of nights she was having nightmares, and found it difficult to completely relax, she was always on edge. However now, she is back to her mischievous self and causing havoc.
Once again, thank you so much for finding Tara, and managing to coax her to you. I would love to see a picture, I will email admin and ask then to forward my email address to you rather than posting it publicly.

- Just back from a holiday in Scotland walking the West Highland Way. We found Tara! After seeing numerous posters on the way, we could not believe our eyes when walking along the path between Rowardennan and Inversnaid we turned a corner and there she was all alone on the path, 20 yards ahead. We recognised her immediately from the poster and so called her name. She looked a little unsure but we enticed her with shortbread biscuits. At that point a German lady who was walking on her own - Suzannah came up behind us and also recognised Tara. She got out her German sausage all the way from Berlin and we broke off pieces to give to Tara. She did look so thin. Soon she came near enough to hold her collar and Suzannah provided a luggage strap which we used as a lead. We walked her to Inversnaid hoping to see a poster and phone you but just when we wanted to see one, there were none! Fortunately, there was a minibus with a group of young people and one of those in charge said he knew a ranger and could phone him. This he did and left a message for the ranger to call him back. Suzannah was staying in Inversnaid so we left her holding Tara to wait for the ranger whilst we continued our walk to Inverarnan. She was such a lovely dog and we were thrilled to have found her. I did ask at the hotel as to whether they had heard of any lost dogs but was told they had not heard anything. So pleased she is back home safely. I expect she has acquired quite a taste for German sausage - there was a tear in Suzannah's eye when the sausage was devoured!! If you send me your email, I will send you a picture! Kind regards. Tim and Pauline

- Tara is home now. I got a phone call from staff at the Inversnaid hotel today at around 2.30pm to tell us she had been found on the West Highland way between Rowardennan and Inversnaid by walkers. Tara is exhausted, and has lost an awful lot of weight but does seem to be ok.
Strangely, we had only handed in a poster to the Inversnaid hotel last night, when we thought we would try that side of Loch Lomond. We walked along that stretch of the West Highland way shouting for Tara. Maybe our shouts were what brought her off of the mountain, we will never know. We were just so lucky that Tara was found by a lovely German family today who had seen her poster at Rowardennan. Tara is a very famous little doggy with the walkers!
