- YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS ! Trace67 and myself took Del and Ozzy for a walk, to put the episode behind us all. Del had 2 leads on, one normal and a long lead. Trace removed the lead and Del ran and tugged the long lead out her hand ! Del bolted again ! Trace called Malc the owner and we searched for half an hour on Millenium Green and surrounding area, Blakedown. No sign , so informed everyone we met and local stable owner. Walked back to Del's home with Malc and she was waiting by the front door. Trace and I won't walk her anymore !!!! I had visions of another 5 days of no sleep and traipsing the countryside.

- Ben: set up food, my noose bottom of Hagley Wood Lane and long line and told everyone to keep away. Moaned as they came to me as I saw Del in the field. She couldn't get through the fence by the food. She smelled it half way across the field ! She saw me and the horses came and chased her off. I hid but asked Malcolm the owner to back his car up and I would sit in the car for cover. She came twice and couldn't get through the fence. Malcolm got out 10 minutes later to break the fence, but she was there and he called her. She went to run and he whistled and called and she did a double take and came to him. He grabbed her through the fence and I climbed over and attached the lead and picked her up and gave her to him. NO ONE LET GO ! Took her to the car and made sure she couldn't get away. We both blubbed ! Thanks everyone. Now we move to looking for the DY10 dog on the site.

- Just to clarify a couple of points: Owners are now back and have been out looking for her as well and Animal House have also been out and supplied a trap which is now placed by some empty farm buildings and last night they had a BBQ,to try and entice her out. We feel she is getting food from the camp site but Tracey has also been placing food down prior to trap been supplied. She is very dirty and probably cold but is also very scared. Not sure if she will go to owner but who nows, at least we know the area she is covering
- 2011-06-06 10:10 Unknown
- Glad there has been sightings - hoping she is caught soon. Liz xx

- As she will bite, I think its time to warn members of the public not to try and capture her!! The caravan park seems the obvious place - as food would be plentiful with half term! Could be very quiet now, so may move on. Where exactly is she taking food? Seems obvious to me to stop chasing around after her and wait in one location, as she's just using this as a game. She'll soon get bored and return to food. Hope this helps
Also just been informed that http://www.theanimalhouserescue.co.uk/index.htm help out with nervous captures and they are based under 4 miles away. Trace is this worth a try? Lyn is the contact. Good Luck!Last edited: 2011-06-06 09:41:27 by MHale - 2011-06-06 08:21 Spindle
- Sounds likes she is just running around scared. Running on adrenelin. Is owner back home soon, as soon as they are scenting in that field and sitting quietly may draw her out.
- 2011-06-06 07:54 B30
- Might be worth a try then, cover with branches, foliage etc to make it look like a 'natural' little place to go inside.
- 2011-06-06 07:40 Trace67
- No Sue it wasnt camouflaged yesterday, the girls will be setting it back up later today.
- 2011-06-06 06:52 B30
- Tracy have you camouflaged the trap? Often dogs are more likely to go in them if they don't look ike a cage.
Disappointing that she didn't take the food in the night but probably she was at one of her other locations. Or maybe she wasn't that hungry and just resting. - 2011-06-06 05:37 Trace67
- My self and Ben went out at 4am good drive round saw nothing and the chicken that was left last night hasnt been touched. My brother took over at 5am.
Gonna get some sleep. Trace x - 2011-06-06 00:40 Trace67
- Well what a day!
She was seen this morning in Farley lane, she ran into a wheat field some girls that have been keeping a look out for her cornered her into there, got into this huge field and couldnt see her. Then she ran straight past my daughter right in front of here real close gave her a sly look and carried on running!
Didnt see her after that so decided to come home and wait for her owners. When back up Farley road when they arrived and was joined by Lyn and the team of The Animal House Rescue, with there vans and dog trap.
Had a ride round couldnt see anything, so we decided to come to mine.Just about to turn into our street and Lyn rings saying she was following Del up neat Clent hills caravan park, where a few ladys had cornered and one had actually grabbed here where Del nippped her she let her go grr.
She then ran up through the caravan park and back up to the lay-by near the wheat field where Lizzy saw her.
Decided to put the dog trap in the derelict buildings opposite. Which was left there till around 11.30.
Lyns setting the trap up again after 1pm.
some of us are gonna go out at around 5am in the morning.
Lyn and the Girls from The Animal House Rescue are amazing!
Thanks too to Lizzy xxx - 2011-06-05 20:49 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- You are all doing SO well!! Keep going, you nearly had her! What a team you are out there! You deserve medals! I think it is right that the owners now know - they would probably have been more upset if they didn't. They will see how hard you are trying, Tracey. And, hopefully you will have her by then, if not they can certainly help as she may go straight to them. You never know. Good luck team! x
- 2011-06-05 19:35 Unknown
- Well, I've actually seen her (little madam) went to clent but no sigh so went to place she was seen by Tracey and there she was eating grass on the verge, saw me and bolted down the road into a garden but ran out before she could be caught, owner and Tracey and a rescue turned up with a trap which is set up now but she has now been seen back at clent. Praying she is caught soon. Liz xx
- 2011-06-05 15:25 CarolineMurphy
- Hello Trace, so sorry to see that Del hasn't been caught yet. Can second what Lizzy is saying. we had the same issue with a greyhound in the area and managed to catch him coming back to the area he was lost after he had gone a few miles in a circle. Best of luck to you and Del's owners xxx

- They do move on and form whats known as a triangle. I was really hoping she would stay where she was and as you say Malcolm would come and she would go to him but hopefully she will slow down again soon and stick to an area again and we get more sightings and go from there. I feel so sorry you have had little sleep, unfortunately these things can take quite a while, especially as she is quite timid. See how things pan out today. Liz xx
- 2011-06-05 13:23 Trace67
- Owners were informed this morning, as suggested by Bromsgrove police as today is the last day of their camping holiday. Police and ourselves thought they did not need any worry to spoil their holiday. Sadly Del has moved farther afield and she may have come to Malcolm (owner) easier in the Clent area than now !
- 2011-06-05 13:19 Trace67
- 100% her in Farley Lane, Romsley. She was held up in a wheat field the back of the Manchester public house going up the hill. My daughetr Sam flushed her out and Del just ran past looked at Sam and carried on with no intention of stopping. Sam was shouting get down, etc to no avail. She came out on Farley Lane opposite a derelict house and out buildings. I went over onto the private land and checked the out buildings and she was not there. We drove up and down a few times, with no other sighting. Still has harness and collar intact, she looks a bit dirty. We came back as we are shattered after little sleep. Can someone update Del's poster please with last known location, so I can print off and put up in the area later this evening ? Thanks. Local resident friend and 2 animal rescue workers are going to the area now to look for her.

- 2011-06-05 09:31 Unknown
- You are doing a fab job, I can understand how frustrating it must be to be so close and then she just walks off, hopefully today will be the day, fingers crossed. Liz xx
- 2011-06-05 08:46 Trace67
- Went back up at 3.30 and there were people still there in cars?! what do that do at that time of the morning?
The food hadnt been eaten so set the noose trap back up and waited till almost 5.30 didnt see her.
I went to bed couldnt keep my eyes open.
Not sure quite sure whats happening now, Phones been going mad someone saw a dog in one of the lanes nearby, Ben has gone back up with our neighbour our youngest daughter and the other dog. Just heard form Sam and it wasnt Del it was a Dalmation thats got loose.
Dels mommy and Daddy have been told and they are happy to let us deal with it at until they get back this afternoon.
Feel a bit frustrated as cant get up there now (my neighbour had told me to stay at home).
Will update you with any news.

- Thats right Teddys mum, its proven to be successful. Suggest smelly fish such as pilchards , Im so hoping today will be the day Del allows herself to be caught. Good luck for today Tracey and Ben.

- Try laying down and whimpering, dogs never fail to come and investigate, have some nice smelly food in your hand, avoid eye contact and she will approach. Have a slip lead over your arm. Good luck, I am sure you will have her home very soon.
- 2011-06-05 01:22 Trace67
- She had eaten the food when we got back. Set the noose back up and more food and waited, saw something behind the fence for a little while.
Then some lads came up in two cars and parked right by the entrance grr So after a while we came away. No sign of her at the bottom.
Theres some right wierd people up at the entrance to that car park in the early hour.
She had been really close to Ben tonight.
Gonna go back up about 3.30ish

- Tracey, you are doing well, and you can do this. Take your time and do it carefully - you are the one that knows her, so you are the best one to work out the plan to catch her, carefully. We are all rooting for you. The drivers will get fed up and go off and you will still be there. You can get her home. x

She came out and sniffed the guys dogs then ran off when she saw him. - 2011-06-04 10:39 Trace67
- The trap is coming for a rescue centre, gonna ring them in a bit.
Just needed to recharge our battery's only had about 3 hours sleep all together :)
Thanks Lizzy x - 2011-06-04 10:18 Unknown
- When you have the trap come back on and I will give you some advice - not sure if you will need permission off the land owner when you decide where you want to place it and then maybe cover it over so it feels like a den and don't put food outside as she will eat that and then leave - you need lovely smell food inside it like tripe (green) is the best and maybe hang food down from above. Maybe it may be best to wait until her dad comes home tomorrow and then entice her as said with a BBQ (small tray one) and see if she will go to him. Liz xxLast edited: 2011-06-04 10:19:12

- Just to update everyone. Three people have seen her on the top of Clent Hills this morning. We didnt see here when we got there but spoke to the people who had rang earlier.
Had a walk round and shes prob in hiding. The other food that we left out for her when we left at about 4.30 has been eaten.
Think the best plan of action is to wait for tonight like Lizzy suggested. Ringing later about the dog trap and prob put it where she knows is food.
Will keep everyone posted. Trace x
Also spoke to the sheep farmers wife, there gonna keep a look out for her, we told her that she understands sheep dog commands.Last edited: 2011-06-04 10:19:36 by Trace67 - 2011-06-04 09:35 Unknown
- Hi Tracey, glad you have seen her, she may go into hiding today as it gets busier up there, so night time is the best time to try and get her, I think she is just frightened but is too scared to give herself up. A trap is a good idea but she may not go in straight away and it needs to be somewhere where she feels safe. Liz xx

- Got back to the area where we last saw her at 3.40am played ball with Ozzy in the field where we think she is hiding for a good half hour. No sign of her. Drove up Hagley Wood Road to the top and back down.
Think shes gone hiding for the day?
Sorting out a dog trap later today. - 2011-06-04 01:58 Trace67
- When we got back at around 12.45am Del was eating the food we left, she ran off down Hagley wood road and onto the main road and round the corner, After a while she came back up then went back round the corner and must be into the field. We we stayed for about an hr then it was getting too cold and we hadnt taken coats.
Going back up about 4am with the other dog see if we can get her to play with him.
If not Have a friend of a friend who has a dog trap and she will set it up for us and wait till shes caught.
Gonna try and get an hour or so sleep. - 2011-06-04 00:22 Trace67
- Saw Del at the same place as Alex saw her last night, she ran down towards the main road and then into the paddock on the left hand side as you go up Hagley wood road.
Have put food out in the area and we are going back up staying there till it gets light if we can. - 2011-06-03 21:56 Trace67
- Liz i was worried about water too,saw theres a a stream that runs down Hagley wood road and saw lots of horse troff's ad even some big puddles so she should be ok that way.

- I was wondering about doing a BBQ eg a tray that you get from the supermarkets and some sausages late evening by the fields and enticing her out with that lovely smell. I wondered whether she might go back to the visitor centre today because of the food or not. Some dogs are more food intorriorated than others. Liz xx

- Ben and I have searched the private woods between Hagley Wood Lane and running along side the A456. Left posters with the flower salesman ( layby A456 ) and the stables in Hagley Wood Lane. If close enough to call try saying, " That'll do Del " and then sternly saying it.

- I will go in the morning but will start from the French Hen and walk towards the top. I have only been in the wooded area once and it was quite boggy!! but we could go in and poster in there as well if you could print some posters off for me, I will hand them out to people, we could try leaflets as they are smaller. Liz

- 2011-06-02 22:13 safneo

- 2011-06-02 20:17 Mollychops
- Del went missing whilst staying with owners sister, and does not know the area. She bolted on a walk in and She was seen very near a short while later. All local dog wardens bar one have been contacted, I ve suggested all local farmers too. Have sent her poster too and a list of local rescues in the west Mids area. The important thing is postering ,I will email out general advice and scenting instructions too. Thanks Lizzy for helping x Last edited: 2011-06-02 20:41:45 by Mollychops

- Hi there, I spoke to you earlier today when she went missing, did you try down by the sheep? I had the cocker and the yellow lab. I did mention to you about postering by the entrances so people can keep a look out for her. I will try and pop up again later on if not in the morning. Liz xxLast edited: 2011-06-02 17:37:42
