Lovely to see this beautiful girl back home.Praps a follow up call to the vet in order? So much worry could have been saved had finders phoned authorities. Welcome back.
MHale

Roz
Must have passed you several times too LOL!!! Good result!!!!!
Bennyboy
Glad she is found. We did the park/grassed area in Red Lake Drive, around there, Walker Avenue, Wychbury, Murcroft, Dobbins Oak, Old Pedmore Lane and Wassell Grove and Wollescote Park area. Saw a red Citreon/Peugeout people carrier also looking in Red Lake Drive area. Hopefully they have seen the site and now stopped ? We can rest again now until thye next one !
Roz
Just got back in from looking for her all round that area including Nimmings just in case, and taking down the posters that Pepsi's people had put up in case they detracted from the interest as she was found a week or so ago.
Hadnt got Floppit's wonderful text, as my bloomin inbox was full. So I'm sitting reading here text whilst reading this too! Sooooooooooooo pleased and relieved!!! Congratulations!!! Cant stop smiling!!! Large can of lager now then!!! And yes that phone call by someone to the vets had been gnawing away at me too!Last edited: 2011-06-15 22:45:48 by Roz

To be honest I did suspect that someone had her and that they were the ones who spoke to the vets originally, so pleased she is back. All the best Liz xx

The sighting was a definite lead in that it put us in the right direction, we postered that specific area and GOT A RESULT. We had
a phone call from someone who has had her since friday along with their other collies and looked after her until an owner came forward. They said they didn't want to call the warden in case she got put down.
She couldn't have found a better family to look after her, we've had the stress, she's had the fun!Apparently they took her to Powys & partners vets to see if she was chippied! We have phoned that vet twice! not pleased!
Thanks to everyone who has helped, given us so much advice and showed so much concern,it was the poster campaign finally got the right result, we couldn't have done it without you. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. We will gladly help anyone in a similar predicament. A HAPPY ENDING

Sorry, but I've got a bit confused there. From the excitement I take it there is a definite sighting and you are on your way. Please let me know, I can't stand not knowing! xxx
floppit
This is Mrs Floppit. I just want to say that all of you are FANTASTIC. We are just heading to Wollescote with her Mum who is missing her terribly. Thank you all :-) xx
Trace67
Will go out after tea in my area, have a look at the 2 parks. Will Print of a poster and put it up near the shops in the Queens way.
Roz
My OH will be going to Wollescote tomorrow so will look carefully and leave a poster at his uncle's house.

If she were to head east there's Broadmarsh Kennels, Hagley golf/Country club, a rugby club and do they still hold carboot sales at Wassell Grove? Further in that direction and she would be headed towards the A456 and the Clent Hills ('Del country'! see 30138) and Tracey is definitely your expert there!! But she's more likely to stay close to housing and bins perhaps. At least she's away from the railway line at the mo. Hopefully she's safe with someone and you'll get a call very soon.
I'll try to get up that way tonight and have a look round too. I have her posters all over my car!!! Wave if you see me LOL!Last edited: 2011-06-15 18:21:20 by Roz
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
collies and labradors are the first dogs to be picked up...bear in mind she may have been picked up by someone in a car and moved...have you let surrounding dog wardens know...
floppit
Thanks for all the advice Kimmybear, we'll follow that through. All Vets, schools and garden centres within 20 miles also have been emailed with the poster etc.
The sighting was about an hour after she disappeared and was heading towards Wollescote which confirms a previous possibility at 5 oclock on Friday evening in Walker Avenue, near Wollescote Park! We'll be busy there tonight. Thanks Trace67 you may be in the right area. It seems that although she could still be anywhere that someone may have picked her up on Friday and is caring for her, that would be good, BUT WE DESPERATELY WANT HER BACK. Thanks again for everyone's concern & help.

I have seen the railways mentioned a couple of times. Have you checked with Network Rail? If not call them; see if any sightings of a dog on the lines or running by? The drivers should log a report but they don't always. If no report, and I know this is horrible but you need to rule it out, make the railway workers walk the lines for you in that area, just so you can have peace of mind. I would suspect she is probably in still in the area somewhere. Dogs usually do a circuit and end up back where they started at some point and collies are VERY clever. Have you checked with Highways Agencies and Water Companies out there? Worth doing that too. She may have been taken home by someone thinking she is a stray. If so, you need to make her too hot to handle - keep up the publiicty any way you can. We are all rooting for you and lovely Pippa. x
floppit
Thanks MHale, Yes no sightings is a real problem.
Shes a very friendly dog, very approachable and has a collie dog obsession with balls. Our search is very wide now thanks to all of our friends and helpers, she is posted nationwide through the NFU and most West Mids farms through friends, Malvern show will be covered. Would really love some news now. Thanks again
MHale
Yes it is worcs lane. Your doing great, evening work may be useful. Speak to 'Trace67' as she done some excellent evening work with her lost dog, just the other day - but there were confirmed sightings so a little easier. What is she like with strangers? Check out local dog shows - someone may try using her for money if she's shown talent?!!
floppit
Thanks Bennyboy, I know what you mean, with us anything that moves in black/white gets us excited, cats, magpies even! No sightings, no news, getting very despondent now, she must be either with someone, living rough or ?????.We are spreading the net wider because she really could be miles & miles away. Thanks again to everyone.
Bennyboy
Checked some roads in that area on Monday evening around 9.30pm. Got exited ( thinking it was Pippa ) when I saw a big fox in Red Lake drive ! I will try again, but after dark. These skitish collie dogs seem to come out more at night, more so than during the day. Any sightings at all yet ?
floppit
B4187? is that Worcester Lane, yes and around most of the immediate area. We never need a lead on her she's never more than a throw of a ball away normally. She loves snuggles on the sofa in the evening, she is a lovely mix of rufty tufty sheepdog and loving pet!She is very fleet of foot and Hurcott across country would not take very long, so yes please posters everywhere and anywhere would be great.Thank you so much
MHale
B4187 - I assume you have already put posters up along there? I am scannng the map now, does she like water? Silly question right? If so along streams, canals poster away - especially in this heat / weather, people walk more and also the animals are plentiful around to which she'd be happy enough to share food and water with them. Does she tend to wander away from you much at home, or is she a shadow? Hurcott Pools and surrounding area. Springfield Park and along the canal - but this is in Kidderminster and quite a distance for her to travel - may not even be over this way. I will be going over there tonight, so I can always put posters up along there.

Kings Norton - other side of the railway there is a large pool of water or lake on a farm – probably not a bad idea to check that out, (if you haven’t already)

As you have a secret weapon if ‘Mum’ perhaps scent marking a safe spot by water and extra special food may be useful. Have you received an info sheet from one of dog lost’s helpers / co-ordinators?Last edited: 2011-06-14 10:27:59 by MHale

No she is 6 and is a working sheepdog, guess she got a bit bored at home, thanks for your concern, anything is very welcome now, we are in our 4th day.
MHale
Im sorry she's still missing. Is she a puppy? Will keep an eye out.
floppit
Thanks again Roz, I have tried most of those abd they all have our details, but yes I will try them every day, at the moment she seems to have just evaporated!
Roz
We've been out midday today on way to work, and tonight too, but no sign, altho did see lots of your posters. Covered the area from Kidder, through Hagley, Pedmore and earlier up to Wollescote.
Floppit it's worth you checking with each of the pounds in the area daily. Apparently some of the dogs picked up in the Dudley area can get taken to Stoke. I'm sure an Admin can put you right on this and give you the info but think it's Sunnyside at Wolverhampton, Swan Pit lane at Stafford, Birmingham Dogs Home at Digbeth, Barnes Hill somewhere in Brum, Dunclent in Kidderminster and of course Stoke.
Everything crossed we get a sighting which will help soooo much. Hugs for you and Pippa's mum.xLast edited: 2011-06-13 22:51:36 by Roz
floppit
Thanks Trace67, we've been all over Norton,Churchill, Ismere,Hagley & Wollescote tonight with more posters to try to spread the word in case someone knows someone who knows someone etc still no luck and waiting for someone to get lucky, thanks again
Trace67
Had a drive round the area and down through Hagley high street, no sign of her :(
floppit
yes it is Pippas mummy, they have always been together. We have things and there are only times when she seems really sad, sometimes shes very happy because she now gets the ball everytime instead of once in a blue moon-shes slightly disabled and Pippa is like greased lightning. Thank you again and we are more than willing to help others in the future
CarolineMurphy
Not at all, you can call yourself anything, I would just more than likely forget it if it wasn't my name hehe. Do you have anything that smells of Pippa that her Mummy could find comfort in? Assuming you mean a doggie! Xxx
floppit
Thanks Caroline, you are all being very helpful. We have Pippa's mother here too and she is getting sadder by the day!
Incidentally sorry about the tag name, I wasn't sure whether to keep names confidential so I just used a nickname, do I need to change it?
CarolineMurphy
Hey floppit, you're doing all of the right things, it was my partner who called you earlier to check you'd got an info sheet. Glad you've got that and hopefully there will be news on Pippa soon! And that the people who rang the vets call back and leave their number!! Easily forgotten xxx
floppit
hi rozbradbury, yes we walk over there a lot, she would know her way back from there.
hi teddys Mum-JW, it had just been thundering, but she had been working with sheep in Stratford area for 3 weeks and suspect she may have been bored at home, also she is very sensitive and thought she was in trouble for going through the recycling cans. She has done that before, but she NEVER gets punished or shouted at, she is a lovely little character but with a mind of her own.
Thanks Trace67, we really don't know ehich way she may have gone, last seen heading towards Hagley but????
Thanks CarolineMurphy, all of our family have done the same, we are hopefully getting quite a network.
Thanks Kimmybear,we think we have covered all the bases...hopefully.
One more thing to everyone, someone phoned a vet in Audnam,Stourbridge on Friday evening, saying that they had found a collie, unfortunately the receptionist didn't get a contact number, apparently they said they would contact the dog warden, but so far no joy.
thanks to all.

Got to go to Blakedown later this afternoon, will go your way today and have a look out for her.
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
Did something spook her or did she just escape and take herself off for a walk? Hope you find her soon.
Unknown
No I've not walked that way. I only ever drive over that way and that's when I go to Merry Hill or take son to Stourbridge College.
Roz
Have asked a friend who walks her dogs on Ounty John Lane to keep a look out. She's going there as soon as she gets back from Merry Hell but that's across the railway lines from you. Do you ever walk her across there? I'll try and get over myself tonight but have car probs.
floppit
thanks Liz, we are trying to spread the net as wide as we can,we'd be grateful if you could do that too.
Unknown
I am not too far away - other side of Hagley, I have a bit of a manic week but will help all I can. Liz xx
