So glad he was found. Have posted good news on Twitter. Surprised that the rescue you got him from hadn't chipped him when you adopted him.

Wonderful news. You're very lucky to have found him so far away.

We have found Ruben!

He had been taken to a shelter in the north of the county on Saturday, but because it was the weekend they were not able to make contact with the District Council Dog Warden until Monday morning.

Ruben is well, but was very shaken by his ordeal. He is deaf and almost blind and was very disorientated after he wandered off in the wrong direction. A very kind man found him on the main road and took him in. We are most grateful and from here on in, Ruben doesn't come off an extendable lead.

We got Ruben as a rescue 3 years ago, we should have microchipped him then I guess, but we feel he's too old now to microchip. Our other dogs are chipped.

Thanks to everyone's help: Dog Lost was superb!
