This girl is going to Bullies In Need/American Bulldog rescue, they are now amalgamated! We have made arrangements with the kennels to take over the care of her Saturday morning and she will be safe with a knowlegeable foster home.
AntheaB
Jo - I seem to be getting my wires crossed. I've got two other friends working on this and one has been in touch with American Bulldog Rescue who've secured a foster home with for this girl with someone who already has one of their own. When I posted a comment on Jasper's facebook page, it turns out the lady there is the same one my friends' been in touch with. All very confusing, but are you also the same lady Jo? I must be getting old, going round in circles here! But the whole point is, this lovely girl will be in very safe, experienced hands from now on. How fantastic is that? x
AntheaB
Jo - do you know who by? Lorraine got in touch with American Bull Dog rescue and they're willing to take her. They've already called the pound and waiting to hear back from the owner of the kennels, presumably to come to some arrangement. They think it best all round if someone who knows about this breed takes her rather than general rescue and they're working on finding either a foster carer to assess her or a permanent home as we speak.

Yeeeppppeeeeeeeeeee. You have just made my day Jo. x

Has any rescue come to this girls aid yet, anybody ?
jobadger
If she can get into a local rescue, then she'll have back up for foster care. It's gonna take some time to restore her faith - as well as sorting her physical and mental ailments. Has she been assessed whilst in the holding kennels? I've emailed a local rescue to see how the land lies with the suggestion of donations for her care. xxLast edited: 2011-06-29 22:22:47 by jobadger

hi all, I really wish I could take her, but I don't know how the others would react and I can't really afford to anyway to be honest. We've already got four rescues (was only supposed to have two, but you know how it is - always room for one more!!) I personally don't know anyone who could squeeze another dog of this breed and size into their lives, but there's no way I'd let this girl be pts, whatever happens. I've got a couple of possible foster carers in the pipeline. Have to get something sorted by friday if local rescues don't take her. x
doglady
Oh poor baby so sad how can they do this and live with them selfs. I do hope a rescue will take this girl and she finds a loving caring home. Will keep an eye on this to see if a rescue takes her the last thing should happen to her now is PTS if she is not helped.
Vizsla55
Poor little baby, just want to scoop her up in a blanket and give her the biggest hug ever! Hope she goes to a family and home who will give her all the cuddles and kisses she deserves. Sending huge love. xxx

Lets not have another Jasper here. Whoever owns this lovely dog should never have her back, she obviously has been mistreated, we should do as they do in America, handcuff them take them before the judge and send them to prison. Never to have animals again. Mon
dewilliams42
WHAT A CALLOUS WAY TO TREAT A DOG. NO WONDER THE POOR GIRL HAS SUCH A HAUNTED LOOK. SOMEONE IN AUTHORITY SHOULD PAY HIM A VISIT AND BAN HIM FROM KEEPING A DOG. I SO HOPE THIS LOVELY GIRL GETS THE BEST HOME EVER. ANTHEA SUELY YOU HAVE ROOM FOR A LITTLE ONE!!! X

Have an update on this girl. Facebook friend, Lorraine, lives in far cotton area of n'ton and thought she recognised this dog as one that was tied up outside, close the front of a property nr delapre crescent. She checked last night and the dog wasn't there, put 2+2 together and called pound for me today. A chap walking his dog (think she said near a railway line, but not sure) saw owner of this dog acting suspiciously and followed. The owner was about to tie this girl up and leave her. Chap with dog asked what he was doing and apparently got the reply 'I can't keep her, so leaving her here' or words to that effect. The chap basically said 'oh no you're not', and took this girl to the holding kennels in Northampton, where she is now. If she's the dog my friend remembers, she never spent any time indoors and she doesn't even remember seeing a kennel. Realise this might not be the one, but it would explain why the poor mite looks as though she's given up on life. Thx to Lorraine for the info. x

Keep getting drawn back to this girl. She looks like she has the worries of the world on her shoulders.
AntheaB
I agree Jo, and think this is another 'Jasper', where she's only been missing for a short time but neglected. If that's the case I hope nobody claims her. That face is haunting and there's just something about her. We don't have the room or the resources but I'll call the pound tomorrow, keep a check on her and if she's likely to be pts I'll take her in. But I'm sure the local rescues will see her when they visit the pound on one of their weeklies, so fingers crossed they'll pick her up. The only other thing that worries me is if someone shows an interest in her while she's at the pound. The track record for dogs being rehomed from pounds isn't great - they can end up anywhere, like Jasper did. Unless anyone else has news in the meantime, I'll let you know what I find out. x
jobadger
If she still had her harness and lead attached, surely she can't have been wandering long enough to get into this state. She's not dirty or dishevelled. Her eyes and body language say it all. Surely anyone reclaiming her must be asked questions?

Poor baby girl.I do hope she finds someone to give her all the TLC she deserves.Sending her love and huggs xxxx
dewilliams42
she is lovely but so sad looking-wonder what she has been through poor girl.
DogLostAngus
she was very thin and looked very sad and 'hollow' - poor little girl was just laying there not interested in anything - I managed to get her to sit up but that's about all - the poo she did while I was there is tiny so guessing she has been roaming for a while or is in need of some good food and tlc
buffysmum
Is it me or is this dog incredibly thin! What a sad face.
