Wonderful news. Che has been caught this morning at last. She wandered into the pack of dogs who were out being exercised this morning in the area she was staying in. Thank you so much to all, for the help in trying to catch CHE - particularly staff of Langdyke kennels.

Hi Sable, Not sure if have tried this rescue for the lend of a big trap ??
http://www.german-shepherd-rescue-scotland.org.uk/
I hope lovely Che is home safe very soon.
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
If any of you see her before the trap arrives, try laying down and whimpering, avoid eye contact and have some food in your hand. Dogs are very inquisitive and the whimpering draws them close. She is such a beauty, hope you get her soon.
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
It is doubtful that she will go to anyone now including yourself unless she becomes very weak and has lost the will to go on. However - I MAY have tracked down a trap. Sylvia from Langdyke kennels, who has been very helpful, is following this up. IMO this is the best chance we have of catching her now.
BUT - just in case this falls through - we are still looking for a LARGE trap. Last edited: 2011-07-11 18:21:19 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

Thanks sable! The only thing keeping me sane is knowing that brilliant family, friends and helpers are out there sunrise to sunset trying everything to find her. She is a beautiful girl but unfortunately will be very scared right now. I hope she is getting the food left for her and continues to stay within a safe area. Im still holding out hope she will go to jim/christine or rosemarie as these are the only 3 people she knows.....its just finding her thats the problem! Thank you to anybody who is still picking up the phone with any sightings!! All help is greatly appreciated!!

HAS ANYONE GOT A TRAP BIG ENOUGH TO CATCH THIS GIRL ? We need a trap PRONTO!

More sighting in the same place.

Can't wait until you are home ches mum, and out there looking for your gorgeous girl. This must be torture for you, but at least she is staying within her territory, and if food is left out and she is taking it, she will hopefully stay there until you come home and can get out there yourself to look for her.
ches mum
Hi this is che's mum. Che ran off on the day we went on holiday. we return home on saturday and i have managed to get acces to this site in the meantime, which i am now checking every few hours. needless to say i have spent my holiday hardly eating or sleeping. Che is a much much much loved girl and i have spent every second here praying to hear any shred of good news. I have two children who will also be extemely upset to return from their first ever holiday to find che not at home. I cant put into words how worried i am and each night is unbearable thinking she is out there on her own. Che will be missing her family and through fear will not approach any stanger. If anybody does come across her if they turned their back to her and completely ignored her there may be a chance she will come to you to sniff you. if you continue to ignore her she may even well relax. I am eager to get home to try and find her. I would like to say a massive massive THANK YOU to all the kind people who have given up lots of their own time to look for che, this includes family, friends, locals and helpers! I cant thank everybody enough for all they have been doing. PLEASE PLEASE keep coming forward with any sightings at all! Every little helps! I adore my beautiful girl and i know she is just scared and looking for her family who love her to bits!!!

Have changed her profile to say she is tagged. Details were very sketchy in the beginning with owner being absent. Hope you can pin her to one area now and get a trap from the warden who will likely want to set it up for you. Looks like she is staying in the territory she has made for herself.Last edited: 2011-07-11 09:11:16 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Che
Hi, It's Jim again. Che was seen at Clatto Barns on Sunday 10th at around 7.30am by the occupants there. Food left in various locations has gone, but obviously there is no guarantee that Che ate it. She is still running away from strangers but as no family member or anyone that she knows has so far seen her, we are still hopeful that if we are lucky enough to spot her, that she wont run away from us! On recommendation from Sable, it is our intention to secure the 'trap' from the dog warden tomorrow and set it up at Clatto Barns. Any other advice? Also, it states in Che's profile that she isn't tagged, but infact she is!Last edited: 2011-07-13 08:59:59 by Che

No sightings today so far.

Bound to be losing weight. Is she not eating the food left out for her?
Jareds mum
The call for the sighting at Baintown was not a hoax. Che is still running in the area about 2 mile square area. Che is loosing weight at the last sighting.
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Thanks for update Jareds mum. Even better news if she is staying in the area.
Jareds mum
I am sorry to say but I think the call about the Bonnybnk sighting was a hoax. Che was seen in the same area she has been for the last 2 days and my staffmember got to within 100mt of her this morning. She is staying in the same half circle of where she ran from.
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Jim, they "usually" stay within a rough triangle area, so if you look at the map, from where she went misssing, where there have been sightings and where she is now, she is likely to stay within there.
Leona*
Can you leave some of her bedding near where she was sighted or something familiar to her that smells of home, this may keep her in the area (even the contents of a hoover bag). I believe the advice when sighted is to crouch low to the ground and whimper, not to make eye contact and she should come to you out of curiosity, Sable will probably be the best one to offer advice. Fingers crossed for you.
Che
Hi, it's Jim again. Apparently Che was spotted on the Cupar road, just outside Bonnybank at around 7.30pm tonight (Thursday 7th) but as soon as anyone shouts on her she bolts away from them. It now appears that she is unlikely to go to anyone that she doesn't know! Che looks to have headed in a different direction today, does anybody know if she is likely to go back to the same area's that she has been frequenting or is it possible that she will be on the move elsewhere? We want to try and avoid searching in the wrong area's! Thanks again to everyone for their help and advice, it is so so much appreciated. And please, please keep the information on sightings coming in.Last edited: 2011-07-08 22:32:21 by Che
4dog
if a family member can leave a car that the dog is familiar with near where dog was last spotted with door open and dogs bedding in it, this may work, obviously keep an eye on the car from nearby. good luck.

Thanks Jim, I have added the phone numbers above.Hope she is caught soon.

message from helper dianne....

Thought I would let you know that a poster has been placed at Ace Car Wash on Cupar Road in Kettlebridge (by Kay I think)showing a picture of Che and asking people to look out for her. Hope you find her soon and she was not spooked into hiding by the thunder and lightening yesterday.
Che
This is Jim, 'Che' is my Son & Daughter in law's dog, who are on holiday just now. Please call any of the numbers listed if you have any information at all. Thank you so very much to everyone who has called and who are helping and who are giving us information of sightings etc. Please keep doing it. If we are fortunate enough to get Che back, we will let you all know.Last edited: 2011-07-08 14:27:13 by Che

To anyone who sees Che... just lie down and whimper, dogs often approach. Have a treat in your hand and slip lead over the arm. Good luck.

Owner has gone on holiday so cannot help find Che just now. Local people have been very helpful in searching.Last edited: 2011-07-05 20:58:59 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

If the family members can leave something with there smell on near where she as been seen she may well stay with it. and if you can get a trap set up near by with someone who can monitor it. She will be frighten and they will not even come to owners but she she should be encouraged to the kennels where she was staying she will safe to be there. hope she is back soon

Thanks for info Jareds mum. Have left you a voice mail.

Shay has been seen twice this morning. Once about 1/2 mile from the dog walker/kennels where she was staying and once in the nearby woods. She is not coming to family members or anyone. As soon as she sees a human she just bolts.
Braveheart
I have all my Van drivers on the look out for this dog, lets hope we can rally round and find Shay
