Mambo's owners have been able to establish that, unfortunately, the possible sighting was not of Mambo, but a local farm dog roaming his usual route. Despite intense activity and publicity, there have been no sightings at all since his disappearance. There have been no strangers or unfamiliar vehicles noticed or reported by the local community. Mambo is well known in the area, and by all the local farmers, who would have recognised him if he was seen on their land.
Mambo has many age related health issues, and his owners are now thinking the worst, especially given recent weather conditions.
Mambo's own farm is typical of Cornish farmland, having many areas of deep, tangled and almost impenetrable undergrowth. His owners have searched as thoroughly as they are able, and feel very strongly that he is still close by. They seek closure, and my thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

There has been a possible sighting of Mambo on Saturday, although the owners only received the call on Sunday. A dog matching Mambo's description was seen on a lane, heading towards the A39, or he may have turned off towards Crackington Haven which is one of his regular walks. Mum has recently undergone knee surgery, so has been unable to walk him. Instead he has been going round the fields with Dad. He is known to chase deer, and it is now looking likely that he went off after a deer, and became disorientated. Owners are proactive, and are postering furiously, and hoping for more sightings.

I have now spoken to Mambo's owner. He feels there is a strong chance that Mambo may have been stolen as he is not given to roaming, yet he has vanished without trace. A neighbour had his dog stolen a year ago. There were no clues and the dog has never been found. If there is anyone in Mambo's area who can help with postering, it would be greatly appreciated.
