Debra
A very big thank you to everyone for helping in the search for Harley. He had a good nights rest & is very happy to be home. Thanks to Robert from water farm for calling me straight away. We didn't micro chip as the needle is quite big & decided to wait & have it done at the same time he
was neutered. However I will now re-think & ask the vets advise.... Its a great web-site & once again a heart felt thanks, Debra..

It's great to see a dog warden on here, Pete, you're probably right about the monopoly on the microchipping... :)

Great result!! I cant comment on the microchip thing- i dont chip little pups- for the whole thin skin/ migrating chip issues.... but im not a Vet so seek their advice!! that said, lots of vets DO chip at that age (but i though they only did that at first vaccination time to get the monopoly on the microchipping market!! call me a synic...!!)

Phew! Great news! I would def get a 2nd opinion re the microchipping, I have never heard that reason being given before and poodle mixes are very popular so we def microchipped a fair few at 8 weeks old x
Debra
He's been found! A cottage close by found him by her back door! Thanks again everyone. Yes the vet said his skin was too thin to be microchipped but I'm sure my mum will get a second opinion now!

hopefully will be reunited soon, im sure Pete will explain to the owners that puppies can be microchipped much earlier then 6 months of age (im very surprised that a veterinary practice has given this information), when I worked in practice we did them from 8 weeks, and earlier, infact puppies that are docked are microchipped at a few days old....
Debra
Thank you everyone so much for your help. No news yet unfortunately. We have had a few dogs out at Albury trying to pick up Harley's scent but no luck. We think he may have kept running for quite a while as he was so scared by the noise. The area around the old land fill site & quarry is quite noisy too so we feel he has left that area although he is so young and had already had a long walk that he couldn't have gone too far. Thank you again, on behalf of my mum Debra.

Ive just spoken to SITA who run the landfill site at Albury. They are on the look out, and have the losers number as well as my own. Fingers crossed.
