- Try and leave something of yours where she was sighted, and keep checking there. I am concerned regarding the M11 - you need to let the Highways Agencies know - Essex & Epping councils just in case they should see her, or pick her up on the road/motorway. Let's hope that the dog reported to the police is in fact Poppy as that would hopefully mean, she is safe until you can get her. She must have gone too far in a panic and got herself lost. I am e-mailing some helpful information & scenting instructions to you at the above e-mail address. Pls let me know on here that you have received them. This will help you and Poppy. May I suggest that you keep postering where she was lost AND where she was sighted. Dogs tend to panic at first but when they calm down their instincts kick in, so she could well be trying to get back home now, or she is trying to figure out where she is and what's where. This means she could go on a walkabout, back and forth. You need to plot any sightings on a map. This will indicate her location. You need to poster further out as well - heavily, not sparingly. Put posters in eye line of vehicles along the road, in pet shops, where people walk their dogs, fields, at farms, the train station, everywhere! You already have a sighting which proves posters work, so keep going and you can get Poppy home. Keep safe little one.x

- We have had one response to our posters - someone saw Poppy yesterday (looking terrified) at the local wedding venue at Gaines Park. This is the same piece of land that our house is on, even if it is the other side of the M11. It is completely the opposite direction to the way we thought she would go and she doesn't know her way around that area. With friends we have walked and called Poppy on the relevant chunk of the Essex Way this afternoon, but no sight of her. Have now leafleted further afield in that direction and about to go out again while it is light.

- Owner has heard of dog but all she knows is that the police said the finder has the dog. Who the finder is we do not know and whether it is Poppy or not, we do not know. Let's hope so and that she is handed in today.

- Owner out postering and going to Vets. Advised need to contact police as a dog been found but owner thinks it cannot be Poppy as they would scan and she would have heard. Advised this may not be the case and she needs to contact the police asap.

- Presumably the police didn't take the dog in, just kept a (vague) note of a found dog?? Hopefully finder will/has reported the dog found to the council this morning and fingers crossed its Poppy. Won't be able to contact owners till after work, but will do then. x

- the police say a dog has been found this pm in this area but cannot give a breed, colour or description. Likewise they cannot tell me the name or phone number of the person who found it.

- Have sent text to owners for support. Hope she's back soon. (As a note, railway not far). Jotty, can you do the phone calls? Thank you. x Am sending text.Last edited: 2011-07-18 12:38:56 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
