- We were stroking a pup same markings at Barmston Holiday Caravan village near Bridlington on Tuesday of this week. Could just be totally innocent of course but stood out with being a Merle. Young lady was walking it.Last edited: 2011-08-24 23:11:24 by visionvalue

- Bumped as in local press.

- If there are only a few people that your other dogs would not bark at, assuming all the dogs were around at the time, maybe you need to check with these people? Dogs can be taken by someone they know, hence the lack of barking. Just a thought.

- Clarkey if you can get an advert in the papers and also on the radio that would be good as we need to keep her profle high. I have posted her on my facebook and various groups I belong to, hoping we have some news very soon xxx

- Thankyou everyone for your comments. We have checked everywhere there is no way she could get out of the Garden and nothing was left open for her to get into. We also have another 2 dogs and they would usually bark like crazy if someone came near the garden except for 1 person or people who live near us.
Posters have gone up everywhere within the area and am about to print off fliers to put through letter boxes. Last edited: 2011-07-21 23:06:10 by Clarkey - 2011-07-19 10:27 colliebird
- "rare" blue merle is still in the comment (below) on this list, and we all know that thieves, like us, know how to use the Internet and surf the lost/found/stolen sites to see if the animal they've stolen have offered a reward. Sad fact, but true.

- Have you checked your garden for her getting into something, a shed for example, and locked in. Check also to see if she dug her way out maybe. Such a sweetie, I do so hope you find her very soon.

- Have called everyone I know in the area and round about. Friend with Beardie will be walking the area tomorrow just in case she has been dumped somewhere.

- As a thought, who knew you had her? Any strangers? Any recent visitors? Have a think. Have you checked neighbours gardens? Racking my brains here.

- Thank you bessamour that is a good point I will remove this part from the info and E-mail the owner to let them know why I have.

- Totally agree with bessamour. Merles are anything but rare and leaving that on your information will inspire the "thief" of this or other merles to ask for more, or steal more. Good luck with finding this dog. Last edited: 2011-07-18 13:17:48 by SueJ

- Using the word "rare" is misleading and might get thieves to ask for a lot of money (*if* she's been stolen). Blue merle Border Collies, with or without blue eye are not rare. In fact they are very common. I hope she gets found soon.

- Taken from the information box above:
She is only 12 weeks old and is due to go to the vets next week to have her injections and get chipped. She was let out by my father in law for a wee who got side tracked by the phone. The garden is really secure and we suspect she has been stolen
The owner's have notified the police, dog warden's and vets in the area and posters are up in the area. I will E-mail general information including stolen dog advice and contact numbers for vets in the area.
We need to get this baby home so if anybody can help and needs posters/flyers please E-mail me on c.jermy@tiscali.co.uk. - 2011-07-18 10:00 Carley

- Owners most important thing to do right now, is poster EVERYWHERE!!!! Posters will bring in sightings from the public and make her too hot handle by thieves, so they will let go of her. Also, be aware of anyone phoning for reward saying they have your dog - make sure you see the dog first and hand over at the same time. If not, then they don't have her. There are some horrible people out there and if she's been stolen in this is a possibility. If you feel she has been stolen as the garden was secure, you need to phone the police and explain this. You need a crime number from them. If they don't want to know, ask them to come and look at the garden as proof she could not have escaped, okay? POSTER, POSTER, POSTER right now! Round your home, and a mile out in all directions and after that even further out - you cannot get enough out there! Posters work. Go for it and we are all praying for Lucy's safe return. Keep us updated so we can help you further.

- Sorry to see that LUCY is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (31130)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
