- Hi,
I spoke to dog warden and sadly it was not bailey :( this ckc was a black and tan one. So the search continues with no new leads unfortunatly. - 2011-07-27 14:40 Maggie
- CKC handed in to Herefordshire dog warden last week. Have spoken to lady at council who has arranged for the Dog Warden to contact the owner. Dog was NOT picked up near Ross, but has to be worth checking. I have contacted 'Loulabell' and given details of phone number for Hereford Council. Fingers crossed that this is Bailey.

- Mollychops - not sure whether you want me to call you or the other Maggie (helper) who has added comments? If I get a chance to ring HO for your number tomorrow I'll try and call, but please do not be too suprised if I take a couple of days as my hubby was rushed into hospital last Friday and things are a bit difficult.
Do hope Bailey is found soon. Last edited: 2011-07-26 23:43:15 by Maggie - 2011-07-25 18:34 Mollychops

- Here is a link to rescue centres in the West Midlands. http://www.rescuedirectory.co.uk/animals/west-midlands/page1.html
If anyone could contact some of them with a poster of Bailey it would be greatly appreciated. If you can perhaps if you could post on here which you have done then it will prevent things being duplicated. I see that Maggie has already done quite a few...thanks Maggie. - 2011-07-20 23:23 Maggie
- Wow, someone working at H & W Animal rescue at this time of night & replied immediately!. Poster forwarded to them.
- 2011-07-20 23:14 Maggie
- Sorry I didn't realise your time problems. I have e mailed Baileys poster to RSPCA Hereford, GAWA (they kennel strays handed in to Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Cheltenham dog wardens), Danemere (rescue Kennels, Worcs), Midland Animal Rescue and Teckels (Gloucs sanctuary). I have asked Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue to let me have their e mail address so I can forward poster to them. Can't find any other rescue places on Google, but if there is anything else I can do to help from a distanc let me know.
Maggie. - 2011-07-20 22:27 Maggie
- That's really hard for you, wish I lived closer to help.
Is there anyone in the Ross on Wye area who could poster the main roads and perhaps the petrol stations, Labels, KFC and the Travellers Rest for Loulabell? - 2011-07-20 20:49 loulabell_28
- Hi,
Sorry i havent updated got a 19 month old girl and an 8 week old baby been hard juggling looking after them on my own in the day, ringing around web searching etc to look for bailey i havent found time to get on here. No sadly no news, im absolutely gutted nothing has come to light. I have rang vets ranging from hereford through ross on wye, monmouth etc and nothing rang dog warden for herefordshire and nothing. Will ring dog warden and pounds in gloucester, cheltenham tomorrow. Hopung something comes out of them. We are going to go along the route on the weekend thats the soonest we can do it when my partner is off we will look for dog punds etc then and also put up posters on the way and hand them out. hoping to do this saturday if not will be sunday - 2011-07-20 13:17 Maggie
- Any news? I've e mailed poster to Worcs Animal Rescue at Malvern, perhaps a bit out of area, but who knows in this case? Thinking about you & hoping for a good outcome.
- 2011-07-20 11:23 Owl
- Emailed the RSPCA shelter for Herefordshire. You need to contact absolutely all pounds etc within the possible area of his disappearance.

- Hi Loulabell,
I think you are right it will be difficult to pin-point the spot exactly. Your friends are obviously a bit confused, not surprising as it was late at night, they didn't know where they were and then they lost poor Bailey.
If you look on Multimap for Wilton Garage (postcode HR9 6AE) you will see it is on the island where the A49 joins the A40. If you continue along the A40 to the next island where the A40 meets the A449, this is the island where the KFC and Labels is. If you carry on along the A449 to the next island, the M50 starts and the A449 / B4225 (it shows as the A449 on some maps and B4225 on others) goes to Ledbury. Between the Wilton island and the KFC/Labels island is less than 2 miles. From the KFC/Labels island to the M50 island is much less than 1 mile.
If they are absolutely certain that they travelled several miles after the KFC did they perhaps go along the A449 / B4225 towards Ledbury (this isn't a major road and there are little lanes off it)???
There is a Premier Inn called the Travellers Rest on the M50 island (HR9 7QJ), phone 08715278944 - its a very busy place and must have a lot of local staff, worth a call? I couldn't see an e mail address for them other wise I would have forwarded poster & it's too late for me to call.
I've checked the KFC web site and this is the only one listed in the area.
Wish I lived closer, but if i think of anything else I'll add a note.
If you phone calls tomorrow don't find Bailey, would your friends be willing to drive along the route with you to try and refine the search area? If they stopped at a petrol station & bought petrol do they have a receipt which shows the name of the garage (this would give us one definate point of reference).
Good luck.Last edited: 2011-07-19 01:02:40 by Maggie - 2011-07-18 22:34 loulabell_28
- i hope so too :( I think thats the closest we are going to get. i have got the dog warden number for herefordshire all surrounding vets in ross, leadon, monmouth, coleford etc... so will ring them all tomorrow and fingers crossed. if not look like i will be going all up the A40 and M50 with posters
- 2011-07-18 22:11 Maggie
- Hope so Owl, its just trying to locate where he actually went missing!!
- 2011-07-18 22:05 Owl
- As he is very friendly and will approach people, there is surely a fair chance that he has been picked up by now? Lots of posters needed.
- 2011-07-18 22:04 loulabell_28
- thats ok when i spoke to her she said they drove passed the petrol station and KFC and they stopped at the next garage after KFC. And after they stopped at this petrol station the drove a few miles pulled into a quiet lane and let him out there
- 2011-07-18 22:00 Maggie
- I think you are going to have to ask them if where they stopped did it have a KFC and a petrol station across the road from it. To be honest i think you would remember that. I would happily call them for you
- 2011-07-18 21:36 loulabell_28
- oh no! thought we was getting somewhere. he would have reached the garage between 11 and 11.30 so dont know what time it closes?
- 2011-07-18 21:27 Maggie
- just checked online and the wilton one isn't 24 hours!Last edited: 2011-07-18 21:27:51 by Maggie
- 2011-07-18 21:23 loulabell_28
- right just spoke to them they stopped first a total petrol station near kfc, (obviously one mentioned below) that was the closed one so they stopped at the one further up the road which is the wilton garage and bailey got lost in a lane a few miles after wilton garage. So we are getting closer now :)
- 2011-07-18 21:18 loulabell_28
- yeah i seen that farm aswell. I will check with them now if the stopped at just a petrol station or was it services as we will know then if it is the wilton one or strensham then. Also they did say when the were travelling they did pass one petrol station that was closed down and then went a few miles and found the open one. (either wilton or strensham then), just wondering if you have travelled this route can you remember a closed down petrol station be able to pin point where they were then hopefully :)
- 2011-07-18 21:14 Maggie
- I found the farm which is called Benhall Farm and spoke to a lovely lady called Carol. Carol said that if they stopped down the A40 they would of more than likely stopped at Labels which is just before the M50 and they have a KFC which Maggie below mentioned :). I asked if i could send her the link to Baileys page and if she would ask around and put a poster up, she said i could which i think is very nice of her - we are getting closer and hopefully Bailey will be found very soon Last edited: 2011-07-18 21:16:00 by Maggie
- 2011-07-18 20:32 Maggie
- I have been looking on maps on google, im guessing they would of taken the A40 - along that road there is a place you can stop, which would be a few miles, loads of fields BUT when you first come onto the A40,a saw a farm on the left hand side!! need to find out what that farm is called and see if i can find a phone number, worth ago :)
- 2011-07-18 20:14 Maggie
- We travel along this route several times a year visiting relatives in S Wales. We sometimes stop at Wilton garage and it isn't far from the M50. I've checked Multimap and there is only approx 2 miles between the petrol station you are talking about and the start of the M50. Along these 2 miles there are places they could have stopped, there is a KFC with parking and at least 1 vehicle lay-by. But if they travelled SEVERAL miles after the petrol station are they certain they didn't go on a motorway, they would reach the M50 first, but no service stations on M50, however just after leaving M50 and getting onto M5 they would have reached Strensham services. Is it worth checking with them about Strensham services (would make more sense from a timing view point, it's only about an hour or so to Strensham but if they stopped at the petrol station en route it would take longer) because Strensham is another area.
I feel so sorry for you, these people are not helping you very much and they should be responsible. Good luck. Last edited: 2011-07-18 20:24:31 by Maggie - 2011-07-18 19:50 loulabell_28
- sorry he is between ross on wye and tewksbury
- 2011-07-18 19:42 loulabell_28
- Hiya i have finaly had a reply off the people. They said they did not reach the M5 so this has narrowed it right down he is now inbetweent newport and ross on wye, going by details that they stopped at green petrol station we have found a BP petrol station called wilton garage in ross on wye and on google maps i can see lanes after garage that they could have pulled up, as they pulled over a few miles after petrol station. so have been looking in totally wrong area for 2 days. but when i first asked her she said m5 or m6 now she said that they definatly did not reach m5, so i think it is definalt ross on wye or thereabouts

- sorry forgot to say no they dont know which junction they were last at, but said he went through lots of ring roads and got a bit lost. Not very helpful is it im sorry but thats all i got to work off
- 2011-07-18 17:58 loulabell_28
- They dont know where they were all they could tell me was they were about an hour and half away from newport south wales so we assumed it would be birmingham, worcester areas. We could be completely wrong but had to start somewhere. The last txt i received off them said they stopped at a green petrol station that is about an hour and a half away from newport, and then a few miles down the road they pulled over. I assume this would be BP garage so have been searching them now.Last edited: 2011-07-18 21:12:28 by loulabell_28

- Hi Maggie, no the people who took him (not owner by the way) did not say. Owner did not say she had contacted any of the services. I am at the back of Frankley Services and some of the rescues from Wales use this quite a lot, so they may have done as well!!
- 2011-07-18 14:39 Maggie
- Hi Lizzy, i have been looking on maps on google. Did they say what junction they used to get on to the motorway before they had a break? Maybe they used the motorway all the way but just thought i would ask. I also rang Frankley Services but no answerLast edited: 2011-07-18 14:50:38 by Maggie

He is 2 and a half Owner has contacted as many authorities as she can and is going to try radio stations in the West Mid, Worcester areas.....hoping he can be found soon.
