Chantal - you really need to poster a whole lot more. Posters are the most important thing - you really need to get them out there. Poster everything you can find - every few yards you need a poster! This is what will get Toby back in the long run. Go girl! x

Thanks Emma. :) Jan x

Hope you managed to put some more posters up today, I had a good walk around Campbell Road playing fields and down the linear walkway. I only saw one poster on the main field, so if you haven't done so already it would be worth your while putting more posters up down the walkway, especially towards the end near Monton.

I spoke to a number of dog walkers, who all knew about Toby, so I have asked them to spread the word.

Fingers crossed he is found soon.
Chantal

Email from Chantal, which is great news and the posters are working:

Thanx Jan. I got some news, a gentlemen phoned me (thanx to the posters), he said he saw my lovely Toby on Saturday night at about 20.00. He told me that Toby came up to his dog and played for a few minutes before running off into Cambell Street. I just got back from picking up my son so I havent had the chance to look for this street yet. I will do so a.s.a.p. The gentlemen told me Its near a huge park. I looked in this park on Sunday and again on Monday. But I feel a bit better knowing that he was in good spirits the night he ran off, meaning he was only out for a good time. And now I know where he was last seen and I will keep looking in this area. xx

Various size posters now done and emailed to Chantal, the Salford Council DW Warden contact number has also been added as suggested by Emma (DW).

If anyone is in the area and can help with the postering or forwarding on to others please let us know and they can be emailed to you.

Talakai, Leigh Cats & Dog's Home have been contacted by myself and Chantal, Emma (DW) was in the kennels when we spoke on the phone earlier and has checked again if he has been handed in. No-one has reported any BC's being found to Leigh either. I will email them a poster as well now which they do print off and put on their notice board. Jan x
Talakai
Have Leigh Cats and Dogs home been contacted , I don't mind ringing them if they haven't , I'm sat her on 6 weeks school holidays twiddling my thumbs :( x

Talakai, thanks for the contact number for the Salford Advertiser greatly appreciated. :)

Chantal, great you have followed contacting the Council re RTA's and there have been no reports. I've not long finished speaking with Emma (Salford DW) and she explained that they should be contacted re any RTA's and the free local paper is the Salford Advertiser - thanks for your phone call Emma and nice to speak to you. :)

More photo/s received from Chantel and group photo now done and uploaded, which show his markings. Jan x

Thank you Jan. xx I took more of your advice and phoned the council to found out if there have been any incidences involving knocked over dogs over the past few days, the lady from customer services told me that if Ive reported my dog missing with the warden then they would contact me if the dog that got knocked over had the same discription as Toby's. They have a system thats all linked up. : )
Talakai
I lived around that area for most of my life , there's the Salford Advertiser , a free local newspaper x
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Family have tried the Manchester Evening News and they no long do free adds for missing dogs. Does anyone know of any free papers in the area/surrounding that can be contacted? Thanks. Jan x
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Not long finished speaking to Chantal.

Thanks everyone for posting on Toby's page, there is a lot of info/advice in the email sent the other day (which includes places to poster and contact) Chantal and family have been working through it. Their printer was not up and running when I first contacted them but has now been sorted so they are able to print posters off. I will email various size posters a.s.a.p. to help them in their search. Family are spreading the word with the postering and are going to do door to door when they receive the various size posters.

Toby could well have wandered off if there is a bitch in season; he was acting very restless just before he went missing.

Family have had calls from what sounds like young lads saying they have Toby which could possibly be crank calls. The Police do have the number and have followed it up, thank you to the Police for taking action.

Family are also going to contact Manchester Evening News, hopefully something will be put in soon which will help greatly spreading the word.

If anyone does find Toby it is the LAW that he is reported to the Council Dog Warden.

Landline number has now been taken off and another mobile number added. Come on Toby we want to see you back home and in the BLUE on Doglost. Jan x
Chantal
Thank you everyone xx Im posting as many as possible. : )
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Chantal, if it's there, poster it. Don't cover any speed signs though! :-) Some will get pulled down, but who cares, just so long as another hundred are still up! Give to taxi drivers, postmen, railway station (if there's a railway in the area call Network Rail to report him missing - important), bus stations, park benches, bus stops, trees, lamp posts, get in the eyeline of motorists i.e. posts on the left side of the roads and places as mentionnd by doggo (thanks doggo). You CAN do this and you CAN fidn him. Go girl! x
animal lover
hi, go to mancheshter dogs home and have a look round on there stray section. and keep trying. because by law if a stray is picked up by the dog worden and took to the proper kennels. then if the owner does not turn up then the dog can get sold to a new owner..... so please please keep trying and hind him. xx
doggo
Yes, poster everywhere, just don't use nails on treees. And ask the local children- they always seem to notice thing adults might not, such as a dog they ight have seen.Poster in shops too, on the street, hand out flyers if you can, or post them through people's doors. All publicity helps. Local paper too if you can.Manchester Evening News has a free lost and found column for lost animals: ad stays in for 4 days. Post on Gumtree too, both in lost and found and pets sections, with a photo. Fingers crossed for your lovely Collie.
Chantal
Should I post on walls and trees? Am I allowed to?
Chantal
Thanx Kimmybear. :)
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Owner, remember it was the weekend and dog wardens don't work weekends, so quite possible someone has taken him in. Your mission now is to POSTER the whole area - heavily where he went missing and then work outwards, a few miles even. Poster everything you can find - do not go sparingly. You need to get lovely Toby in everyone's faces! Good luck. Keep safe Toby, mummy's on her way. x
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
posters now e mailed to helpers in M 4,6,26,27,28,30.
Chantal
My husband will be printing posters at work today. xx And then we will hand them to shops etc tonight xx I am truly grateful for all your kind help and advice. I dont know what I would have done if I never found your organisation. xx

Sorry to see Toby is missing.

This link has been cross posted on to Salford Dog Wardens FB page www.facebook.com/dogsinsalford so hopefully people that live locally will be keeping their eye out for him. Please share this page with your friends and encourage them to share with their friends so we can get even more local people looking out for him.

I believe Jan has checked Leigh Cats and Dogs home today and I will check our kennels in the morning. Fingers crossed he is home soon.
