Thanks for all the support and suggestions, everyone. It is this kind of vigilance and persistence that hopefully will help to get these dogs home. Owners are extremely proactive, they follow everything up. The Alfie's dog wasn't Oliver. Oliver is chipped to his owners with up to date details, and he is an older dog altogether. Well done everyone, keep it up. These two have to be somewhere!

Wonder if a holiday-maker took them back home, wherever that may be. Wonder if they can get this on TV or National radio or both. Or, national papers. How about a story in Women's weekly mags? They sometimes do stories about things that readers tell them. To make it more feasible for a magazine, they could talk about DogLost and other dogs lost/found and how they are still searching for these two - with photo. Or maybe even just the sory of these two and the mine shafts would be interesting enough to grab some attention. Need to make it bigger than just a lost dog story as we know what the press is like, but magazines may be more welcoming to this idea. Is that Bella mag still out there? Worth a try. Praying they are both safe and reunited with owners quickly. God bless them. x

Owners have been extremely proactive. We can now rule out the shafts on and around Carn Marth as they have been thoroughly investigated - no dogs down there at all. There have been no sightings reported since a possible one of two dogs, one a boxer, one unidentified, heading along the road at the bottom of Shoot Hill, in the direction of Carharrack, on the day after Dolly and Oliver went missing from Carn Marth. The owner is waiting to talk to the person who saw the dogs. Since then there has been nothing, and they are now believed stolen. Owners have succeeded in obtaining a crime number, and are extending the publicity on a national level. They are doing so much, I do hope they get the breakthrough they so deserve.

Odd for both dogs not to return. Did you check the railways, if there are any? Hope there are not, but need to rule it out. They could well have been found and kept by someone. Also, as has been said, can you check out the mine shafts again. Sometimes you really need to pressure people as they assume something is not possible, but they don't actually go and look. Are you able to check yourself or is it too dangerous? Sometimes you cannot trust what people say and you need to do it yourself, or at least until you feel confident that others have thoroughly checked. Good luck. x

The Camborne dog definitely wasn't Oliver - it was a local, female dog who had got out, and was reunited with her owner within hours.
Owners have been extremely proactive, postering and giving out flyers up as far as Newquay and St Agnes as well as locally. No sightings at all yet. Have suggested they talk to the mining consultants again with a view to further investigation.

On radio cornwall this morning there was a bulletin about a chocolate lab running around in Camborne called Olly. Is this the same dog?

I've just been checking this out - if you go to www.labradoodle.org.uk there are two labradoodles found near Woodchurch being held by Haven Kennels, but I can't see the connection with Oliver and Dolly. I think these may be the dogs Littlehelper was talking about.

Spotted this on www.dogforum.co.uk These two doods have been found in a field near Woodchurch in Kent. Haven Kennels are looking after them (available on facebook). Anyone know anything? They will surely be missing their families so I hope they get reunited soon. If not the kennel will be looking to rehome them.

Oliver and Dolly are missing in an area of many mine workings. Mining consultants have been contacted, and are liaising with the owners.

• If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
• A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (31396)
• Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
