Well done Owl and Wispa! Excellent news! Welcome home, Ziggy! x

I am still pinching myself TBH. As I have never had to experienced this before it really was an horrendous rollercoaster & I hate funfairs!!!! But I would like to make a donation to Doglost for all the work/effort/support that they put in which kept me going, but I would also like to send Wispa & of course her wonderful dedicated mum Phoebe a little something too. So Could someone please email me at sue @yorkieandtoybreedrescue.co.uk how I can donate to DL & also Wispas address so I can send something as a huge thank you. I would never ever have even looked or postered Aunsby Village if Wispa had not insisted we walked all them miles :-) Wispa you are the true hero here.
DogLostOwl
Woohoo, only just seen this! What a lovely note to end the day on. So happy for you and Ziggy, Sue.

OMG everyone Ziggy has been found & Wispa you are amazing as he was found in the village you lead us to. He is at the vets as finder took him there to be scanned so they are giving him the once over, but apart from being very smelly & skinny he appears ok. Thank you all so much foir the support that you gave me.

Wispa and I went to help yorkiegirl today. Wispa took the scent from a harness and toy and quickly matched it up, but surprised us by finding a fresher trail than the one which led across the main road into fields the other side. The little chap must have returned to the village before taking off again in a different direction. I don't know how far she took us, felt like miles but probably wasn't! Through fields and round a pheasant keep with water trough next to it, then through a field to a stream where I assume Ziggy had been drinking, then doubled back for a while before moving off through a small bit of woodland across 2 fields to the village of Aunsby. After an hour and a half I called a halt as this is usually the limit of her concentration. Yorkiegirl is going to extend postering in the direction we went today, and at least we know Ziggy has a water supply.

Sue had what he was sitting on in the cage as I have also.
If he saw other dogs he would go over to them when off lead in one of two parks where he used to live.

Sue, dont feel bad about this, as hard as it is, dogs run off everyday, we know only to well on here, you are doing all the right things, have a huge support looking for him, poor little thing probally thought he was making his way home.

Scenting is the best thing, but being rescue you wont have any items to scent with, so the best route is the smelly meat trick.

has he been sighted recently ??

Can you do a small bbq ( the disposable ) ones round where he ran off late in evening, if he is hiding somewhere he will come out late at night or first thing in morning hunting food.

We had a very succesful reunion, a few weeks back with one of my local runways, she was out for a week, hiding in some woods, the scenting of owner and sausages worked, as it kept her in the area...

Dont give up, the key is to POSTER heavily, make him the hottest dog in the area.. maybe someone has picked him up and not thought to report it, this happens alot till they spot a poster.

chin up, try not to get to down, you have many others to think about, hopefully he will show up very soonx

Will keep a lookout, not far from me, hopefully a sighting soon x

Just emailed you. Well done on getting flyers out. I hope you manage to get your posters up soon. Make sure you get his details to vets (you can do this via the Find Any UK Vet tab on the right on the page) and anyone who is likely to be in the surrounding fields, farmers, stables etc. If he's scared he might be hiding for a while but hopefully some sightings will come in soon.Last edited: 2011-08-04 18:08:21 by B30

Sadly still not even a sighting of Ziggy. He is one very nervy little lad so could be hiding until dark, but I was out a few times in the night & again did not see/hear any dogs etc. I have James (DW) looking & reported to everyone I can think of. To put up posters though I need permission so am waiting for that gentleman to call me back, but am putting A5 flyers through all doors in the village. I feel that I have let him down as I was supposed to be rescuing him & have now placed him in danger. Thank you so much to all for the great response & help. Chip details now changed to me so when (wont say if as I must be positive) he will be bought straight back.

Ziggy was still registered to the original owner who split up with OH and moved I believe. Ziggy was sold on to another owner who had him for 2 weeks, and had not changed the ownership and then Sue picked him up. I know he weighs about 6kgs.
chelseyfj
have sent an e-mail thank you
B30
OK then, can someone send me Sue's email address so that I can forward some photos to her and when she lets me know which one is the most similar I can put it on Ziggy's page and get poster alerts out.

If you could send Sue's email to me via admin@doglost.co.uk and mark it Ziggy NG34 For the Attention of Sue then it will be forwarded to me.

Thanks
chelseyfj

B30
Yorkiegirl, do you have a photo of him? If not perhaps we can sort out a similar photo for the site and then we can send out posters for you.
