Stella went to her forever home yesterday, it is in a lovely rural area with an extremely large garden and plenty of countryside walks,we wish her a long and happy life.

I would like to thank all those that have helped in trying to find stella it looks like the last week hasn't effected her at all.
Phoenix57
Great news!!!!! Thank goodness she was chipped. Hope she finds a forever home soon. Suki the staffie cross from BD9 has also been found a long way from home (Huddersfield). Neither of them got so far away from home on their own!Last edited: 2011-08-11 09:33:03 by Phoenix57

Welcome home. Liz xx
Jarvis Cocker
If am so pleased to post that Stella has been found, while we were concentrating
on the area that she went missing,it seems she was spotted yesterday by some girls in a stable at Drighlington, there is no way she had got there on her own, they called the dog warden who took her to Alfie's kennels and scanned her and gave us a call. Kathy collected her this afternoon, she smelt awful, so has just had a bath, apart from a couple of scars on her head she seems fine. I would like to thank Phoenix57 for her help, and if anybody sees a poster for Stella could they please take it down. We have had a few enquire's for Stella so hopefully she will soon have a loving home of her own, she is a really nice girl.

been round chellow dene today 12:00pm till 1:00pm no sign spoke with local dog walkers and made them aware.
Jarvis Cocker
Kathy and I have been over to Chellow Dene this afternoon, talking to people and giving flyers out, we were armed with sausages, tripe sticks and sardines all nice smelly foods just in case we were lucky enough to spot Stella, it would be good if we could get a definate sighting of her and then we know where to concentrate our search, we did not put many posters up as apart from trees their weren't many places to put them,we only had a staple gun with us and did not want to staple the trees. There was an article in the T&A but it was only brief, the neighbourhood police team know that she is missing,Derick, his family and friends are going to concentrate on Chellow Dene as they are local and it takes us 30 to 45 minutes to get there, but any potential sightings we will come over there with our smelly food.
des
There has been a potential sighting of stella in the Chellow dene area frequented by dog walkers around 0130pm this afternoon I have informed the rescue who are going to have a look around.
The call recieved stated that they had tried to get close to look at her collar but she was timid and ran off which sounds very much like stella. I have also informed local friends who live near to chellow dene to concentrate on that area.
Phoenix57
Is there any chance of someone speaking to the postman and the local neighbourhood police team? There is also the taxi drivers at Cosy. Do any of the local takeaways deliver? Could speak to delivery people. Definitely need to keep checking that the posters in local shops stay up. I had a drive around again this morning but nothing to report. I hope the paper article brings some news.
Jarvis Cocker
We spent about 2 hours today walking around the area postering and talking to people and giving out flyers, on speaking to a local dog walker he said that there is a black dog roaming in the area but it has a very grey muzzle which does not sound like Stella, he seemed to think that if Stella was still running free in the area he would have seen her as he regularly walks his dog on the local estate. I have just been informed that a lot of the posters that we have put up today have been taken down, which makes us think that Stella is still in the area, it is very frustrating as to know what is the best way of getting some information as to her whereabouts, there will be a piece in the T&A tomorrow. If anybody has any ideas as to what else we can do please let us know.

Potential sightings so far are:
Monday 8th August 2011
Co-op Allerton 07:30 to 08:00am
Freshfield Gradens area Allerton 02:00 to 03:00pm
Phoenix57
I'll have a drive around tonight on my way home, and in the morning.

Posters have been replaced with a few additional ones added. thanks to all those that have assisted so far fingers crossed that we are close to finding stella.
Phoenix57
Possible sighting this morning of Stella!! A dog very similar to her seen running around the road opposite the shopping arcade in Allerton. I've spoken to fosterer (who is out looking now) and he's also been told of sightings of a dog loose in Allerton. So fingers crossed she is still in area. A few more posters up in shop windows with REWARD on. Hopefully some news soon. Good luck to everyone out at the moment looking for her.
Jarvis Cocker
Thanks Phoenix57
Phoenix57
Great!! Publicity in the paper has worked a few times recently to get dogs home. I've highlighted the word reward on posters and I'll get them up later in some of the shops hopefully.
Jarvis Cocker
Yes Press Release going in T&A hopefully today, around lunch time Derick,Kathy and I are going to give out flyers and talk to people, somebody must know where she is, hopefully the reward might loosen a few tongues.
Phoenix57
I'll get some posters up in Allerton later. Definitely need to replace posters taken down in case she is still area. Is the press release going to be in the paper? Need to spread the word as much as possible. Should be plenty of dog walkers in Lady Hill Park to leaflet who can be on the look out for her.
Jarvis Cocker
Most of the Posters that Derick has put up have been taken down, we don't know if that is because Stella is still in the area or if it is just idiots who have removed them, I have added reward to the poster and am going to ask Admin if they will do me some flyers 4 to a sheet, hopefully tomorrow we will hand out the flyers and talk to people.
des
Poster emailed to RSPCA Bradford so they can display it and info passed on.
Jarvis Cocker
I will E mail Stella's poster to Kelrose Dog Training Club at Clayton Heights who train on a Monday night, they will display it for all their members to view,
hopefully she will be found before then

I have liaised with the resuce group who are responsible for stella and we will be putting out a press release. we want to make sure we have made every effort in trying to find her/ have someone hand her in before we take step of reporting her stolen. As we do not want whoever has her to just let her lose again or even worse. All your comments are appreciated and if any of you can think of anything else we can try to raise stellas profile please add them as a comment.

Thank you

I know I've put this earlier, but I would report her as stolen and get a crime number as these people who walked off with her have not returned her or followed the correct procedure for stray dogs. Then call the Telegraph and Argus. They have been pretty good recently doing stories aboyt stolen dogs, and the publicity has helped reunite some of the dogs. They certainly reach a wide area in case she is no longer around Allerton. Fleet Kennels are good and I'm sure they'll call if she comes in. They have a poster with photo and always check for chips. When I went up they knew who I meant straight away.

Is there anyone who can put Stella and the staffie cross missing from Lynfield Drive, BD9 on facebook??

Hi I am the fosterer who lost Stella

To keep everyone updated She was last seen around 4:00pm on Thursday 4th August at the end of RHODESWAY in ALLERTON she is small all black with a white chest she was wearing a white collar with black dots like a dalmation.

So far I have had family and friends out looking for her in the ALLERTON area. I have put posters up in the Co-op where she was last seen and also in the DIY store next to the Co-op at the top of the village and also in the newsagents on SAFFRON DRIVE. Also A poster has gone up in the GATEHOUSE vets and at the entrance of LADY HILL PARK.

Today Friday 5th August I have been out with my own dog walking around the ALLERTON area and have also walked around CHELLOW DENE to look. I am going to print off some posters and go back to CHELLOW DENE on Saturday to put some up if there is anyone local to the ALLERTON area and can also put some up in the area of ALLERTON it would be appreciated.

I've taken a poster up to Fleet Kennels so they have a picture of her in case chip not detected. Definitely worth blizing everywhere with posters, including shop windows, the taxi office and takeaways. People tend to be ok about displaying posters I've found. Need to get her known to everyone. Phoenix57
Have they tried the police in case someone contacted them about her? I know they don't deal with them, but people still think they do very often.
Phoenix57
The other dog is registered on here already, a dark brindle staffie cross.
Jarvis Cocker
Stella has a black and white collar on and definitely went missing on Thursday afternoon,Fleet has been contacted, we have heard nothing about her which is worrying as where did the boys take her.
Phoenix57
Just checking on Bradford Gumtree website in case any dogs found and there is a brown staffie cross with a red coller missing from Heaton. I'll text the owner some info and suggest they register on here, but just to let people know if they see her whilst out looking for Stella.
Phoenix57
I can help with postering but don't have a lot of time until tomorrow unfortunately. Would be good to know if the one on Cemetery Road could have been her so know whether to poster up there as well. Is it being reported to police as a theft? They clearly didn't know where she lived!! If she is reported as stolen the T and A may run a story about her, have featured a few recently. Has Fleet Kennels been contacted? I know she is chipped but still worth calling.
biccy
Poster displayed in popular dog walking spot in BD14. Was it Thursday 4th? because we saw a similar dog lose with a blue nylon collar at the top of Cemetery Road on Wednesday 3rd about 6pm. I even came on here to check the lost page.

poster e mailed to helpers in BD 7,8,9,13,14,15.

Stella escaped from the garden,we have been told that 2 boys said that they knew where she lived and walked off with her. Dereck who is fostering Stella is out searching now and putting posters up, if there is any dog lost helpers in the area I am sure he would appreciate your help.
