- I am exceedingly pleased that Zak is home safe and sound. He is such a lovely, handsome little chap and I was worrying about him. Seems like someone took him to the seaside? But who? Who cares? He's home now. Welcome home sweetie. x

- Wow great news,.. if only dogs could talk eh, then we would know how he got down that way, but what a great couple to take him in and get him scanned.
Agreed MillysMum, would be lovely if they could rehome another staffie that is is need of a loving home in the rescue centres.
Now stay safe Zak. - 2011-08-17 21:05 littlehelper
- Well done to the couple who found Zak

- Hi Nikki - what wonderful news. Yes, I wonder how Zak ended up in Whitstable (not far from where I've been today) but a huge WELL DONE to the couple who spotted him without an owner and to the vets who scanned him. Could you make sure that this precious boy wears a collar & ID tag at all times (actually a legal requirement) and that you check your garden fence and repair any possible escape routes. Welcome home Zak!
PS I do hope that the caring couple who found Zak and fell in love with your smiley Staffie lad will consider giving a home to one of the many Staffies in rescue kennels. Were they local people? There are so many Staffies or Staffie crosses awaiting new families, through no fault of their own.Last edited: 2011-08-17 20:27:53 by Millys Mum - 2011-08-17 19:49 Nikki
- Hi everyone i have some great news, i had a phone call from a vets in whitstable in kent, he had been found safe & well running around playing with other dogs in a park. A kind couple took him in & had him scanned & of course he was my Zak, I am so sorry for the lovely couple who took him in & who absolutely fell in love with him but knew deep down he had a home that he belonged to. I don't know where he's been or even how he got there but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone out there who has posted zak around for me. Thank you again again xxxxxx

- Nikki, any news out there? We are all hoping and praying for Zak's safe return. x

- Nikki, Milly's Mum is correct. If you want Zak back, you really have to do everything in your power to get those posters up and quickly. Microchips can only work if the dog is scanned and very often they are sold on to the unwitting public who does not know they have bought a lost dog. Also as he's a staffie, you don't want him falling into the wrong hands. Make him too hot to handle with the posters and you CAN get him back. Please keep trying for your boy. Come on precious Zak, home now sweetie. x

- Any news, information or phone calls? Did you put a 'Missing' ad in the News Shopper? I do hope that you are keeping up the momentum with postering as it's proven to be THE most effective way of reuniting missing dogs with their owners. Believe us, when we say that you need to make Zak the best-known and HOTTEST boy in town. By the way, DL Helper, Baggy Dog has given a copy of Zak's poster to our friend who works as a volunteer at the Last Chance shop in Chatterton Road, which is very close to Zak's home.
Nikki - can you update us please. - 2011-08-10 18:31 Nikki
- Hi everyone, unfortunately i've been out today so not had much chance with phonecalls, ellejay i have looked on gumtree but cannot find the dog u r talking about, i have also checked animal samaritans if u were talking about bubbles then no unfortunately it isn't Zak. I am a bit confused with dog warden & SDK but i have had a phonecall which was from bromley dog warden so i assume it is the right people.

could this be Zak, or too much white on his chest ? - 2011-08-10 11:55 Millys Mum
- Good point Jayne. I did mention this to Nikki when we spoke yesterday but I also bombarded her with other info and phone numbers and so always best to verify dog warden contacts in writing! Lewisham Council's Animal Welfare officers can be contacted on 020 8314 2098 (based in Ladywell) and a contact number I have for one of Croydon's dog wardens is 07881 501 467. I've also advised that Nikki calls SDK (Bromley Council's contracted-out dog warden service) on a daily basis, if possible. To confirm, their contact number is 0844 482 8337 (I have an alternative number listed of 01753 538 819). I don't have details regarding the other Councils you've listed but would be easy to obtain details via their websites. I have left a message with one of my kennels contacts just in case Zak has ended up there. ellejay - thanks for covering Foxgrove and had to laugh at what that naughty Archie had been up to - lol!

- Owner bit concerned when you say you have contacted the dog warden then put SDK in brackets...in other parts of London SDK are responsible for out of hour service...have you let your council and surrounding councils in hour wardens know...as they are completely different and do not always comunicate with each other. google the council name followed by dog warden and numbers will come up.
your council is Bromley and surrounding councils are;
Lewisham.
Croydon.
Southwark.
Greenwich.
Bexley.
Tandridge. - 2011-08-10 00:48 ellejay
- There is a black staffie with a White chest on gumtree, 200 pounds in Kent , don't know where exactly. Stating they are moving and can't keep dog.
Please check him out. - 2011-08-09 23:33 ellejay
- I will ring foxgrove tomorrow and ask if they know of this dog in park.
Yes, I was playing with their dog Archie most of the night un till he took a liking to humping my arm.
Is there any posters in keston area? Just in Case he could be that side of bromley.Last edited: 2011-08-09 23:34:08 by ellejay - 2011-08-09 22:38 Millys Mum
- Hi Nikki (and ellejay!) - I wonder if the 'loose' dog in BPP could be Zak. It's certainly something that needs to be checked out. ellejay - you are quite right about the Foxgrove Club - they are very dog friendly and have a resident dog who lives there. My neighbour is very active at the Club & helps to run the place and so, unless this loose dog can be ruled out, I will ask him to display a poster (not unless ellejay gets there beforehand!). Also I will pop into Foxgrove Road vets and ask them to display a poster. They provide 24/7 out-of-hours emergency cover for many local vets. Also if Helper, Baggy Dog picks up on missing Zak, perhaps she might be able to pop a poster into our Last Chance Friend so that it can be displayed in the Chatterton Road shop. Heres's hoping that the posters start to work their magic and that you will start to get those oh, so important telephone calls.
Am I right in thinking that the golf course is run by David Lloyd (might be wrong as not a place I tend to frequent)? Can anyone help Nikki with the correct telephone number?Last edited: 2011-08-09 22:48:09 by Millys Mum - 2011-08-09 20:30 ellejay
- I was over BBP last night in The Foxgrove club, they are very good at keeping eyes out for lost dogs round there... I wonder if they know of this dog that was there.

- not sure if it was zak but a black and white staff was seen in beckenham place golf course on sunday running loose and i think wad taken to the golf house by a walker there. i didn't see the dog myself but someone else asked if i knew where it belonged. it is worth checking the golf house and postering around there as lots of dog walkers. hope he comes home soon, jc

- Just seen this, sorry to see Zak is missing,... I am the other side of Bromley, i can get some posters up, but at present we are in the middle of these nasty riots round our way, our local high street was targeted last night, so i would be afraid the posters would be torn down.. but i will get some up where i can.
i will keep an eye out on all the free ads for him, does the owner have facebook, to set up a missing page for him ?? - 2011-08-09 12:17 Millys Mum
- I have just spoken to Zak's worried owner. Unfortunately Zak is still missing and, apart from one positive sighting soon after he went missing (woman tried to nab him but Zak ducked away), there has been no news. Owner has postered but I have advised them to put up at least 100 posters and more is better. Owner will contact Admin to request mini-flyers. Owner has contacted all the right people but I have given her further places to call or poster. Owner has already contacted SDK Environmental (contracted-out DW service), Battersea, local vets, police (they weren't interested and failed to tell owner about the call from the woman who tried to catch him!), pet shops, fish & chip shops. I have advised her to contact Network Rail, Council's street cleansing dept, Royal Mail sorting office & all posties, cab offices, petrol stations, supermarkets, parks, and websites including: Gumtree, Pets4Homes, epupz, ukclassified, preloved. I'm also hoping our caring Helper, ellejay is around to assist and give support. If I don't see her posting on here, I will give her a call. I've also advised owner to make sure that the Last Chance shop in Chatterton Road get a large poster and a decent handful of mini-flyers as they are always SO VERY supportive and caring. I know that the owners are desperate to get Zak back home and so would appreciate as much help as possible, as well as some local knowledge/contacts. I do hope that it won't be long until Zak is home... good luck!Last edited: 2011-08-09 12:20:22 by Millys Mum
